i always see people on here complaining that "planes bite i had one once and it bit me" and "planes are too skittish to be safe around young kids" and even shit like "we should abolish our city's airport because we shouldn't be encouraging people to go out and get a plane!!!!!!" sure okay. tell me you don't know how to properly socialize your aircraft without telling me

And it's so easy to avoid getting bitten by planes too! It's so sad that most people don't seem to know this.

If you see the flashing red light, that means the plane's prey drive is active and it is NOT safe to approach as you are likely to be bitten.

However, once the light is off and the plane is comfortably settled into its nest surrounded by a familiar set of chocks and cones it becomes very friendly and is perfectly safe to approach and even pet!

You may notice in the background another plane being led along on a towbar, however this is only safe to do by a trained handler who has rendered the plane docile with the use of a bypass pin and a proper blessing from ATC.

And most small airplanes are gentle, curious critters. Little Cessnas and Pipers being the most tame, which is why they're popular among new aviators. They may still nip if they're mishandled, most will give plenty warning before hand.

Cirruses tho, they're the untrained chihuahuas of little planes, mainly because their owners don't train them or fly them regularly. They'll bite even their mechanics. A properly trained Cirrus can make a great companion, provided they have room to roam.

When are people going to start learning how to read plane body language??? They give SO MANY warning signs before they bite. Also does anyone remember that trend of people pissing off their Cirruses to make them snap???????? Awful
