Hiding under the bed feels like the correct activity today.

Even while staying busy the whole weekend, dread still finds a way to slip in… just long enough to let me know: escape isn’t really an option.

It has awoken again — the enemy in me, that presence that encages me with walls and uncertainty... Careless, but oddly caring at the same time.

Will I find something greater within myself to humble it and prove my freedom?

I can see the cracks on my wall when I close my eyes. I can hear the thousand incomprehensible whispers and the agonizing scream.

What will remain of me if that crack widens and I stare into it deeply?
