i just need to have more rules for myself. more rules and limits. surely that will help me
SEBASTIAN STAN as BUCKY BARNES Captain America: The Winter Soldier THUNDERBOLTS*
im back with my bullshit
ever since i was a little girl i knew i wanted to isolate myself before others could exclude me
the perfect fanfic dynamic doesn't exis- oh wait, it does. go read my fic late at night, baby, you're my sign based off this scene đđ
look at freakatron go, heâs down so bad, probably wants to tear that whole shirt off
I have to say, heâs starting to outfreak the Recruiter with every new tiny detail people unearth about him
FREAKATRON B Y E
hey đ
Also them to Gihun-
everyone watching the season finale:
Joe Goldberg ass
Paparazzi is their song
i think one of the most criminally underexplored post-games dynamics is how inho would be completely brokeâand not like âstruggling to pay rentâ broke, but âyou betrayed the ultra-elite and now your entire financial existence has been erasedâ broke. entirely dependent on gihun and junho-level broke.
because he did betray the games. he let junho escape. he didnât kill gihun when he was supposed to. he hesitated. thatâs all it takes. somewhere up the ladder, someone sees the cracks and goes: âso the front man isnât as loyal as we thought. fine. cut him off.â
and suddenly, everythingâs gone.
the money he won back when he was a player? seized. whatever offshore accounts they funneled it into? wiped clean. his front man salary? untouchable, now that his nameâs flagged for internal betrayal. all the perksâchauffeurs, wine subscriptions, tailored suits, private clinicsâGONE. his accounts are frozen. no phone plan. no ID. no insurance. not even enough cash to buy ramen from a convenience store.
so now inho has nothing. no power. no safety net. heâs surviving on the soft, unstable mercy of gihunâs and junhoâs toleranceâand he knows it.
he canât even get a normal job. not a desk job, not night shifts at a warehouse, not anything. his rĂ©sumĂ© is a graveyard. ten years gone without explanation, unfillable. worse, his old position in the police didnât just endâit was terminated. it sits there like a stain on every application he starts and abandons. and what does he even have to offer now? surveillance techniques? gun training? staying quiet while people die?
just imagine inho (exâfront man, ex-millionaire) having to swallow his shame, look gihun in the eye, and ask, âcan i get this book on moral collapse and the futility of existence? itâs only 10,000 won.â like a teenager begging for pocket money. he shouldâve been smart enough to do what gihun did: smart enough to pull all his money out in cash. but no. and now heâs broke and forced to politely request permission to read about why everything is meaningless.
imo every time he wants something, it hurts his pride to ask. which is why gi-hun knows that if in-ho asks, it means he REALLY wants it, which is why gi-hun doesn't have it in his heart to say no to him.
maybe jun-ho can say no to in-ho from time to time. but I think gi-hun's "softer" than jun-ho.
and sometimes there's something in-ho REALLY wants but is too prideful to ask. so he just doesn't ask, maybe because he thinks it's silly, maybe because he thinks he's being a burden, maybe because he thinks he no longer deserves nice things. but somehow gi-hun can tell he wants that thing and buys him that anyway.
gi-hun's being kind and nice, out of love, yes, but it's also because gi-hun went through the same thing before. but for in-ho it just makes him pity and hate himself even more. it just makes him feel like he doesn't deserve gi-hun or jun-ho, that they're only kind to him because they pity him and see him as a responsibility. it's not true because they love him and are happy to help, but in-ho just has a lot of issues, most (if not all) of which involve self-hatred
and sometimes there's something in-ho REALLY wants but is too prideful to ask. so he just doesn't ask, maybe because he thinks it's silly, maybe because he thinks he's being a burden, maybe because he thinks he no longer deserves nice things. but somehow gi-hun can tell he wants that thing and buys him that anyway.
MY BRAIN INSTANTLY WENT TO INHO HAVING A SWEET-TOOTH. him sulking 24/7 because heâs craving something sugary but too proud to say anything. not even because itâs a big ask, but because it feels stupidâchildish, indulgent, unnecessary. he tells himself itâs not worth mentioning, not when theyâve already taken him in, already feed him, clothe him, let him stay. it feels greedy. shameful. like wanting more than survival means pretending he deserves comfort.
EXACTLY THIS đ
and somehow gihun knows (maybe junho tells him). so every time inho wants something sugary (but keeps it to himself), he always ends up finding it waiting for him on his bed, his pillow, etc. and gihun pretends it wasnât him who bought it, pretends he doesnât even see it conveniently waiting for inho at inhoâs favorite spot at the motel.
and inho doesnât know if he wants to thank gihun or if his stubborn pride wants to find the gesture offensive and condescending. but every time he ends up secretly enjoying his little sweets (and he dislikes that he enjoys it) and gihun pretends he doesnât see or notice anything as inho eats quietly.
bonus if inho gets a little overly energetic afterwards every time he has his candy, like a kid đ junho is there, shaking his head in silence.
junho to gihun: you deal with him. Iâm going to bed now.
gihun: [being forced to sit and listen to inho, high on sugar, yap excitedly about all his favourite books, but he doesnât dare interrupt because this is the first time he has seen inho look this excitable and itâs fucking cute]
bonus to ur bonus that is unrelated to sweets:
another thing inho absolutely refuses to ask for is hand cream, because inho is so deeply, stubbornly committed to suffering that his knuckles are literally split open by mid-December, and he still insists itâs ânot that bad.â
the thing about captain america the first avenger is that it tries really hard to sell the idea of Bucky being a macho womanizer. Too bad they cast Sebastian Stan, the master of sad longing gazes you'd normally only ever see in eastern european gay porn.
