Third Time's The Charm
My first attempt at the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge ended prematurely due to a corrupted save file. My second attempt ended when my computer needed to be sent into the shop for repairs, and they had to reinstall Windows, which erased all my data.
So, as they say... Third time's the charm! 🤞🍀
Everyone, it's my pleasure to introduce Jade Gardener, the founder of the Gardener Legacy and our Broccoli sim for this challenge! As per the rules, she has the creative, art-lover, and high-maintenance traits. Her aspiration in life is to become the Lady of the Knits, and she loves green!
Jade moves onto an empty plot of land in Magnolia Promenade—it seems like a good spot to start a business, after all. She goes fishing and makes §16 by selling two fish. Our first earnings!
With our hard-earned §16, we head to the Flea Market in San Myshuno. It's a long shot, but maybe we can buy something cheap as our very first possession!
Unfortunately, there was nothing at the Flea Market for §16, so Jade decided to work on her painting skill instead. Hopefully we can max it someday and cross it off as one of our three creative skills for this generation!
The city locals are friendly, and Jade is happy to make conversation with passersby. Networking is key to making a good business, and she needs to find someone to help kick off the legacy part of this legacy challenge, after all.
This guy named Julius stole the food we bought with our §16 right after I took this screenshot :(
Jade entered a karaoke contest at the karaoke bar but didn't win. Maybe she can max out her singing skill, too, and come back to claim the prize someday?
The next day, after selling some posters she found in San Myshuno, Jade uses a public grill to make some baked potatoes for breakfast.
And then we got free money from a dead lady. Hooray!
We have a house thanks to the generous dead lady, and Julius immediately invited himself over to admire our rocking chair. I don't like Julius very much, but Jade does. It's a shame. She can do so much better than him.
Once she manages to shoo Julius away from the rocking chair, Jade gets started on her knitting aspiration. She's not very good yet, but that's what practice is for!
Jade also wants to learn how to tattoo, so we used the last of our simoleons to get her a tablet and start sketching a design. All in all, I think this legacy is off to a good start! Here's hoping I don't run into any more technical difficulties, and I can actually make it past the Broccoli Gen this time –.–

While waiting to see if anyone wants to buy her knitted objects on Plopsy, Midori tries her hand at flower arranging. Perhaps we can sell some vases of flowers once we start our business!
Oh, look at that, a visitor! I think Count Straud has heard that we're engaged to a werewolf. He looks like he has some strong opinions on the matter.
Now that's just rude.
He didn't even have the decency to carry her to bed. What a prick. No wonder we picked a werewolf over a bloodsucker like Vlad!!

Allabie the rabbit hasn't come around in a while (I worry the wild foxes might've got him 😢), but we have a new friend named Panda to hang out with now, and Midori even knitted him a lil' outfit to keep him warm!
When she's not knitting outfits for the local rabbit population, Midori takes a trip to Moonwood Mill to visit her fiancé at work. They're so cute reading together!! <3
When she was bored with reading, Midori tried her hand at fishing until she got a ✨mysterious phonecall✨ about some inheritence she'd received, which means...
It's time for a house upgrade!! Yay! We probably have enough to start a business soon and get those Broccoli Gen rules really rolling.
Speaking of which... Congratulations to Midori for maxing her knitting skill!! She hasn't finished the aspiration yet, but we'll get there.
She does love her cozy rainy-day knitting sessions, after all <3

It's Love Day, and that means a trip to Moonwood Mill so that Midori can complete the holiday traditions with her big ol' teddybear of a boyfriend! 🩷🩷
Oh, Wolfgang, I appreciate the effort, but mistletoe is usually for Winterfest...
Holiday mix-ups aside, the date was perfect, and Midori went home with an adorable photograph to decorate her teeny-tiny house.
Her teeny-tiny house even has a kitchen now! Midori is glad to have a way to cook something that isn't raw produce she found on the ground or grilled mushrooms. Looks like we'll be eating a lot of garden and fruit salads in the coming days!
Making friends with the local rabbit population has led Midori to realise she... likes cats? I guess fuzzy animals are fuzzy animals no matter how you look at it.
Wolfgang called to invite us to drink sakura tea at the Romance Festival in San Myshuno, and how could we say no to that cutie patootie? Cheers to a long and successful romance, Wolfgang! 🥂🌸
Hello, there. Do you think you might be able to do your push-ups somewhere else? We're trying to have a romantic evening, thank you very much.
hmmmmmmm 🤔💍
Oh, go on then. It'll make for a fun story to pass down to future generations.
He said yes :)

Midori is getting a decent head start on her knitting aspiration. She's already so good she doesn't need to look at what she's doing!
More Allabie because I love him <3 <3
When Midori got hungry today, she decided to treat herself by grilling some mushrooms instead of eating random junk she foraged out of the grass. Bone apple teeth!! 🤌
The grilled mushrooms put her in the mood to meditate, and she breezed through the first few levels of her wellness skill. We'll have to invest in a yoga mat soon so she can work on her muscle tone to compete with her werewolf boyfriend!
... I was wondering how quickly Midori would tire of leftover grilled mushrooms, but she already looks like she's at her limit.
She decides to get over her grumpiness about repeat meals by playing Snow White with the local bird population, which cheers her up significantly. Visiting my local aviary and playing with birds always makes me feel better, too.

After a mysterious dead person mysteriously left us a bunch of simoleons, Midori Fielder finally has a roof over her head! It's a sweet little thatched roof to match the rest of Henford-on-Bagely, but still fits the green theme for her status as Broccoli founder!
It's a bit dark and creepy at the moment because windows and lights are expensive, but we'll slowly upgrade it as we get more money.
Oh! Someone has heard about our new house! Sure, secret admirers sound fun. We'll have to start this Legacy somehow, after all!
Aww, it's Wolfgang! He's the librarian in Moonwood Mill and always seems like a big ol' teddybear of a man. Not... not when he's rampaging around in werewolf form, but... y'know, well, nobody is perfect.
Midori's first priority with her secret admirer is, of course, teaching him how to knit.
Okay, we did get a bit of romance in there, too. Good job, Midori! Gotta start practising your romance skill so you can pass it down to the Eggplant generation next.
Allabie is still here, and he is still the best bunny ever :3
I have never used this "Mystical" trait, so... yeah, sure, why not? Midori the Mystic. Sounds fun!

Everybody, meet Midori Fielder! She's the Broccoli Founder for my new Very Veggie Legacy (rules here), since the old one isn't opening for me anymore ☹️.
Midori is a big fan of boho/outdoorsy fashion, and she loves the colour green. Here's to the start of the amazing Fielder Legacy!!
Midori's story starts in Henford-on-Bagely, an appropriately green world for a woman of her tastes. She gets to work at once, foraging for things to plant, eat, and sell.
... Or, you know, things we can give to wild rabbits. That works too.
I've changed my mind! The bunny can have everything we find and anything else it wants! It's soooooo cuteeee!!! 😍
Midori likes gardening. This will be useful for growing food and presents for bunnies.
So much foraging means Midori has already levelled up enough to summon a privy bush. We won't ever have to leave the lot at this rate!
Built a pond as well. The only things we have to our name are a hastily-planted garden and a mailbox, but that won't stop us! With the bounties of the Earth at our fingertips, the Fielder Legacy will prevail!
Bunny bestie is back. His name is Allabie now, and he's going to help with the garden!
Trashley came to visit, too. I think they know we're supposed to start a small business for this challenge, so they're offering their expertise. Good job, Trashley! Appreciate it.
oh thank god we can actually build something resembling a house now

Those of you who know my Main Blog might recall a little "side-story" of sorts that I made in The Sims 4 using the four Mechi clones from my RimWorld game. In said RimWorld game, nominally evil clone Lansa is currently M.I.A. and I missed him, so I booted up the Sims save to see how he's doing in there.
The first thing he did was call Tokori from the literally the other bunk bed to ask about childhood memories (I haven't opened this save since Adventure Awaits came out).
Tokori, probably annoyed at being woken for something stupid (since all the Jones boys have the exact same childhood memories, y'know, because they're CLONES), reminded Lansa that he was a "lil' techie" and, as a result, is very good at computers and such.
What a surprise.
Sims 4 Tokori seems to be having a grand time with all ten of his fingers intact. Necromancy isn't really necessary in The Sims, since anyone with a high enough cooking skill can resurrect someone, and the Grim Reaper is pretty chill, all things considered.
Mechi was doing his brotherly duty of annoying his siblings while they were using the computer, but I needed Tokori to level up his programming skill, so Mechi was banished to the backyard shed, where we have a new workbench to play with...
A robotics station!! Maybe someday the Jones boys will build a sapient robot in the Sims, too. It won't be anywhere near as cool as Alistair and Cora in RimWorld, but I think the servos are neat so I'd like one nonetheless.
Kwahu and Lansa bond over a breakfast of fruit salad and a deep conversation about brilliant ideas and logic puzzles. How sweet!
After breakfast, Kwahu decides to challenge some of his old flings to an online game of Party Frenzy. He kicks all their asses because he's just a badass like that. Lansa was there for moral support, but he was primarily focused on his photography book.
Once Kwahu had won the game, he stepped outside to take care of Acorn the mini-goat. Yes, she's still here, and I still love her to bits. Look at her!!!!! ❤️🐐
I kind of forgot that Sims 4 Tokori is a merman lmao. He's very pretty <3
Mechi and Kwahu have to go to their tech-guru job now, but Tokori and Lansa haven't gotten around to getting jobs yet, so they get to stay home and play video games. Good for them!

Violetto's last proper picture as an infant. Here comes toddlerhood!
We need a purple cake swatch...
He randomised into the independent trait (thank goodness) and he's SO CUTE!!!
Though I'll admit... he does have his spooky moments. The glowing vampire eyes are certainly something.
Violetto is enjoying his new ability to climb on the furniture and babble/blow kisses at his dad. Adorable!!
Speaking of dad, Jasper and Caleb are very dutiful parents who leave their toddler upstairs on his own for hours on end while they attend to their business/cat. Good job, guys. 🙄
Aw, look! All the citizens (or former citizens, in Caleb's case) of Forgotten Hollow in Tomarang tonight <3
Despite being momentarily abandoned by his dads, Violetto has found comfort in Aubergine the teddy bear.
Robin, we have a small child to take care of. Go away.
All's well that ends well. Spooky vampire toddler and his spooky orange kitty, safe and sound with no understanding that they nearly just got robbed <3 <3

Violetto does NOT like homemade hummus. I suppose I should have seen that coming. Something described as "garlicky" does not sound like the best food to be feeding a baby vampire, in hindsight.
In other news, Jasper has maxed the wellness skill! Hooray! Now on to all the other rules for the broccoli gen!
But first: bathtime!! This is Violetto's first bubble bath, but he seems more interested in the ducky than the bubbles. I don't blame him. I like duckies too.
Violetto learned how to grab, which means he can now play with a dollhouse! He looks so small beside it 💜
We managed to get the whole family in one room for a Winterfest photo, even Mango the cat! I do think it's perhaps not the best parenting to let your exhausted infant go to sleep in the grubby kitchen floor while you eat Christmas dinner, but I'm not a parent, so what would I know?
Auntie Lilith also came over for Winterfest, but spent most of her time in Jasper and Caleb's bedroom, using their computer. Perhaps I should pop into her house in Forgotten Hollow and buy her a computer of her own.
And, with his ascention to toddlerhood imminent, Violetto starts practising how to stand on his chubby lil' legs!! Hopefully one day he can zip around at ridiculous speeds, just like his vampire dad <3

Mango is helping Caleb with Violetto's tummy time this morning. I think it's going well?
Aunty Lilith came over to meet her new nephew, and she seems to approve! I hope she's a cool auntie who comes to hang out lots.
Hooray!!! All that practice with Caleb (and Mango) paid off, and Violetto can roll over on his own now. What a cutie patootie.
You know what that means, don't you? Time to learn how to SIT! :D
Wow, he picked that up fast. He doesn't seem thrilled about it, though. Maybe he's hungry. To the high chair!
This just in: baby vampire approves of ice cream!! I wonder if it comes in plasma fruit flavour?
First | Next | Previous
Ahhhh! They grow up so fast!! Violetto is an infant already, which is sort of a good thing. He didn't do much when he was a baby.
And, just like his papa, little Violetto is a vampire! It's very nice because now I can give him these glowy purple eyes in the name of the Eggplant Generation, and he can be a broody vampire hearthrob and complete his Villainous Valentine aspiration easy-peasy!
He also aged up with this neat lil' birthmark on his face, which I thought was cute af. Look at himmmm!!! 💜💜💜
Violetto is NOT a fan of tummy time, apparently, but he'll have to make do. Boy needs to hit those milestones somehow!
The first bath milestone is quickly achieved. I think baby Violetto is on his way to being a kindred spirit with my bath-obsessed RimWorld colonist, Tokori, on the main blog!
Jasper is happy to let Caleb do most of the parenting for the moment. He's a bit too busy with much more important things, like knitting and singing in the shower.
Mango is still here, enjoying her new grown-up ability to jump on the couch to sleep instead of sleeping on the floor.
You know there's a special cat house just for you right there, don't you, Mango?

Jasper and Caleb are home from the hospital, and immediately celebrate the birth of their son by kissing in the rain. How romantic! ❤️
As soon as Jasper goes inside to feed baby Violetto, Mango the cat decides she isn't getting enough attention on our baby's birthday and promptly has a birthday of her own.
Steal the spotlight, why don't you? Silly Mango.
You STILL don't think you're getting enough attention?? Alright. I know how hard it is to be the older sibling with sudden new babies around (happened to me four times, I totally get it). Let's go on a trip to the vet, hm?
Dear god! Not Overheated Sniffer!! 😱
Give us the best treatment you've got, doc!
And now Mango is all better! Let's go home and properly introduce you to your new baby brother.
First | Next | Previous
Jasper is checking in at the hospital, already equipped with a hospital gown. It's good to see that he came prepared.
Caleb, hon, do you maybe want to go sit down somewhere and breathe into a paper bag? You seem a bit frantic, and I don't think that's a good atmosphere while Jas is trying to concentrate on having a baby.
On second thoughts... PANIC!!! THIS DOCTOR CLEARLY HAS NO IDEA WHAT SHE IS DOING!!! OH MY GOD SHE'S STEALING HIS ORGANS!!😱
What is this, RimWorld??
It's a boy! His name is Violetto. I thought about going with Gene or Gin (like aubergine), but it felt a bit on-the-nose, so we're naming him for his favourite colour instead.
Hello, Violetto. You're very cute but Mango is cuter <3 <3

The Yarn Ball Defeats Mango: A Tragedy in Three Parts.
Good try, Mango. You gave it your all, but the yarn was just too strong...
Caleb has invited Lilith over so he can announce his engagement and ask her to become his Sim of Honour at the wedding. She said yes, which was very sweet <3 <3
Awww, baby belly!! I'm excited for our eggplant heir, too, Caleb.
OH MY GOD, NOT THAT EXCITED!! It's happening!! Everybody stay calm!!
