Wolpertingers and Jackalopes
In German folklore, a wolpertinger is an animal said to inhabit the alpine forests of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany.
The jackalope is a mythical animal of North American folklore described as a jackrabbit with antelope horns. The word jackalope is a portmanteau of jackrabbit and antelope. Many jackalope taxidermy mounts, including the original, are made with deer antlers.
These are beauties because of their designs!! They are gorgeous creatures!
Mokele-mbembe and Altamaha-ha
DescriptionIn cryptozoology, the Mokele-mbembe is a water-dwelling entity that lives in the Congo River Basin, sometimes described as a living creature, sometimes as a spirit.
He is so lonely looking, I wanna give him a hug :) This creature was also considered during the uprising in fascination in dinosaurs, which explains the appearance of this magnificent beast.
In Georgia folklore, the Altamaha-ha is a legendary creature, alleged to inhabit the myriad small streams and abandoned rice fields near the mouth of the Altamaha River in southeastern Georgia. Sightings are particularly reported around Darien and elsewhere in McIntosh County.
I have always been interested in this concept, and it reminds me of a manatee/sea cow!!
Mothman and Loveland Frog
In West Virginia folklore, the Mothman is a creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register dated November 16, 1966, titled “Couples See Man-Sized Bird … Creature … Something”.
In Ohio folklore, the Loveland frog is a legendary humanoid frog described as standing roughly 4 feet tall, allegedly spotted in Loveland, Ohio.
