This 300-500,000 year old handaxe from Chelles, France was deliberately knapped to highlight an embedded fossil shell. An early display of aesthetic awareness beyond pure function, among the earliest hints of artistic intent in human history.
This movie is startlingly bad in that can't-believe-it-exists way, which does kind of recommend it to brave and masochistic viewers. But there's a scene in it that I often think of: The slasher villain is killing sexually active girls, so there's this stupid montage of Rock Hudson asking every hot student if she's sexually active -- and this one kind of stonery blonde girl is like "OH MAN, WHAT!" and she starts laughing about hard as anyone has ever laughed before. They keep cutting back to her going "OH MAN, OH MY GOD" and laughing harder and harder and harder, and you can tell she's really winding herself up, like the laugh has become totally real, which makes it incredibly infectious. It must have been impossible to shoot that scene with her without losing your mind, it kind of justified the whole experience to me.
