Annatar had the best reference for the image of a noble elf who can definitely be trusted with anything
Melkor from Silmarillion that I did for the amazing Lucifer zine! (@the_cursed_zine on instagram)
The beaches of Valinor are dangerous.
My piece for @aoaanthology
Ingwe, Elwe and Finwe meeting the Valar. I’ve never worked on such a large piece digitally. It was a lot of trial and error. But I’m happy with how it turned out.
The book is still for sale!

do you like MY CROWN?😈
After Aredhel fell ill Maeglin would not leave her bedside; and when she died that same night he virtually lost everything he's ever known

The only god in the Tolkien pantheon (the Valar that is) who could feasibly understand what pain or disability is… hmmmmm Melkor or so I think!
Like you KNOW he starts filling that spiritual niche without even intending it. Like, prayers go out there. God of folks with chronic pain. God of folks in wheelchairs. God of folks who get laughed at in their human backwoods village for needing mobility aids (this is CANON don’t even come play on this post). God of folks with mental illnesses. God of folks with war trauma. God of folks who got their arms chopped off in the last big battle and would now like one of those cool armored prosthetics that Sauron’s workshop keeps churning out for the orcs
My hatred for the Disability as Punishment trope (like come on Jirt, you as a veteran should know better)
vs
the concept of worshipping a disabled god and what that means for a culture, especially a culture of warriors (that is, orcs) where life-changing injuries happen all the time! Like, Melkor mostly keeping on truckin’ after The Fingolfin Thing becomes a spot of hope for his troops and allies! If Morgoth Bauglir’s fine using a mobility aid, it must also not be a shameful thing for Foot Soldier Graagh of the 37th Thangorodrim Contingent! Can you imagine? Melkor as a spot of hope??
Imagine idols of Melkor as crafted by orcs or humans in places Morgoth is worshipped. Early on in the 1st age, most of them show him as warlike, in full armor, with Grond (think… most of the fanart on here). Later on you get more and more, say… emphasis on the charred hands. Depictions of him holding a cane or in Arda’s First Wheelchair. Or Melkor sitting and Sauron standing in the background, or with a hand on his shoulder, because that’s his emotional support Maia
