REMINDER: the zerg have evolved to withstand VERY harsh conditions such as temperature. in canon they dominated kaldir & char; two planets that are on extreme ends of the climate scale. KALDIR; a frozen wasteland, EXTREMELY cold, harsh winds & has daily / constant flash-freezes, species on kaldir still suffer during flash-freezes but the zerg do not. CHAR; a planet of lava, climate is EXTREMELY hot, mostly inhabitable due to the heat. both planets the zerg could withstand due to successful evolution.

the zerg very much resemble insects & several species of. when there is no queen to run the hive they choose; kerrigan being the chosen queen. when she under went changes into her primal zerg form, the zerg guarded her chrysalis until she was finished. everything about the zerg is organic, even kerrigan’s ship, the leviathan is organic: the walls pulse, zerg larvae burrowed within the floors & ceiling. zerglings travel through slimy tunnels. the leviathan is what holds everything to plant the hatcheries onto planets; the zerg multiply extremely fast under kerrigan’s control & can take over a planet in the matter of 72 hours.

can we also talk about how kerrigan can regenerate her limbs in the matter of seconds. as we’ve seen in heart of the swarm, she’s able to regenerate her limbs; this also goes with what i was saying earlier, how the zerg are very bug-like. as a PRIMAL zerg, kerrigan possesses an exoskeleton that’s her armour / serves as protection BUT NOT SUPPORT as most insects need it for. she still has a skeleton as any other humanoid.
