She threw these lovely 3” tall and 3.5” diameter mugs and I decorated them.

I usually use the end-bits of clay to make mugs, but that just brought on a slew of headaches in portioning out enough clay for handles, etc. No more. Ring boxes are the new hotness

blue footed booby mug (sold) this was the first of my more experimental bird mugs (outside of songbirds, raptors and owls which are naturally rounder and thus fit better to a mug shape) where i wanted to see if i could do a longer necked bird. I think it mostly reads, tho if i do any more gannet species i'll probably throw a longer necked mug form for them.

the eponymous feet didn't turn out as vibrant as i wanted either (so maaaybe do another one) but otherwise everything else turned out nice. I was also experimenting with doing more color shading on the underglazes to get that flecked white to brown look that boobies have. i used mayco's sapphire glaze for the inside, the rest is clear (tho i did use a little of amaco's snow celadon on the eyes, i don't know that it mattered much) patreon | store | ig

Really proud of myself for this one because this is probably THE BEST handle I’ve made. I did a slab handle and sheesh, she’s cute for this espresso cup!

This wasn’t as cute but I wanted to try something different.
