hello!! my name is nix or starburst/starb! he/him, love/loves, or star/stars, and i'm in my 20s. this is where i post about my original characters! i'm primarily a furry artist so pretty much all of my stories revolve around furry characters in various different settings. i recommend reading my extended about for more information about me and this blog!

when it comes to grievance also i think "why specifically gods?" is a great question to ask, considering a lot of the story doesn't actually revolve around the typical imagery or.. i guess just general notions that usually surround the concept of fictional gods. and part of it is just a holdover from the fact that when i was a kid i made my fursona an all powerful world-destroying god, which is something i think a lot of people who grew up drawing and writing can definitely relate to (though for me personally i think you can read into the motivations of why i'd want to depict myself as something so powerful and otherworldly and why that kind of remains a theme in my writing to this day.. i try to ride the line between hinting towards the things in my life that inspire a lot of the autobiographical aspects of my work without being too overly personal and laying everything about my life bare, because i want people to come to their own conclusions about how they relate to my experiences through this fictionalized lens)

the story would certainly work in almost any other setting. but there's also intentionality to presenting them as gods that ties into the above parentheses- it's to both keep with the unusual and "out of this world" feeling i want the story to have, and it's also about power dynamics. when you imagine gods you imagine this idealized... idea of a person. you imagine something perfect. i think people are drawn to the ideas of gods because people have always strived to BE perfect in some way. so when you take this idea of a perfect being and then say "well, there's actually people who claim to be More perfect and they control aspects of the lives of these other people"... hopefully you can see where i'm going with that and how you can relate. you can be your most perfect idealized self and still be told by someone higher up on the chain than you that you're just not doing it right

finally finished up these little visual story guides i've been working on for most of today!! i think they turned out really cute, and hopefully they can be an easy way to learn about the stuff i write ^_^
