5 dl milk
50 g yeast
1 ts salt
2 dl sugar
1 tbs cardemom
950g wheat flour
200g butter
raisins/dried cranberries
1 egg for basting
granulated sugar op top
Heat the milk to 40C.
Add yeast, salt and sugar with cardamom. Stir well.
Add half of the flours and stir forcefully.
Add softened or melted butter and the rest of the flour.
Knead the dough until it is resilient.
Cover the bowl and let it rest in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size (~30-45 minutes)
Pour the dough on to a table that has been dusted with flour and make balls or any other shapes of your own choice.
Put the pullas on an oven pan covered with baking paper, cover and let them rise for about 15-30 mins.
Baste the pullas with a whisked egg and sprinkle granulated sugar on top. You can also add a small chip of butter in the middle.
Bake at 200C for 12-15 minutes.
Serve with cold milk :P
