Why I Quit Posting

     It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything or replied to any messages. I didn’t mean to make a promise to my followers that I would help them find out their titles and do all these other things related to SBURB, only to not follow up on that promise, and I’m sorry for that. However I’m not making an otherwise post-daily-or-ever return to tumblr’s Homestuck theory community, but I do want to get this stuff off of my chest, because it does still mean something to me. I didn’t feel like I was making a difference.      I’d been told a couple of times that my theories and posts weren’t good enough, i.e, “It’s not particularly great or informative but it gets the job done.” Despite the tremendous support outweighing these criticisms, I started to believe the negativity. I tried to put more and more effort into title analyses, but everywhere I looked, there was an analysis that I felt was better than mine. So, that sucked. Beyond that, it takes so, so much time to help someone figure out their title, especially when they’re already right in the middle of giving up on the process. I didn’t like latching on to their uncertainty, and I didn’t want to dedicate my time and energy to multiple people like that. It almost became a sort of unhealthy obsession.      More popular and well-informed theorists made me feel like a shadow in the theory community. A lot of the time, I agreed with other people’s theories more than my own. I just stopped caring about this blog and my ideas about the comic and moved on as my life started to move in different directions. My theories and ideas kept changing.      And it frustrated me. Then I got bored with it all, you know? I needed other things in my life to fulfill me. I wanted to get a job (I did) and gear up for college (I am). I wanted to meet new people and do real substantial things, and I have been! I’m not a Mage of Void, or even a Void player for that matter.     I was too embarrassed to admit it after feeling like I knew for a long time where I fit in to this very fun and interesting yet unimportant spectrum of classes and aspects. The class is not true to me, and the aspect just doesn’t make sense and never really did; a fear of unreality, huh? Derealization is much more Space-related than Void and it was a reach to say it was Void at all. So after thinking about it, I concluded that I’m not inverted or anything, but I’m just a Rogue of Space with issues pertaining to physical reality and dreams. And for the sake of my sanity (and the God Tier merch I purchase), I refuse to analyze myself beyond that.       With these things being said, I’m doing very well. I’m still a fan of Homestuck, I played Hiveswap and loved it; the titles are still fun to talk about with people, but I’m just... done. And that feels good for me to say.

It really rubs me the wrong way whenever I see posts like “this God Tier is the most powerful player”. It seems like there are very few people who understand that any title has the potential to be the most powerful player. The word “God” is literally right there, and anyone who ascends literally has God Tier powers and abilities. A Page can defeat a Lord easily. Vice versa, etc.

Everyone has done fanart for Rose and Kanaya’s marriage (which is, on every single level, absolutely wonderful) but what about this beautiful moment as well? She’s so emotional over holding her infant genetic offspring, she’s crying. I just love it and the symbolism. <3 (You can just barely see it, but there’s a tear forming beneath her left eye)

Pronged Outfit Theory?

     As I was laying in bed, this thought crossed my mind and while I think it’s pretty dumb, I want to share it anyway.      Classes with multiple-pronged outfits are Active with single-pronged outfits being Passive.      Witches (-) have two long hoods; Heirs (+) have one. Thieves (-), Mages (-) and Maids (-) have a two-pronged tailcoat-like design. Princes (-) have a two-pronged cape. Rogues (+) and Seers (+) don’t. This is where it gets confusing: Sylphs do have a multiple-pronged outfit and Knights don’t (unless I’m missing something). Pages (+) don’t have any prongs anywhere (…unless I’m missing something). The Bard’s (+) outfit is very confusing as it is unless the codpiece or the tip of the hood counts as a single prong? (Again, unless I’m missing something). And then I lost all of the excitement I’d had for exactly 5 seconds.      I mean it still leaves 6 and 6, but that would mean that Knights are Passive and Sylphs are Active. Can I buy that? Yes. Should I buy it? Probably not… The Sylph as an Active Class seems plausible but I feel as if the Knight being a Passive Class makes little sense.      Edit!!!: The Lord’s cape is also pronged at the end!!!

Bringing this theory back from the dead because of the Lord outfit. I feel like I’m on to something. And the more I read Homestuck the more I feel as if the Sylph being Active may not be so far-fetched. The Muse’s outfit is also as leveled as can be! I still can’t quite get a perfect read on the Knight though but maybe that just means the Knight is a flexible Class.

This makes me believe that the Heir invites/allows inheriting of Aspect and can manipulate physical aspects of it as well. Here we see John give a regular old car the power of flight, and is seemingly able to control where it goes (or maybe WV is controlling it), not too long after ascending the God Tiers. The more I reread, the less clear some alignments on the Active/Passive scale and exact pairings become, although I suppose in retrospect it doesn’t really matter. Edit: I think WV IS controlling it, which would be much more fitting if the Heir is indeed Passive. (Another pattern I’ve recognized is that certain opposite Aspect pairings get along well. Time/Doom and Space/Life, Void/Heart and Light/Mind, Blood/Space and Breath/Time, etc.) Source for John/Vriska convo

Something important to consider when deciding your title: it WILL challenge you. Kanaya, a Sylph of Space, understands her opposing Aspect more so than Space at the very beginning of it all. (It seems Space and Blood players generally get along well with one another and understand each other. Dolorosa, Sufferer, Karkat, Jade, Kanaya, Porrim, Kankri, etc)

Depression, hiatus, and other things. - Slight TW?

     I’m not comfortable saying this anymore because I’ve said it so many times already while running this blog, but it apparently needs to be said again. I don’t want to be all edgy Mage of Voidy and leave all 315+ of you confused and in the dark forever. Thanks to what seems to be recurring depression (I’ve been struggling with it for years) due to new medicinal treatments - among other external events and internal processes that are too personal to mention - I’ve lost interest in many, many things that used to bring me joy, namely writing and being informational/helpful.      In all honesty, I believe this bout of negativity is temporary, as it usually is. But until I feel 100% up to the task of running this ever growing blog, I just can’t do it consistently, and I’m definitely not forcing myself to do it. The good news is that I’m re-reading Homestuck (on page 3467) and as I do so, I’m learning a LOT of forgotten things! Seers being the Class who can hear their exiles the clearest, relationships between the characters and how their Classes and Aspects play into said relationships, how SBURB works and how titles influence the flow of reality, etc. So I’ll be a lot better at this when I come back. For now I invite any and all to peruse what I’ve already analyzed here. Who would win in a fight, a Witch of Breath or an Heir of Void? (Fully realized)

     Any fully realized God Tiered players are dangerous and on equal ground. It really comes down to how they use their abilities and when.     A fully ascended Witch of Breath can harness the power of the wind without any trouble, making them very hard to get close to if they’re using it for defensive and offensive purposes, creating tornadoes and giant storms. They may even be able to suffocate their target to death using this ability, though that ability may be more akin to a Thief of Breath. They may also be able to manipulate other sides of Breath, such as freedom and inspiration.      A fully ascended Heir of Void, however, could likely become nothingness (going beyond just turning invisible) and reform at will, teleporting and making them very difficult to touch as well. It wouldn’t be hard for such an Heir to sneak up on a Witch and kill them. They may be able to shroud the entire area in darkness or take away the Witch’s ability to know their surroundings.     This is a very, very difficult call for me. But based on powers alone, I feel the Heir has the upper advantage.

     I haven’t, which is cool because this title is an interesting one and I’m excited to get into it!     The Heir is the Passive manipulation/change Class with the Witch being its Active counterpart. Unlike the Witch who takes charge of their Aspect and molds it into what they desire, the Heir invites that change and allows it to happen on its own time. Heirs can become their Aspect, *like how John was able to become wind. While their abilities seem to resonate best within the people they influence, *they can also control their Aspect actively, but not to the extent of a Witch.     Light is the Aspect of fortune, knowledge, sight, visibility, anything and everything. It governs information and what we know as well as what will be known. Those who are gifted with this Aspect seem to either suffer or enjoy their own unique brand of hubris, although this isn’t always the case. Luckily, Light players are very intelligent people who normally wish to do the right thing; they can be beneficial to just about any session should they use their lucky-knowy arsenal right!      This Heir comes across as a classy individual who prefers things to be organized and everyone to be mindful and mannered, and they may even be a little uptight about this. Polite, they are a very kind individual themselves as well. However, they could have a bit of a superiority complex stemming from a lack of confidence in what they do. A bit of a perfectionist, they attract like-minded people like a magnet.      As they become more and more realized, so will their lucky potential. They will become progressively more surrounded by fortune and knowledge, inviting fortuitous change in others, making them a literal physical manifestation of a lucky charm to their team. They can also become light itself, and it’s unlikely that this Heir could ever be killed by any ordinary enemy because of their great amount of luck.     To keep them from overindulging, recruit somebody they will trust and listen to to keep them grounded, like a Rogue of Mind or a Knight of Void. Both of them are tough and realistic, but also very kind and thoughtful.

The Official GGT FAQ! (Small because I usually answer everything else normally)

           Q: Can I submit a session?

     A: It depends! Keep in mind that session requests are longer and more difficult for me to complete than anything else and I’m one of the few slightly-more-known people who do them, so I get a LOT when I start taking them. Just make sure that my Askbox/Submissionbox links are right at the bottom of my description. If they aren’t visible or my Askbox link says “CURRENTLY NOT TAKING SESSION REQUESTS!”, then I’m not taking Session requests (or any questions if the links are gone).      I will ask that from now on, please keep the Anonymous setting OFF when asking me about sessions. It makes it easier for me to reach out to you so I can make sure that your session analysis is totally accurate or was what you were expecting. I do this often with submitters! My session player limit is 12!

     Q: I’m not sure if you answer this kind of thing, but...

     A: Don’t be shy! I LOVE answering questions and giving my opinion on anything Classpect and even things non-Homestuck related.
