Blue Bird Snow Bird Dusk Damien Athem Aria Orus Kuro Aster Stella Kaoru *New!Â
He had made sure to take the time to prepare the gift within a mindful white box wrapped in a lavender colored bow. Of course, parties are a thing- but Dusk made sure to find her quite quickly before either family would notice his absence. Once he noticed her, Dusk offered the palm-sized box to her with a sheepish yet gentle smile.
"I wanted to make sure I could give it to you without being interrupted. I know today will be busy for you, so I tried my hand at something a little more handmade. It's... it's not perfect," He adds, glancing back at the box with slight hesitation.
"...but I think it makes it up for its use for you. Happy birthday, Mariko." Dusk's smile warms from awkward to comfortable. He really is no good at being genuine, but with friends like Mariko he felt like this was something he absolutely couldn't miss for her!
Within the box itself is a colorful pin of purples and pinks- in the shape of a cat! With a little bow around its neck too, and although it doesn't look perfect, it looks well enough that the gem facets alternate colors when held in the light!
"I'm not planning on contributing to my family's wealth on becoming a jeweler, but I wanted to make it anyway because you seem to enjoy the little things in life. That way, you can put it on anything you'd like." Dusk adds, his attention drifting from her gift to her.
Then, he laughs quietly!
"Maybe it was the costume from before that made me think of you and cats as being similar in a way. I think it suits you."
( Happy birthday Mariko!!! Dusk is giving you a pretty cat pin he made <: )
{ Mariko Day!!! đïž đ đ }
Big parties were something Mariko had for pretty much all her life. If not celebrating at home with the staff of the Shiratori Mansion, then it was her parents throwing her a big dinner party. They had rented out a banquet hall, in which they invited close colleagues and friends, including Dusk's family. He was the closest friend she has there, so she was happy he attended. While their parents were somewhere else in the place talking, Mariko was relaxing in one of the corridors to catch a breather. "Hey there, Dusk. Hah, don't worry about me, I'm used to eventful days whenever my birthday comes around." Then at the mention that he made something for her as a gift, her eyes blink in surprise as she looks at the gift box he holds out to her.
"You... made me something?" He claims it's not perfect, but the fact alone that it was handmade automatically makes it a great present, no matter what, in her book! Most people probably think that rich only care to receive lavish and luxurious gifts, but Mariko was actually pretty modest when it came to gifts. No matter if pricey or cheap, if it's something that fits her, she will love it. That goes doubly for anything that someone took the time to make for her. "Dummy. You think I care about perfection?" She snickers as she finally takes the box. "I appreciate the fact you wanted to go the extra mile and make me something. Thank you, Dusk."
She carefully undoes the lavender bow before opening the box... and seeing what was inside, makes her gasp in awe. "...!!! This is...! You...made this?!" She picks the colorful pin up to give a full glance. The adorable cat shape, the beautiful purples and pinks, and its little bow... it was one of the most beautiful pins she's ever seen! And as she holds the pin up to the light, watching the colors alternate... "This is amazing.... I've never seen a pin as beautifully made and pretty as this, before... and you seriously think it's not perfect?!"
She was mesmerized, truly. Something this beautiful... made specifically for her! "Despite that...you still wanted to use those skills to make me something like this...." It made her wonder...how did she get so lucky to have a friend like him? Someone who understood her on a personal level in so many ways, treated her like a normal girl who she could talk to about anything. When he laughs and says that, she gives a small laugh of her own. "Heh, I guess you're right. I'm glad you think it suits me. I...love it, Dusk. I really love it! I'll think of different things I can put it on. Like..." On her dress's collar, she carefully places the pin on it. Then with a satisfied smile, she asks: "A nice place to put it, don't you think? I'll take good care of it, I promise. Thank you again, so much! I'm really glad you came here to the part, Dusk."
Her smile as she gives him a quick, but big hug. "You made today even better for me. I hope you know that."
During the Halloween weekend, there was this popup shop in the downtown area: one based on supernatural and mythical beings, in which the merchandise, outfits, and food sold inside were based off of. Naturally, Mariko just had to bring Dusk here with her! She knows how much he likes reading about these kinds of things, so she thought this shop will be something he definitely enjoys.
"Look at all the different stuff here... ! Kitsune shirts, tanuki keychains, bakeneko charms... " Mariko was eagerly staring at it all. Yep, she can just tell she was going to be buying quite a lot of stuff. In fact, she was already putting some items in her basket, like the afro-mentioned bakeneko charm, along with a shirt with a design of a Byakko on it. "I think they also have a small section for books as well, if you're curious... Maybe we'll both find a book we like and can discuss it together." She smiles. A late night reading session between a black cat and a scarecrow later down the line, if not tomorrow... Another fun way they can enjoy Halloween together!
"! Oh, look at that food booth over there! Those look good... " She points to the food stand not too far away from where they're standing. It was selling a variety of street foods and snacks like dango, steamed buns, bread rolls, onigiri, etc. Even the foods were "Want something from there? Might get the kitsune bread roll... I'll get you whatever you want." (HAPPY HALLOWEEEEN!!! đ đâ⏠đ)
It was mostly apparent to anyone who would know Dusk that he didn't tend to step out of his safe haven called the library. He, of all people, didn't often seek the comfort of others over the company of books that entertained the far reaches of his mind. Yet-! The moment that Mariko had offered to take him along with her, his resilience had begun to wane and, with a final soft sigh, had promised to go along with her for the sake of ensuring that there would be no unpleasant surprise awaiting for either of them.
Despite Dusk's anti-social behavior, somehow some way he had gotten to know Mariko at a function his family had hosted. He also did not want to be there, and yet somehow he left with someone who shared a mutual understanding with him.
A friend. The idea seemed so far and distant for him, but despite the underlaying issue of his older brother's attempts to sabotage the bond with underhanded methods (somehow learning of their friendship through a string of connections), Dusk felt obligated. He took her invitation willingly, and now he stands here with her while peering around at the unique looking pop-up shop dressed as a scarecrow, of all things.
In his defense, it was the easiest outfit he could create in the spur of the moment, but he was thankful that it only took a mere hour to throw together. Mariko's own was pretty simple too (a notable black cat paired with ears and a tail) that seemed to match the theme. Needless to say, the quiet scarecrow-dressed Dusk seemed content with just looking alongside her.
"Hmm-?" Dusks' attention had flickered over to her when she pointed out other notable pieces of merchandise that had caught her eye. His attention trailing from the shirts, charms, keychains and more-! Wow⊠for a temporary shop, they seemed to go completely out this year with the new and latest trends! Hearing Mariko's eagerness earned her a small arc of his brow, then the smallest of smils appearing on his face in the moment when she gestured at the books.
He quickly skims as she places more things into her basket, answering her with a small.
"It's to no surprise that you like a lot of these little trinkets, they're fitting for you. As for the books, you know what they say about having only one book, right?"
As if he were being influenced by Mariko's willingness to pluck a few more things into her bucket, Dusk's own hand had come up and grasped two books. One that was titled 'Edgar Allen Poe' while another was titled 'H.P. Lovecraft'. These two titles are very familiar to Dusk, but he wonders if there was anything meaningful he could glean with Mariko while the night's haunting hour nears. He isn't the type to get scared easily, and he never intends to scare her either, but curiosity certainly would pull at him as he holds both books in his hands.
"I picked out a couple here that I think we can find something of interest. They're smaller stories by each author, so if one is too scary for you we can skip to another story altogether." He says with another small smile, almost to hint that if she did get scared that he would never judge her for it. Her weakness is safe with him, after all, as his was with her judgement.
"Oh--" He turns his head to glance over at where she was pointing at. Perfect, they both wouldn't have to go far in order to get something to eat before their late night reading session! How convenient, and thankfully since everything is so close they wouldn't have to go too far either.
"A kitsune roll, hm? That does sound good, now that you mentioned them- picking only one thing out feels like we'll miss trying anything else out, so..." He scratches his chin, then looks at her oh so willing to swoop in to get what he wanted. A gesture that, honestly... he never really had an experience in receiving before. With how much Dusk willingly pulled himself away and shut himself into the walls upon walls of books, he didn't think of how much he would've missed out feeling this way.
Having a friend, he's learning, is becoming a delight for him. He couldn't help but pull his own hand up over his mouth, appearing to think on it but already knowing the answer when he pulls the two books in between them both for her to look at.
"How about this. I'll buy the books and i'll pay half of my portion of the food and we'll find a spot to eat once you're able to collect everything. I'll go ahead and buy the books and we can save them for tonight." His suggestion is quiet but enough to hold in earnest. A fair trade between them, a symbol of their developing friendship, he would like to think.
When Mariko's back had turned once he had given her half of the payment, Dusk turns to move forward and purchase the books he had in his hands.
Before he did so, however... he decided to buy some bookmarks for the both of them. The designs were clearly fun-filled, but Dusk couldn't help but huff while smiling under his breath.
She'll most likely find these to have a bit of a charm to them, he thinks!
@cloudpools { A Wrinkle in Normalcy }
It was odd... in fact, the few moments ago felt like a blur than anything. From between his arrival at this particular village to following his objective in infiltrating the tower, Orus had been tasked with a simple mission assigned to him by a generous benefactor that hired him: Kidnap and hold the Sun Child hostage until further instructions.
Granted, usually these kind of underground requests were saved for an elite assassin- but Orus is much more than just a normal assassin. He's a pro at what he does, a notable Killer of Kings, one might highlight. If it were anyone in a position of power that needed to be taken out, one would opt to grab him in order to do the deed without any fingerprints or detection needed.
However... something went wrong, in a way. Within a blink of a moment in between him slipping through the window and finding himself surrounded by guards, Orus had miraculously weaved his way out of the village with the Sun Child securely binded in his arms. He felt bad for knocking her out with a poison that induced temporary sleep, but he needed to do it.
When he had entered a clearing just a little ways from the Village, the tower still within view in the horizon, Orus had settled onto his knee and placed the Sun Child onto the ground, leaning up against a sturdy tree.
He felt sick. Not for what he's done, but for some oddity that he couldn't really understand. Biting his lip, he takes note at the fact that the other is beginning to stir.
He can't make anymore of the powder to put her back to sleep, so he decides to weakly take a breath while watching her begin to open her eyes. Hopefully she'll realize that she's definitely not in a position to argue or fight him, his eyes narrowing to appear unbothered by her.
"You're awake, good. You're my hostage now, so you can either follow my commands or try testing me. You're the Sun Child, so they say. Are you able to give me your name?"
A simple inquiry to, HOPEFULLY, balance out the rather bleak position he intentionally had put her in.
"Okay then. You do it. Don't be a coward, put your hand in it." He's talking about the weird opened cavity in a tree- that definitely doesn't look like a nest of some sort. Definitely not.
â you idiot. â
(Koji to Blue! <3 KJFNDKJDFJK I SWEARS HE SAYS IT OUT OF CARE, BLUE!!! And not said angrily of course, in his usual stone faced tone and expression, HEHE. BUT YEAH, maybe this can take place where they're closer friends and Koji says this while tending to his injuries~! y'know, cause he TOOOTALLY doesn't care or anything, heh heh heh! âš)
ă Â RP MEME :Â Â Â WAYS TO REACT TO AN INJURYÂ Â . Â ă
'You idiot.'
Yeah, that was certainly directed at him- the one who didn't put any thought into putting himself in between danger and instinct. After getting to know him (as well as unveiling the secrets they both kept under cover) the both of them had come to overlap in their work by happenstance. Blue's supervisor had no idea that, of all people, that Koji was the one to have saved him from passing out while in the middle of giving chase.
In fact, if Blue could recall, he was hot on a suspect's heels when he had gained a very particular tip from a rather concerning text message. This culprit that's behind these disappearances- this was serious, and any hint and clue he could procure for their efforts meant that they were one step closer to unveiling the whereabouts of the eight missing people.
No... not missing. Kidnapped. Blue was sure of this, the evidence that was found out (thanks to efforts of both him and Koji) they were both separately working their way to cornering the suspect in question-
-that was when Blue had made one fatal error: He found himself face-to-face with a group of them. A cult, perhaps? Or something completely different? Without thinking, he instinctively pushed forward and attempted to use his body to push the few figures down. His hand working to reach for his gun-
ZZZZZZT-!!!
"Agh-!"
Blue suddenly felt his body jolt and collapsed onto the floor. Thankfully, when he had come to, he noticed that the mysterious figures had fled off elsewhere.
Not a trace of them could be found... but he did realize that Koji was beside him. The bleeding that had stained the shoulder of his coat had been taken care of by the spy, feeling the harsh burn of where the metal probes had been pierced into him. He got tazed, he can come to that conclusion with a heavy sigh.
He got too cocky and therefore left an opening for the suspects to take advantage of. Blue felt the heavy weight of defeat in the moment, his hand coming up to test the injury that Koji had helped with.
He should really be embarrassed by this... but Blue simply answered with a bow of his head, blue eyes flickering over to the Spy.
"Yeah... maybe that was rather stupid of me. I almost had them- but, I didn't anticipate that. Ugh, I should've waited..." Voicing his correction and shaking his head, Blue could only stay settled on the ground for a long moment. His body still numb even after the suspects had fled.
"...Thank you for watching out for me, Koji. I honestly don't know what would've happened if you weren't here to intercept them, but..."
Blue feels himself smile a little, attention switching between the injury that was taken care of and then back to Koji.
"You really saved me there. I guess I have grown on you a little bit, yeah? Just don't tell my supervisor about this... i'll handle it."
It's a major disappointment to come back empty-handed, but at least he would go back in one piece rather than suddenly vanish (or Koji) along with the rest of the missing persons.
The real question is: Where were they...?
"Payback time."
"Oh no, you don't!" She saw that, Wylan! Her hand coming up to grip his wrist before he can even think it! The look in her eyes matching the harsh heat of sun that would beat over their heads. With a hefty 'huff-!', Soleil opts to hold his wrist like this.
If it were anything more, an onlooker gazing in could mistake this as some form of holding his wrist out of consideration and not out of an absolute threat. It's a good thing Soleil could see where this was going, because THAT memory didn't leave her at all.
In fact, as her hold on his wrist tightens ever so slightly, she feels her lips slowly draw out a small, fine grin.
"You don't seem to recall that the last time that happened, it was an accident. Now you're making it intentional? And not even a single dinner date to be seen, either. Tsk, tsk, Wylan." Her voice holds sarcasm but, of course, being typical Soleil, she lets him come to his own conclusion on IF what she had said was meant to be hinted at or not. Her hold on his wrist loosening- except when she looks at him with another stubborn squint.
"Did that happen to be on your mind recently, huh lover boy?"
I may be slow at getting to replies on here but boy do I make it worth it!!!
Where the Quagsire was vacant, there was emotion abounds in the Lilligant. Hardly a surprise given Gigi's pedigree and career as a performer. With a child-like fascination it's abundantly eager to follow the direction of the Ribombee, giving a lilting Liii~ as it bounds away in rhythmic step to dance among the gardens. Will anyone else dance with her?
Well, perhaps X would. If he weren't giving a courteous recognition to the Milotic. Alfred, unfortunately lacked hands or appendages to do so. But something about the atmosphere seemed... pleasing to the steel and electric type. Upon being summoned it was far from what the aged machine anticipated. There's a sonic noise of affirmation, but it remains content to float while the Exploud stays at heel with Wylan.
"I guess this is the kind of thing a guy misses out on having when he travels all the damn time." He comments with a certain impressed glee. Looking over the edge into the pond before pulling back. He sighs with continued amusement. "I'm lucky if I can keep a plant growing in an apartment, forget a whole garden. Ain't that right, Alfred?"
Wylan calls back to the trailing Magneton, who simply parrots its sonic acknowledgement anew. With how the triad of eyes slowly blinked, it was at least perceivable to the coordinator that the older Pokemon was happy.
"He likes plants and gardens. Been that way since I started coordinating. Always likes to watch Gigi perform." Wylan adds, nodding to the smaller grass type who was now, after sniffing and savoring the flowers, skipping along the edge of the pond. His Exploud had left his side in turn, taking a sort of 'big brother' role in it all to make sure the little lady didnt' fall in or somesuch. "But this pond here, isn't it the same place that Spot uh..." Wylan cackles, gesturing back and forth between the suspect and the scene. "Talk about making good work of a situation. It looks great. Adds to the uh. Ambiance." Wylan continues, waving a hand like a ripple through the air past Sol's face.
For as much as he enjoyed looking at the gardens, he found himself frequently looking back to Sol during her explanations and remarks. He was so accustomed to seeing her look frustrated or playfully bothered. The genuine satisfaction and pride in the features she had now took Wylan with a different feeling.
...it almost made him want to bother her again.
"You know, on an unrelated subject. I wish I could borrow your Milotic. I'm not very experienced when it comes to performing with water types..." His fruitless efforts with the Starmie he caught on the beach before come to mind. "...but this one might even be cuter than you are. It has potential."
He laughs, gaze flitting almost nervously between the pokemon and its trainer before he clears his throat and refocuses his own thoughts. The veil was present, and it needed to be shaken up a little bit. Just as when he had been walking arm in arm with the lady.
Quagsire has approached the pond with the mug, meanwhile. Its braincell is attempting to function. For something.
A look of subtle surprise had arisen from the aroma lady as her gaze shifts from between Wylan to the floating magnet-like pokemon. Nervousness, a familiar reaction when she did have bias against the formidable steel-types, had caused her to quickly glance away from Alfred at first. If it had been her when Wylan had first met her, she would've had her own pokemon attack the poor thing at first sight.
She remembers those echoing words she used to say when confronted with them: Those are not natural organisms. They are not living things. They're objects, not living creatures. Her own voice echoing inside as she hesitantly glances back at Alfred.
A special chance encounter with him had been seared into her memory forevermore. The very words of Akachi had woven into her thoughts, solidifying one's viewpoint to another. It was because of him⊠that she could now look at Alfred- a steel type who was actually enjoying the garden.
A steel type who likes plants...
Sol swallowed her nervousness down and in its place formed a settled flutter of anxiousness.
"I see, how unique of them. It sounds like they've grown to understand and enjoy each other's presence. If they both like the atmosphere of a garden, then they'll like several of the newer sections here." Her attention goes from Wylan back to his pokemon. A soft smile, even when she felt her nervousness subside slightly from the sight of his pokemon showing obvious curiosity and enjoyment in the moment.
"I'm glad you all like it so much. I guess that means you'll have no choice but to come by more often then, or your pokemon might get restless without a little wandering time here." Her voice coupled with a know-it-all tone, Sol had crossed her arms proudly and watched as the scene plays out before both trainers:
While Gigi and X were fiddling around at the edge of the pool, Sol's Milotic had gently watched them with a modest kind of laziness. Her tail slowly swirling behind her serpentine body, the aquatic pokemon had craned her head in order to do a little investigating on the traveling duo. With a slow quiet slide of her body through water, Paradise follows along steadily. Softly humming and following the Liligant's bounce-like dance with a nod of her head now and then. Her gaze sliding back and forth from her shifting dance to the protective looking Exploud, her humming gradually matching her curiosity at the two.
Meanwhile, Sol's Ribombee had fluttered back over towards the floating Magneton- only this time! She had something within her tiny little feeler-like hands. When her big round eyes blinked and chirped at the magnet pokemon, it would be revealed that she had brought a tiny little gift for them: A small vine of buttercup flowers! Normally, these type of flowers would be poisonous to any who eat them- but since Magneton is a steel type- there is no worry! The fairy type had already worked on gently placing the small vine around one of its rotating magnets before flying backwards, chirping in joy! How beautiful, you look so pretty!
The yellow fuzzy body then flutters back to find something suitable for the Quagsire, meanwhile! The Ribombee fluttering over the water surface, looking for something!
Finding her smile widening ever so slightly at the scene before them, Sol had found herself becoming more and more aware of the distance between her and Wylan. It was almost as if the will to let her stubbornness push forward had drifted away in the moment. Weird how something as simple as showing someone something like this would make one feel. Not to mention finding herself growing more and more silent with each compliment Wylan had offered her.
Inflating her pride? Not anymore, it certainly felt like she was floating on something instead of swelling like a balloon. It felt⊠nice.
In the moment, Sol had turned her attention back to Wylan just as he began to speak. As if acting on instinct in a way- how embarrassing to think of it that way.
"Borrow Paradise? She took an awful lot of care and love to bring out her potential, but despite that she's remained very modest. I normally wouldn't entertain the idea of letting her out of my sight," Sol begins, until she suddenly caught what Wylan had said to her- and felt her face heat up in the moment. That was a trick, right?? Or, was it? The aroma lady also opting to clear her throat, the weight of awkwardness suddenly becoming much more apparent as she became very much aware of just how close Wylan was to her- and how this scene looked like.
It's wonderfully colorful, flowers and lively pokemon everywhere, the sweet aroma of honey and roses. All of it feeding into the sudden vulnerability of closeness that Sol was not entirely aware of until this very moment. Finding herself fidgeting with her fingertips, the aroma lady entertained his curiosity with her own.
"âŠbut I wouldn't mind it so much since you obviously have the experience to bring out that potential in the first place. Paradise is not afraid to get forceful when she needs to be, but maybe she'll help you see just how alluring they can beâŠ" Her red gaze settled on Wylan for a touch moment more, her words had left a small smile on her face despite being aware of the thundering pulse within her chest.
âŠOff to the side where a couple of Cutieflies had been hovering, they turned to gaze at the two. Positive emotions, bright and vivid with colors and scents exclusive to them, they fluttered curiously since strong emotions led to strong aura- which is what they like to flutter around! How cute of them!
NOOO SHE DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS!!!!
It was the usual active morning hours at the Heiwa Coffeehouse. Office workers sitting down with their laptops and coffee, college students working on their assignments with their own orders, or people who wanted to begin their free day with a nice cup and/or pastry.... While he currently didn't have customers, Koji was just doing some cleaning behind the counter. As he does, he could hear the news report blasting from that person's tablet.
The mysterious string of missing person cases... Being a spy, Koji naturally kept up with these kinds of things. While he wasn't directly tasked with a mission regarding this just yet, his boss still suggested that he keeps a close eye on this case to see if he can piece together a connection between the missing people. After all.... It was usually the works of a corrupted group or organization that was behind these kinds of crimes.... And if so, then he highly doubts the missing people wouldn't be connected, somehow. Perhaps everyone who went missing had crippling debt of some kind? That was impossible to pay back and as a consequence, was taken somewhere? Or some sick method of making people go missing so they could get paid handsomely for 'finding' them? No matter the reason... It seemed like investigators on this case were stumped. If they couldn't do anything soon, he really might to stop things 'in the shadows', himself....
Once the news report ended and everyone went back to their usual conversations, Koji was about to go back to cleaning until this man greeted him. "......" Cheery customers were nothing new for him, but it certainly wasn't everyday where one outright introduced themselves like he does. .... Unfortunately, Koji's default expression was the exact opposite of Blue's much friendlier one: never smiling and not friendly looking....or acting, really. But on the job, he must be polite... after all, what makes this coffeehouse feel like a legitimate one, is if it feels like a positive and peaceful space. Bringing negativity to it would be no good... And so, he greets back: "...Hello. I see. Welcome in, then."
Blue... that has to be some kind of nickname, right? Unless he's foreign... either way, he probably should give him the courtesy of telling him his name, too. "...I'm Koji. As for recommendations... our tuxedo lattes tend to be pretty popular. It's a coffee with a mix of dark chocolate and white chocolate syrup. Or, if you like seasonal items... one of our choices is a toffee nut latte, if you like nuttier flavors...."
Bad as he can be with actual socializing, he was pretty good at suggesting different choices. It was a skill that naturally came with the job over the years, but also out of the genuine interest of making coffee..
It's certainly not a new front for Blue to approach when it comes to others that weren't as friendly to approach than most. Normally, most would be put off from a rather blank and unreadable expression. However, this didn't detour the investigator in the slightest. In fact, even when met with a seemingly lukewarm introduction, Blue's expression still matched his fondness of simply existing in the moment. If he wasn't being constantly pulled around into social groups then this type of setting was certainly welcomed by him. A change in pace, if he says so himself.
"It's nice to meet you then, Koji! I have to admit, i'm usually used to ordering black coffee that I never really considered getting out of my comfort zone. It's probably because i'm always in such a hurry so I don't have the leisure of waiting too long." Which, unfortunately, was true for him. Either he had to be at the scene right when he's called, or getting pulled so suddenly in order to meet up with a supervisor. Even excluding his job, even on a normal typical day he always found himself roped in some type of social setting.
He never minded, though. The smile on Blue's face warmed into one with careful thoughtfulness. If there was such a thing as a loading circle that could be seen over someone's head, it certainly could be read on Blue's expression. Decisions aren't easy for him on the spot, but to save him the embarrassment of waiting for too long, he quickly picked the first option that Koji had offered him!
"Dark chocolate is a favorite of mine, so I can consider the tuxedo latteâŠ! From the way you described it, I can see how it can be pretty popular." Since, of course, chocolate paired pretty well with coffee. Seeming pleased with his decision, Blue opts to wait ever so patiently. His attention gently gazing at the different assortments of tools that baristas typically use. Wow, this took a lot of attention to detail than he imagined!
"So, how long have you been working here, Koji? Is it usually pretty quiet during this time in the morning? I figured it would've been busy, but i'm glad I came by." Small talk, it's something Blue had become accustomed to especially when he was somewhere he wasn't at all too familiar with!

wylan's birthday!!! :: 10/10 baby
@glorytoclorin sent: It had taken a little more time than usual, but the aroma lady had finally made her way to stop Wylan in his tracks. Where he was heading to, she didn't care: All she cared about was finding him first before he got swept away into one of his insane antics. "I need you to close your eyes. Just do it, okay birthday boy?" Her stubbornness to wait for him to humor her was apparent, but as soon as he had followed along, Wylan would be able to feel Sol fidget with the front of his shirt. It felt like she was pinning something on it? "Ok... you can open them." If Wylan looks down, he would be able to see a unique looking Floral Boutonniere pinned to the front of his shirt! The flower itself looks bright and vibrant, pairing well with the smaller speckles of berries and green leaves to match! "There... it took a little bit for Rosemary to dry them properly so that way they won't fall apart. I hope you like it, even if you only wear it once." She looks away, embarrassed in herself for wording it like that. Don't act silly!! Rosemary, her Florges, meanwhile puts her small hands together and hums in satisfaction. Eyes glittering in appeal and appreciation of seeing such a beautiful thing on the show trainer before them! "I chose Marigolds because they're very popular during this time of year. Orange might not be your favorite color, but it looks nice on you. Happy birthday." Sol quickly says, scratching behind her neck to relieve the embarrassment that paired along with her matter-of-fact tone. Of course, she won't go into detail on what Marigolds mean. She wasn't about to out herself in pointing out that Marigolds mean joy and passion, something to which she saw in Wylan.
Wylan loves being interrupted. Thrives, even. Being accosted means someone has need or interest enough to cut in on their own accord instead of Wylan making his own moves. That's incredible. It's a gift all its own! Disregard that it's almost late, not that he'll bother getting upset. Unless it's funny. With Sol it probably wouldn't be. So he won't.
"Ooo. Birthday boy. I like the way you say that." He complies matter of factly and without delay. Going so far as to bring up his arms and press them gently over his eyes. "Your wish is my command, do with me as you may. I'll gladly bear upon myself and my illustrated record the consequences of your ... eh? Hmm?" His expression wrinkles with pensive consideration as Sol went about her preparation, but remains motionless until the permission is granted.
He spreads the fingers like a fan, first looking to see where she had ended up before investigating what had transpired. With how she looks away with the explanation, the smirk that fills him wins out over the smile he'd prefer to be wearing. Aw, is she embarassed? And for good reason. The pin on his shirt has equal parts elegance and professionalism.
"Whoa. Not what I expected. A flower pin, I mean. It being nice is a given. I haven't known you to half-ass anything in the time we've known each other. Maybe we do it in different ways, but when it comes to effort and engagement... well." They both get to the finish, don't they? He pulls up the shirt she had pinned the brooch to, getting a full view of the petals and berries. "Not everyone would make the official and real decoration. And you got help. Thank you, kindly madam."
Wylan releases his hold, transitioning into a flourishing bow to the Florges that brings his head parallel to the ground before tipping his eyes up, looking at Sol from the lower angle.
"...y'knoooow. If I'm only going to wear it once, then I better make that a pretty important day then, wouldn't you agree?" Brows lift inquisitively, his eyes drifting over and down Soleil in consideration of what she might wear... well, maybe that's too dramatic a thought. Wylan laughs it off before standing. Giving another twist to the pin to make sure it was resting a little better over his chest. Tracing a finger over the petals.
"Ah, but thanks, Sol. I'll have to show this to Gigi later. I know she'll love it. Wonder if I can't work it into an outfit we can wear together. Or. Would you get jealous? After all. I can't help but think of you when I look at this flower. Bright and a little explosive. But also burning like a sun."
I finally farm'd the Omega enough to get blue bird his armor please look at my hard work and tell him he looks great!!! The dark knight aesthetic doesn't fit him but at the same time he can pull the look off so well hehe
