âOHH youâre following me, oUUhhh I didnât know that!â
It brings me such joy that people seem to have always done the *sputters and blows raspberries like youâre having a stroke* thing when they stammer
I donât know if Iâll EVER stop crying abt this.
We are all Kathryn

paige, eva, reeve, and patrick reminding us that itâs necessary to lose your mind to wait for me ii every once in a while
things about this video that iâll never get over:
- reeve absolutely losing it
- patrick shouting âIM COMINGGGGâ
- paigeâs PRIMAL SCREAM when evaâs part came up
- eva going FERAL
- patrick looking like a middle aged dad chaperoning a high school prom
- patrick CLAPPING like a middle aged dad chaperoning a high school prom
- again, reeve laughing so hard heâs unable to stand up straight
- reeve pointing at eva as she belts the last part
- the sheer chaotic energy of it all
when iâm watching this video, for a second, everything is right with the world

If you heard of writer's block, get ready for reader's block. You want to read. You have time. You know what to read; how have a pile of books ready to be read. You cannot sit still and focus enough to do so or you can't even open the book.
âLater, we lay on the riverbank, learning the lines of each otherâs bodies anew. This, and this and this.â
pg 105
âHis hand drifted down to the vee at the base of my throat, drew softly across the pulse. âWhat about this? Have I told you what I think of this, just here?â
âNo,â I said.
âThis surely, then.â His hand moved across the muscles of my chest; my skin warmed beneath it. âHave I told you of this?â
âThat you have told me.â My breath caught a little as I spoke.
âAnd what of this?â His hand lingered over my hips, drew down the line of my thigh. âHave I spoken of it?â
âYou have.â
âAnd this? Surely, I would not have forgotten this.â His catâs smile.âTell me I did not.â
âYou did not.â
âThere is this, too.â His hand was ceaseless now. âI know I have told you of this.â
pg 182
âThe memories well up like spring-water, faster than I can hold them back. They do not come as worms, but like dreams, rising as scent from the rain-wet earth. This, I say. This and this. The way his hair looked in summer sun. His face when he ran. His eyes, solemn as an owl at lessons. This and this and this. So many moments of happiness, crowding forward.â
pg 367
Richard: Oh, you wanna read something?
Richard: Why don't you read MY DICK?!?
James: I'm not going to read your dick.
James: I don't read short stories.
one day iâd just like a novel-length fic of what if we were villains would have been if it had been a shakespearean comedy:
weâre talking much ado and as you like it instead of lear and ceasar, and msd and twelfth night instead of macbeth and r&j
copious amounts of cross-dressing, and the angst comes only from oliver being sexually confused by james in lipstick and heels and meredith wearing a rapierÂ
but also james a benedick and meredith as beatrice, tennant and tate style, oliver would die
richard is the perpetual falstaff character and is only moody when people donât laugh at his jokes
pip would make such a good rosalind oh my god are you kidding me
alexander could be jacques if he needed too, or do a double act as both the fool and jacques
wren as hero or celia ofc, but iâd also lover her as viola tbhÂ
basically all i want is for them to graduate on the high of having made out with everyone on stage and just a little bit glad they donât have to live with each other anymoreÂ
âif we were villainsâ:Â the miniseries. only on netflix.
so i broke and made one of those netflix edits for iwwv because this book doesnât have enough content so ig i gotta make it my gosh darn self

If you ever want to go on an absolutely beautiful yet heart wrenching journey, listen to any of Sleeping At Lastâs music. Sit or lie in the dark, close your eyes and just listen.
i canât shut up about this any longer
iâve finished if we were villains today and i really hate that they never did hamlet...
imagine James as Hamlet??? think about how well he matches the character, especially later in the book when what heâs done is catching up with him!
and do i even have to mention that oliver would obv be horatio? the one who didnât leave hamletâs side, even when the latter was going nuts??
and for the sake of your own sanity, please donât think about them doing hamlet instead of king lear, so that their tender moment would have been the âgood night, sweet princeâ scene?
The Hero & The Sidekick
âThe two of you. I never understood it.â âNeither did we. It was easier not to.â
âWere you in love with him?â
âYes,â I say, simply. James and I put each other through the kind of reckless passions Gwendolyn once talked about, joy and anger and desire and despair. [...] âYes, I was.â Itâs not the whole truth. The whole truth is, Iâm in love with him still.
"Be ruled by me,â I said, a few lines too soon. âForget to think of her"
âThe wheel is come full circle; I am here.â âWorthy prince, I knowât.â
- If we were villains by M.L.Rio
â And when I was younger,
I knew a boy and a boy
Best friends with each other,
But always wished they were more.
'Cause they loved one another,
But never discovered
'Cause they were too afraid
Of what they'd say. â
âșâș Oliver Marks & James Farrow ; If We Were Villains.
regarding james and meredithâs kiss:Â
this is easily explained by RenĂ© Girardâs theory of mimetic desire.Â
RenĂ© Girard is actually mentioned in IWWV a few times, being the author of the book Theatre of Envy, which Oliver spends the entirety of the story reading. Itâs a very very dense book, in which Girard basically takes his theory of mimetic desire and applies it to a handful of Shakespeare plays and some of the sonnets.Â
the theory can be summarized by:Â
âWe borrow our desires from others. Far from being autonomous, our desire for a certain object is always provoked by the desire of another personâthe modelâfor this same object. This means that the relationship between the subject and the object is not direct: there is always a triangular relationship of subject, model, and object. Through the object, one is drawn to the model, whom Girard calls the mediator: it is in fact the model who is sought.â
so, long story short, James and Meredith angrily make out with each other because, for a moment, they desire each other (they are each otherâs object) because they both desire (and are desired by) Oliver, their mediator.Â
thatâs all bye
