I learned about posy rings today and they're so so romantic 🥺
They're gold finger rings with phrases/words engraved under the band that you'd gift someone special to you. Oftentimes, the phrase is something only the two people will know or is something special they want to say, etc. Some people say the words were written, as if the words would be imbued into the person's body through wearing the ring.
From the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, this circa 1300 gold ring is inscribed in Lombardic capitals, "Well for him who knows whom he can trust" The photo + desc is from the link listed below!
