My mom is fleeing an abusive relationship and living out of my apartment right now. I am having to, outside of donations, fully support the living expenses of both myself and her. She has had to have almost all her teeth removed due to infection and as of last week my moms doctor found multiple lumps in both her breasts and she will be going to the hospital for tests next week. I WILL have to pay up front costs but I can’t get a clear answer on what it will be. She is also on multiple medications that even with her insurance and goodrx cost 100+ a month.

We have submitted an application for disability but will likely not hear back until 2021. Without another stimulus check I really do not know what I will do. If anyone has the capacity to donate and help us get by I would be so so thankful..

The long post w the good explanation is being shared but not inspiring much help. So, I simplified it.

My illness is straight up fatal. Not gonna beat around thatBush, anymore. I seem desperate for help because I AM desperate for help.

My nephrologist has seen enough improvement in my kidney function, lately, to believe someone my age (early 30s) might have a longer life WITH PROPER AND FREQUENT MEDICAL ATTENTION. Sadly, that just isn’t an option where I live.

Please, if you can help me with moving expenses (even just a couple of bucks) I would be grateful. I’m sinking fast in Mississippi and now my doctors are giving me too much hope to ignore. I wanna get out of this situation and I’m working my fatigued, brain-foggy ass off to make it out of here.

Thanks for reblogging & donating to help keep me alive. This has easily been the most difficult two years of my life even without violence and plague in the world outside my breaking body.

Asking for help getting winter boots and tires. I’ve relocated to a place with snow since this first post and these are the things I can never afford to replace but always seem to wear down.

I mostly do delivery as work & community aid. I can’t do either without my car & boots.

I still am waiting on transplant.

More than 10% of all Americans live in California, so I think it’s really important that as we start voting we all know about Prop 22, which you might see adds for on Tumblr. Here’s a couple things:

Companies are spending millions of dollars to keep themselves from having to cover benefits for their employees instead of spending that money on, for instance, employee benefits.

And they’re doing this at a time when the job these workers do has become the most dangerous for drivers and in the highest demand for deliverers.

Their attempt is so transparently heinous that they had to dispute a neutral description of the proposal.

And their add campaigns are exactly the bullshit Amazon tries to pull, where they have people of color talk about how important their job is or how much “freedom” they need in their work life. If you’ve ever lived in a community with an Amazon warehouse/distribution center, you’d know they regularly chew up and spit out workers in poor and often minority communities desperate for work.

Please, we can’t erode the rights of workers in the most populous state in the nation or allow giant corporations to exploit the pandemic for profit.

It’s the gig economy corporations fighting hard to have the right to exploit workers and deny them the basic benefits of employment. 

Like, you know, the right to be paid for all the time you spend on the job, not the time you spend doing specific tasks. Like the right to overtime payments. The right to have your employer pay for necessary equipment. (In this case, being paid for gas, car maintenance, insurance, and so on.) 

OR - if this really were “independent contractors just using an app to find clients” - the right to negotiate directly with those clients. The right to set their own rates. The right to discuss the terms of the work - like, agreeing to a delay on one side or the other. The right to build  up a regular clientele. The right to refuse clients without penalty. The right to know the details of a job before agreeing to it. (Did you know that Uber and Lyft drivers don’t know the destination before they accept a job?) 

Fuck this bill and its supporters.

i’ve said this before, i will say it again. put the debate on a 2-3 min delay. have fact checkers doing a live check. have an indicator on the screen if the statement is factual, false, misleading, or conspiracy theory level bullshit. they can put up the files and evidence online for further reading later but there should at least be some indicator on the screen so these politicians can’t lie their way into office.
