you KNOW olethra’s estrogen was good because her mom home baked that shit
And if i said SOME people's refusal to even entertain the idea of Annie being a career is a perfect example of people wanting a "perfect victim" and not understanding what nuance is.
wealwell is so gilear coded
“and while lenore dove will forever be my true love, louella is my one and only sweetheart.”
that line hits so hard when you realize how quickly he was calling katniss sweetheart. through katniss’ eyes, it seemed insincere at first, almost like haymitch was mocking her. but now we truly know haymitch wouldn’t just throw that around. he truly cared for her from the start.
im gonna pass out
beetee latier came up with one singular plan ever to defeat the hunger games and canonically tried to make it work TWICE despite the fact that it literally blew up in his face the first time.
this officially makes him the world’s most accurate fictional scientist because he HAS a favorite hypothesis that he IS going to make sure works even if it fucking kills him
This YouTube comment has been on my mind since I finished SOTR so this is what I came up with:
Lucy Gray was the mockingbird, living on the outskirts of district 12 and was there at the wrong time when they were forced to stay there after the Dark Days. They were subjected to the Capitol’s politics despite not being a part of Panem, technically speaking. Lucy Gray became part of the Games and, likewise, the mockingbird became affiliated with the Capitol through the jabberjay’s release into the woods, but it still continued to sing its own song.
Haymitch was the jabberjay, a Capitol tool that did what it had to in order to survive. The Capitol thought they could control them, but they retaliated in the form of rebellion. Haymitch refused to be a piece in their game and tried to end it, and the jabberjay, in the eyes of the Capitol, created a freak of nature that showed the Capitol’s lack of complete control.
Katniss was the mockingjay, a slap in the face of the Capitol, something that was never meant to exist. Together, the song of the mockingbird that lived on for generations and the stubbornness of the jabberjay that refused to die, the mockingjay had the best of both worlds. It was a symbol of rebellion and unity.
you don't "hate kids," you hate being forced into a caretaking role.
you don't "hate kids," you hate censorship passed off as family values.
you don't "hate kids," you hate the constrictiveness of the nuclear family.
you don't "hate kids," you're just not used to occupying fully age diverse spaces so you're not used to the noise or the many different kinds of needs.
you don't "hate kids," most public spaces just aren't built for kids, and so the few kids you see are always uncomfortable and distressed.
you don't "hate kids," you hate the intense social rules assigned to kids and anyone who interacts with kids.
You don't "hate kids," you hate how society reproduces its most restrictive elements and how kids are powerless to resist it.
There is both a supernatural and a rational explanation for every major event in Yellowjackets. Lottie walking safely over the pit trap might be the Wilderness intervening to protect her—or it could be that Travis accidentally covered it with too many sticks when resetting it, just enough to support her weight. The cave visions could represent the Wilderness trying to communicate—or they might be hallucinations caused by carbon dioxide/poisonous gas exposure. The birds crashing into the cabin in Season 2 might be the Wilderness offering a sacrifice in response to Shauna’s accidental bloodletting onto the symbol blanket—or, as Misty and Nat suggest, the birds could have been diseased or thrown off course by iron deposits in the ground. Lottie speaking French during the cabin séance could be the spirit of Cabin Guy possessing her—or a trauma response, with her preexisting mental health condition triggering dissociation and emotional dysregulation, causing fragmented memories (like her high school French classes) to surface. And so on!
I hope they keep things open-ended and ambiguous like this, where every event can be interpreted in two opposing ways. It’s so fun to experience Yellowjackets as two different shows at once—one steeped in the supernatural, and the other grounded in psychological realism and trauma responses. The ability to shift between these perspectives (or hold both simultaneously) not only deepens the mystery, but makes the entire viewing experience so much more compelling.
"i don't comment on ao3 because i don't wanna be annoying or weird" skill issue + you greatly underestimate the power dynamic here, writing multi paragraph comments is like feeding a bunch of deeply insane and possibly starved ducks at the park and watch them go completely mad over having received a piece of bread
cant believe frank castle got to see matthew michael murdock with his ass hanging out but i did not. what kind of criminal bs is that.

idk if it was the writers intentionally setting up conflict for next season or if it was unintentional (i rlly hope it was intentional). but like, robby gave mohan that big speech abt knowing when to dive deeper with ur patients VS when its best to just treat them and move onto the next one.
we SEE him develop personal bonds with some of his patients, particularly his white patients. whereas all the patients he was advising mohan to move on from were al BIPOC, specifically WOC, who are historically dealt shit cards when it comes to quality healthcare.
and this isn’t me saying that i think dr. robby is a raging racist just pointing out that he’s white man working in medicine, internationalized biases come with territory. it’s something that can and should be called out (preferably by mohan, it’s what he deserves for being up here ASS abt it)
Something about Matt’s apartment, the embodiment of his new life, literally blowing up as he embraces his role as Daredevil and returns to himself.
