Player Analysis
It's theorized Player had helped with the Hour of Joy from the radio in the nightmare sequence playing in reverse
"I find your presence intrusive. After all this time you return? You come in here and you kill and murder, you pillage and destroy! your presence was demanded 10 years ago and you never showed up. 8/8/1995..You were supposed to be here. Why weren't you here? You missed the event, you missed the meeting, you missed the party. You have no right to be here. 8/8/1995"
What if it wasn't about Player helping them with the Hour of Joy but didn't show up that day. What if the radio was about the guilt they were supposed to die along with their coworkers
"You kill and murder" The roles of who was meant to die are switched. Player meant to die in the Hour of Joy because being an employee is enough, and now Player is the one killing them off and knowing they were the orphans.
I thought I saw a video show this unused thing on Player, and I only got the wiki to show I'm not nuts and it did say Player took a sick day. For "Your presence was demanded 10 years ago but you didn't show up", it cam be viewed on those "idc your sick come in and work", Playtime Co had a rep of not being the kindness to their workers 🦆This could've changed throughout development though so I can't be certain.
For the hallucination sequence.
The red smoke sequence consists of Player's guilt resurfacing. In the hallway and throughout is scattered with frames of orphans, leads to the VHS room, and in that hallway we hear children crying. The crying sounds like the crying in the first Chapter 3 teaser (smoke mask as visual and Elliot talking about Playcare's arrival, the sounds after the speech transition from cheering to children crying and screaming. Another connection to the orphans here___).
Player's thoughts consistingly are about the orphans, and this is how I see this beimg their motivation from hallucinating Poppy justifying while they see the orphans, the reason they need to continue on so they can free the orphans in the labs.

There's a parallel between how Sawyer and Harley perceive the orphans worth. Harley is said to not care about the orphans by Stella, but Player is following Poppy to save them. When questioning Player's drive to continue into the factory, I believe Harley was on the right track with questioning if it was someone Player loved that brought them back, but not on the right one.
Harley doesn't care about the orphans, and sees their lives as to not mattered only that he made them matter for science.
"What's a dozen orphans, a thousand? Next to this? What would they have been otherwise? Another drooling automaton out in the world blindly accepting promises of better men? I gave them purpose. I made their lives matter"
I'll declare that the reason he'd assume Player went back for an employee is he sees them more worthy of going back for them than the orphans.
I don't believe they could've been a teacher given Miss Delight recognized them, and the teachers were replaced with Delights for cheaper reasons. I presume they were working in Playcare, Miss Delight recognized them, Harley didn't recognize them, so not a scientist. Harley was blabbering about in The Story So Far, Player would be uncovering factory secrets in real game time.
Wrongside Out song has the same angel wings as the chalkboard shows in Chapter 3 teaser, the second one. Like how Catnap sees the Prototype, so is how Player gets seen as am Angel of Salvation too (Poppy's angel come save us). if we wanna draw that conclusion, an angel of death.
For how the letter It's unclear who written, sent it, and knew Player's address to even get it there. Oliver claimed Poppy brought an outsider, so I suspect Kissy did since she's not in the case and pulled a level to lift the gate allowing Player to proceed.
There's a connection to the two, the photo Kissy is holding in Playcare, is the same photo on the table. The photos been swapped with this girl, which this looks intentionally important.

Please hear me out on Player x Stella and call the ship name Angelcare for Poppy's Angel + Playcare. Player worked in Playcare which is why Miss Delight recognized them while Harley didn't, and Stella is Head of Playcare. I been on this for a year and the dam has burst
