YNT has a lot of under-discussed topics in general but "what Tsugai would be a good match for Dera" is one of my favourites. Him remarking he's open to a new one if he finds a suitable pair could just be a way to give us a flashback showing how, perhaps, Tsugai are utilized in modern war zones, and simply show that he was very close to his pair and this remark was just a way of shrugging it off because it's a painful subject for him and he puts it off because he doesn't want to go through this again, but at the same time I am not immune to the hype and aura moments part of my brain screaming "GUN TSUGAI TO COUNTERBALANCE IVAN GUN TSUGAI TO COUNTERBALANCE IVAN"
