Why Is It When Something Happens, It’s Always You Three?

The three of us started art school together four years ago on August 26, 2013. Two years ago, we were approved by our art faculty to pursue BFA degrees, and two years ago we started talking about what it would be like to have our senior show together. Two years ago, we started plotting collaborations, and just a few months ago, we finished this piece and put together our joint BFA exhibition. In three days, we graduate, and I am terrified.

Sometimes it's annoying when a piece doesn't get full reduction and this is NOT one of those times I love this mug so much

Real Artist Problems:

so I got a commission a few weeks ago for a vase. I finally got around to it and it came out of the kiln this morning, I brought it home, it was just sitting innocently on my floor next to my dresser and then I hear this sickening crack and I know exactly what it is before I even go investigate but there's still that tiny part that's like 'maybe it's not what I think it is maybe it's ok' I picked up the frickin gorgeous vase and the bottom didn't come with it add that to me starting to assemble a sculpture today with pieces in the wrong place, only realizing after I welded fifteen pieces together and we have my Worst Day in a While 🙃

alright so Story Time I was throwing a new platter today and I pushed it too far and I was about to scrap it but then my professor came over, declaring that she could fix it. I desperately did not want to like what she did to it I disagree with so many of her artistic decisions they're just not me at all but I love it and now I'm having an existential crisis about what direction I'm going with my ceramics 😅

Ok I'm actually about to cry because my new sculpture looks exactly how I wanted and this is the most magical thing I've ever seen and it's finally on a gallery wall and it like all my dreams are coming true I am so happy
