Rituals & Quirks That Turn Sims Into Characters
Traits alone don't make a sim feel like a person — habits do. Here's a list of little rituals I give my sims so their days stop looking identical. Pick one or two per sim, be consistent, and watch a personality appear out of nowhere.
A morning jog, every morning, no matter the weather.
A cup of tea before work — leaving without it is simply not done.
Cartoons after school, homework can wait.
Late-night online chat on PC.
Social rules they live by
Never eats alone. If there's no one home, they invite someone over or go out.
Keeps the same childhood friends from kids' birthdays all the way to elder rocking chairs.
Romance happens only at parties. Weekday flirting? Unthinkable.
Helps the neighbours plant their gardens — every seedling in the street has their fingerprints on it.
Throws a party after every single promotion.
Or the quieter version: donates to charity after every promotion instead.
Bakes something every weekend — the fridge is a monument to Saturday.
The weird ones (my favourites)
Gives away everything they craft, like they're forever fulfilling commissions no one placed.
Drinks only potions. Water is for other people.
Never cooks. Not once. Takeaway, leftovers, other people's kindness.
Collects cacti. Just cacti. Ask them about it at your own risk.
Keeps a basement full of... something. Paintings. Collectibles. Possibly stolen goods. We don't go down there.
What rituals do your sims have? I want to steal them.
