can't go wrong at $1.50 baby
i don't know how to explain it but the tin man in the books was INSANE does anyone know if there's an adaption with the wolves??? bro just silently murdered dozens of wolves while everyone was sleeping and it's never talked about again the anime had it but like. everyone was awake and he wasn't chopping them up, but I sound insane every time I try to talk about it
This started as a guy pulling the old "homosexuality is wrong because it doesn't produce children" and very quickly escalated to his poorly veiled fantasy of becoming Immortan fucking Joe I guess.

I very rarely read books that are recommended to me adamantly by tons of people but due to the specific people doing so, I’m gonna give it a shot.
It is off to the best possible start:
Two chapters in and it’s been all downhill from the initial cat. Aside from having the same opening as Hitchhiker’s Guide, it’s also trying to emulate the style with lots of irreverence but way less charm.
Strike 2, the oddity of the dungeon world, aside from the basis in games, is very random in a bad way. Not like Alice in Wonderland but more like a kid telling a story and making it up as they go. Which can have its own charm, but so far this doesn’t.
Strike 3 but I’m gonna keep going, pop culture references for the sake of pop culture references.
Gave up. Last straw was that from pages 30 to 60 it was all just uncreative mean spirited exposition. I don’t like the feel of the book or how much it owes to better books, shows and movies. It feels like a 4chan teenager trying to copy south park and hitchhiker’s guide.
Apologies to those who enjoy it, I’m just not one.
I looked up some reviews and though Goodreads has a few negative ones, out of Amazon’s 70,000 reviews, nobody has ever given it 1 or 2 stars. There are no reviews more critical of it than “good but not for me.”
I call severe bullshit on this.
Signal boosting because what the fuck is this shit. If you like a book and i don’t fine, but what the fuck is this amazon shit?
Fuck it I’m putting this on the big blog because Amazon is the one making shit up now. This is a book I don’t like but I know many in person who love it. That’s fine. Deleting every bad review by the thousand is not. Fuck Amazon to hell.
just noticed that it's national poetry month, so I think I'll share my favorite poem.
They got a literal war criminal on The Boys. The former IOF actor Tomer Capone literally admitted to terrorising Palestinians. I'm not sure why you still want to watch this show

"Making a better burger is literally so simple, I don't know why McDonald's doesn't do it this way. First we're going to begin by craft dry-aging this A5 wagyu beef with the sho-shu-ryuba technique that I learned at a restaurant you're only allowed to work at if your parents are bluelinked on wikipedia..."
This post continues to occasionally strike a nerve in the trust fund baby influencer fandom.

Langston Hughes: Beaumont to Detroit (1943)
Looky here, America What you done done – Let things drift Until the riots come
Now your policemen Let the mobs run free. I reckon you don’t care Nothing about me.
You tell me that hitler Is a mighty bad man. I guess he took lessons From the ku klux klan.
You tell me mussolini’s Got an evil heart. Well, it mus-a been in Beaumont That he had his start –
Cause everything that hitler And mussolini do Negroes get the same Treatment from you
You jim crowed me Before hitler rose to power – And you’re still jim crowing me Right now, this very hour.
Yet you say we’re fightin For democracy. Then why don’t democracy Include me?
I ask you this question Cause I want to know How long I got to fight BOTH HITLER – AND JIM CROW.
