Iâm currently running a group project via Discord known as âGrand Crossover Worldbuildingâ. In this project, we take various series and attempt to combine them together into a cohesive whole.Â
The project is democratically run. The series included are determined via vote. Using the series that have been voted in as building blocks, participants write up pitches which describe the world and how it is set up. These pitches are then put up for a vote, and if they pass they are added to our canon document. I will be posting the contents of that document on the blog gradually.
The project is open to new members at any date via the link below:
Clan McDuck had been a wealthy family centuries prior, but in recent decades theyâd fallen fallow. A mysterious hound had driven them out of their ancestral castle and to the town of Dismal Downs, but they still had to pay taxes on the estate, which over the years sapped their funds. As a young lad, Scrooge McDuck was determined to make back his familyâs fortune, and began work as a Shoeshine boy. His first customer paid him a single dime. It was the first time Scrooge had ever been paid for his work, but his Number One Dime was from the United Federation of Species, meaning it had no value in Scotland. Enraged by the chicanery, Scrooge would vow to strike it rich by being tougher than the toughies, smarter than the smarties, sharper the sharpies. And heâd do it Square.
Scrooge would go on to expose the phantom Hound as a fraud, before setting off to the USF to make his fortune. Scroogeâs quest for riches would take him on many adventures, from the Mississippi river to the wild west. He nearly made his fortune mining Copper, but had to abruptly sell his mine and travel back to Scotland to help stop the sale of the Family Castle. With the proceeds from the sale, Scrooge pays off all the debts on the Castle, and then departs once more to seek his fortune. This time Scrooge heads to the continent south of his homeland, where he meets a young Shoeshine boy. Scrooge gives the boy a dime from his homeland, to try and pass on the same lesson which he once learned, but the boy does not grasp it, and becomes obsessed with revenge on Scrooge.
Scrooge would eventually journey to the Klondike and seek gold there, taking on a loan from a man known as Soapy, though the contract was designed to fleece him. Scrooge would attempt to pay off his fortune, only to be knocked out by Soapy. He awoke tied to the smokestacks of Soapyâs boat, and Soapy began to taunt him by reading letters from his homeland which Scrooge had missed. It as from this that Scrooge discovered that his mother had died. After demolishing Soapyâs boat with his bare hands, Scrooge returned to his mine, and continued to work. Soon Scrooge struck it rich, finally finding his fortune.
Scrooge returned to Dismal Downs, but found himself ill suited to the area after having been changed so much by his travels. As a result, he left, taking his sisters Hortense and Matilda with him, while his father passed away peacefully. Scrooge moved to a young town known as Duckburg in the state of Calisota. There he would build a massive vault to store his wealth, the world famous Money Bin. However Scrooge would not have an easy time settling down, and began traveling the world in earnest, out of both a love of adventure and a love of money. During his time, he would find several means of extending his lifespan, which he would share with his sisters.
However, as time went on, Scrooge would grow more and more greedy, whilst his sisters grew dissatisfied with being relegated to secretarial work in his business. Scrooge agrees to bring them along on his next expedition, but they become disgusted by his exacerbated greed. After he plays a foul trick to get a native chief to sign away his villageâs land, Scroogeâs sisters leave and return to Duckburg. Scrooge attempts to follow, but is constantly waylaid by profitable detours. During this time, he becomes familiar with a SHUSH agent by the name of Bentina Beakly.
All in all. It takes Scrooge 27 years to return to Duckburg, and by the time he does, he has become bitter and miserly. His sisters throw him a welcome party, but leave due to his new rudeness. Scrooge tries to follow them once more, but is stopped when he receives a letter informing him that he is now the richest man in the world. Scrooge has achieved his life long goal, and decides against seeking forgiveness. He remains alone in his money bin for the next few years. He would be roused from his inaction when Donald and Della Duck, the children of his sister, were dropped off at the Money Bin. Hortense had sought to live on her own after leaving Scrooge, and as such when her Husband became injured she needed someone to watch them until he recovered.
Soon after the children arrived, Bentina contacted Scrooge with news of an imminent calamity. A cabal of criminals were seeking out a powerful artifact known as the Papyrus of Binding, and only Scrooge could get it before them. Scrooge took on the mission, reluctantly bringing along Donald and Della. This escapade ended with Scrooge using the Papyrusâ own powers to ensure that it only appeared in the hands of his rightful heir, but more importantly it reignited Scroogeâs love of adventure. He would return to traveling the world once more, with Della and Donald as his companions.
Their adventures continued for several years, until Donald became old enough that he started looking into college. Scrooge, though happy to adventure with his family, was still a skinflint who was not about to pay Donaldâs tuition. As a result, Donald instead enlisted into the Navy, which would pay for his college after his term of service. Donald had a second goal in leaving for the Navy. Della, by this point, had become a mother and laid a clutch of three eggs, and she wanted her children to grow up in a world even more full of adventure than the one sheâd grown up in. She wanted them to be able to explore the stars.
And so, Della Duck designed plans for a spacecraft called the Spear of Serenity, to open up the final frontier. But Donald was against it. Donald feared that the untested craft would malfunction, and leave Dellaâs triplets without a mother to grow up with. Donaldâs hope was that by enlisting, it would make his family wait to build the Spear until after he was able to join them. However, unbeknownst to Donald, Scrooge had the Spear built before Donald had even left, so that once Donald was back they could explore space immediately. What Scrooge didnât know was that one of his companyâs own executives, Bradford Buzzard, was working against him, and wanted his adventures to come to an end. This executive got the opening he needed when the mare on the moon disappeared. The Mare on the Moon was an image of a Pony visible on the moon, and itâs disappearance was linked to the return of an ancient threat to the land of Equestria, Nightmare Moon.
Equestria did not immediately announce the events of Nightmare Moonâs return to the world, so there was a window of time where this markâs disappearance was a complete mystery. And this mystery enraptured Della. So Bradford leaked the existence of the Spear to Della, and she insisted on using it to investigate the moon mystery. But the flight would have a tragic end, as the Spear wound up crashing on the moon. Scrooge would spend more of his money searching for Della than on anything else in his life, but would not be able to find her, and was eventually forced to give up. Meanwhile, Donald was deeply angry at Scrooge for building the Spear in the first place, and the two had a bitter argument. Donald would begin his service soon after, and Dellaâs Eggs would be raised by their father, Howard.
Donald had hoped to get through his service without much issue, as the world was largely at peace when he signed up. Unfortunately, war were declared. the war was a frightening event for him, which traumatized him greatly. Fortunately, whilst attending college after his term of service ended, Donald would meet Jose Carioca and Panchito Pistoles. The three would become fast friends, and form a band known as the Three Caballeros. The Three Caballeros would travel the world seeking gigs, and get into a variety of other adventures along the way. However they would never become especially famous. Donaldâs time with the band would eventually come to an end, when he received notice that Howard had disappeared, requiring him to take custody of the triplets.Â
On the world of Mobius, there is a continent called Chun-Nan, which contained three kingdoms: Shang Tu, Shang Mu, and Shuigang. In these lands there would be born a martial art dedicated to the force of Harmony, Kung Fu. However, its story would have many twists and turns.
Many centuries ago, a Tortoise named Oogway had been on a journey across the world, exploring various lands. He met a Yak named Kai, and the two would become close friends, being recruited together into the crew of a warlord seeking out an object of power known as the Master Emerald. Whilst working with this group, Oogway and Kai began developing a new form of combat, but something was missing from it. The missing element would be found after a battle where Oogway was heavily wounded. The warlord ordered Kai to abandon Oogway to keep up the search , but Kai abandoned him instead in order to take Oogway to a place he could be healed, the hidden village of the Pandas.
The Pandas used their knowledge of chi to heal Oogway, and Oogway began to learn itâs secrets from them. However, Kai grew power hungry, wanting to take the chi of others in order to empower himself. Oogway had no choice but to banish his friend to the spirit realm for the good of all. After Oogway had learned all he could from the Pandas, he departed their village, and began wandering Chun-Nan. He came upon a great valley and knew in his heart that it would be where he would live the rest of his life. To commemorate the occasion, Oogway planted a Peach Tree Seed on the location he first witnessed it. That tree that grew from that seed would become known as the Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom.
Oogway would then seclude himself near a pool in the nearby mountains, which it is said that he wept into after seeing his own reflection and being moved by natureâs beauty, causing it to be named the Pool of Sacred Tears. Oogway began to meditate there, and learned to hear the Eternal Chord, a musical note of pure harmony. From this, Oogway unraveled the secrets of Harmony. Oogway now had everything he needed to finish his art, and he spent the next 10,000 days perfecting it, creating Kung Fu.
When Oogway returned from his seclusion, he discovered that the Valley was being terrorized by a tribe of demons. Oogway fought them off and drove them back from whence they came a portal to the underworld atop the Jade Mountain. One foe remained, their king. The king took advantage of Oogwayâs exhausted state and attacked him. Defenseless, Oogway collapsed in front of the Peach Tree he had planted those many years ago. The Tree was grateful to Oogway for what he had done to protect the Valley, and re-energized him by giving him the Heroâs Chi, a form of Chi given out once a generation to a hero in need. With the Heroâs Chi, Oogway was able to defeat the king.
Oogway then sealed the portal to the underworld so the demons could not return. The citizens of the valley built the Jade Palace on that location in honor of Oogway, who used it as a school to begin teaching the art of Kung Fu to many generations of students, who spread it across Chun-Nan and developed it into a variety of styles. Meanwhile, the Valley in which he lived became known as the Valley of Peace.
During Oogwayâs time as master of the Jade palace he created the Dragon Scroll, which was said to contain the secret to limitless power. Oogway declared that only the Dragon Warrior was worthy to read the scroll. The Dragon Warrior became a figure of legend, and many people aspired to become it. The most notable of these aspirants was Tai Lung. Tai Lung had been taken in as a cub by one of Oogwayâs students, Shifu, and raised at the Jade Palace. As Tai Lung grew, it was clear that he was a prodigy of Kung Fu. Shifu became convinced that Tai Lung was the Dragon Warrior, and so too was Tai Lung.
However, Oogway sensed overwhelming pride and lust for power in Tai Lungâs heart, and denied him the title. Tai Lung turned to Shifu for support, but was confused and outraged when Shifu said nothing. Tai Lung went on a rampage in the Valley of Peace, before returning to the Jade Palace to steal the Dragon Scroll, only to be defeated by Oogway. The Chorh-Gom prison was built to hold Tai Lung, and he spent 20 years there.
The history of the true Dragon Warrior requires first diverting our attention outside the Valley of Peace, to Gongmen City. Gongmen City was ruled by a noble family of Peacocks, whose current heir was named Shen. Shen had an avid interest in fireworks and was enamored with the idea of making weapons out of gunpowder. These pursuits troubled his parents, who sought the advice of a Soothsayer. The Soothsayer decreed that if Shen continued his dark pursuits, he would be defeated by a warrior of Black and White. Shen overheard this prophecy and, assuming that the warrior of black and white was a Panda, led an army of wolves to attack the Panda village, seeking to wipe them all out. Shenâs parents, horrified by his actions, banished him from the city, and turned its leadership over to the Kung Fu Council led by Thundering Rhino.
During Shenâs attack, One of the Pandas hid their child in a box of radishes to protect them from the attack. This crate would be delivered to a Noodle shop in the Valley of Peace run by Mr. Ping. Seeing that no one was taking care of the young panda, The goose adopted him as his son, giving him the name Po. Poâs childhood with Mr. Ping was a very happy one, although Po did not excel at noodle making as much as either of them hoped. On one occasion, Po prepared a meal for Master Shifu which gave him food poisoning. This was ill-timed, as a villainous boar was making his way to challenge Shifu personally.
Anxious about his failure as a Noodlemaker, Po began considering alternate careers, writing down a list of them on a scroll. Due to happenstance, this scroll fell into the hands of Shifuâs student and adopted daughter, Tigress. Tigress mistakenly believed that the Scroll were instructions from Shifu to gather four warriors to form a team to fight off Boar, and so recruited Mantis, Crane, Monkey, and Viper. The five of them saved the valley of Peace, and were dubbed the Furious Five, after a team Shifu had led in a prior generation. Po witnessed the Fiveâs battle, and it sparked in him an intense admiration for Kung Fu.
Po developed a dream of becoming a Kung Fu master, but kept it to himself as his soft body made it seem ridiculous. One day, Oogway received a vision that Tai Lung would soon escape, and knew that it was time to select the Dragon Warrior. Due to a comical mishap involving fireworks, Po fell in front of his finger, and was declared the Dragon Warrior. Initially, Shifu and the Furious Five were hostile to him, but the latter warmed up to him as Po showed his dedication. Meanwhile, Tai Lung did indeed escape, thanks to Shifuâs own attempt to verify his continued imprisonment.
Oogway calmly accepted this news, as he had faith in Po, and chided Shifu to be more nurturing towards his new student. With those words, Oogway bequeathed his staff to Shifu, and passed away. Po initially panicked and tried to leave, but Shifuâs change in attitude allowed him to discover the proper methods of training Po, allowing him to become a skilled combatant. After the Furious Five failed to stop Tai Lung, Po retrieved the Dragon Scroll, only to find a blank, reflective Scroll. Shifu orders Po and the Five to evacuate the valley while he holds off Tai Lung. Po speaks with his father Mr. Ping, and realizes the Dragon Scrollâs wisdom. Armed with this knowledge, he returns to save Shifu. Po and Tai Lungâs battle is legendary, but ultimately the panda is victorious.
Po would face many trials and tribulations as time passed, each one helping him grow as a kung fu master. He would learn of his true heritage and develop inner peace battling Lord Shen. He would meet his biological father Li Shan, and become a teacher in his own right to defeat Oogwayâs old rival Kai. He would travel the globe to retrieve the Taishang Weapons with the help of a knight known as the Wandering Blade. During this time, Poâs mastery of Kung Fu would extend his lifespan exponentially, allowing him to survive to modern times and act as the mentor to other great warriors such as Master Splinter. As for the Valley of Peace, it would eventually bear a new name taken from the legendary warrior who came from it: The Dragon Valley.
For decades the Sawyer Family had run a slaughterhouse near Newt, Texas but with the passage of laws like the Federal Meat Inspection Act and the Pure Food and Drug Act, the Sawyer Slaughterhouse was shuddered, leaving them jobless, unable to afford food. However, their patriarch Thomas was nothing if not resourceful, and he knew how to solve that hunger problem: Cannibalism. Thus, decades of killing began, the Sawyers were careful in always targeting drifters and people passing through the area instead of locals. This allowed their killings to continue for close to a century, led by Thomas himself for a time but as he grew infirm, he became more of a figurehead for the expansive family. Due to his extreme age and the fact that his family were largely assholes, he gained the nickname Leatherface.
Though most of the Sawyer family took to the family business, others did not. There was no more tragic example of this than young Jedidiah Sawyer. At a young age, he was used as bait to lure in victims, something which traumatized him. One such Incident would have great implications on the Sawyer family, when Jed was used to lure in one Betty Hoyt. This enraged her father, police officer Winston Hoyt, and although he could not prove that the Sawyer family was responsible, he could tie Jed to the scene. So the child was taken away to a psychiatric institution specifically in the facility run by Dr. Loomis.
And Jed did well there, Loomis made significant progress with him. Jed was on the road to recovering. But it was not to be. Ten years after Jed arrived at the institute, Michael Myers escaped and in the process let loose numerous others at the facility. Jed, along with a girl named Lizzy who was nearby, were taken hostage by two of the other escapees, which led to an interstate manhunt. Winston Hoyt pursued Jed, his obsession with his daughterâs death still on his mind.
Ultimately, the only ones to win this conflict were the Sawyers. The hunt took them close enough for the Sawyers to capture Hoyt, Lizzy, and Jed. During the pursuit, Jed was also shot in the head, causing him significant brain damage. He retained much of his intelligence, but his identity was almost completely destroyed. Under the direction of his mother Verna, Jed killed both Hoyt and his friend Lizzy with a chainsaw. Soon after he would don a mask sewn together from Hoyt and Lizzy's faces, which would lead to him inheriting the name Leatherface.
A member of the family, Charlton Sawyer, bore a significant resemblance to Winston Hoyt, and took the opportunity to steal his identity, using his police influence to help cover for his familyâs crimes, and lure in more victims. Leatherface would don many more masks over the next few years, using them to augment his lost identity. Most were made of human skin, but one was made of actual cow leather. He used that one to work a job in town, at a slaughterhouse much like his ancestorâs.
Things would not go well for the Sawyerâs forever however. Their downfall began when one of the victims, Sally Hardesty, managed to escape from them, though Sallyâs friends and brother were not as lucky. Though Charlton managed to squash a police report before it could implicate the family, Sallyâs family still believed her. Particularly her uncle, âLeftyâ Enright, who dedicated himself to personally bringing the family to justice.
Lefty would arrive in Newt, though few there believed him at first. But things soon changed. The Slaughterhouse that Leatherface worked at was sponsoring a Chilli competition, which Dreyton Sawyer was a regular competitor in. The Cookout was being covered on a local radio station, and a worker at the slaughterhouse decided to prank call during the coverage. This coincided with his friend stealing the mask Leatherface wore for his work. This worker was called Rick the Prick, for obvious reasons.
Hoyt brought Leatherface his killing mask, and the two enacted a brutal revenge on the two. This killing was broadcast over the Radio, as was the brother quipping afterward that their victims wouldnât even be good enough to go in Dreytonâs chili.
With their familyâs crimes exposed, and the âPrime Meatâ in Dreytonâs chili revealed, a lynch mob rapidly formed. On the way back to the Sawyer home, As Leatherface rushed back to his family home, he was drawn away by Lefty, who engaged him in a duel with two chainsaws of his own. Lefty won, but was killed by Dreyton before he could end Leatherfaceâs life. Hoyt and Dreyton abandoned Leatherface to return home, and wound up dead alongside the rest of their family when the home burned down. Leatherface went into hiding to recover from his injuries.
However, he was not the last remaining Sawyer. When Sally Hardesty was making her escape, she found a baby in the Sawyer home. Thinking it was another victim of them, she took it with her as she left. It was only after the fact that she realized that the child was actually a member of the Sawyer Clan. She entered witness protection to protect the child, who grew up as Heather Miller and never knew her true origins. When she was older, Heather discovered that she had an inheritance waiting for her in Newt, so she and some of her friends decided to head down there to scope it out.
Over the course of the trip, Heather would discover how many of her friends had been taking advantage of her behind her back, whilst also being menaced by Leatherface, who steadily slaughtered them. But things turned even worse once the mayor of the town learned of her heritage. The Sawyer family was so hated that a new lynch mob formed to kill her. With no other options, Heather had to work with Leatherface to survive. The ordeal drove Heather to a point where he no longer cared about the murders.
Thus Heather went on the run with Leatherface, feeling that he was the only one she could rely on. But while Heather no longer cared if People died, she had no interest in being a serial killer. Nor was she interested in abusing Leatherface. He finally had a family member that would treat him the way family should, and he was happy. They were not good people, but they were good for each other.
In late 1981, one of the most sensationalized trials in American History swept the nation as Norman Bates, a seemingly harmless motel proprietor, was discovered to have some truly gruesome habits. The disappearance of one Marion Crane led her boyfriend to investigate the Bates Motel and discover that Norman had murdered several women, including Marion. The Trial of Norman Bates would reveal the deep psychological issues Norman suffered from, most notably an obsession with his mother Norma Bates. Norman could not accept his motherâs death, and insisted that she had been the one who committed the murders. Or, as the most famous headline of the trial proclaimed, âPSYCHO SLASHER SAYS MAMA MADE HIM DO IT!â
In the aftermath of the trial, Bates would be remanded to a psychiatric facility for treatment, as the exposure of his mental issues made it clear such treatment was necessary. The sordid ordeal had a profound impact on the man who had helped capture him, Samuel Loomis. In the aftermath, Loomis dedicated himself to becoming a psychiatrist in his own right, one who specializes in understanding the behavior of those who committed such violent murders. People the public would dub âSlashersâ as taken from that infamous newspaper headline.Â
Dr. Loomisâ new career would eventually bring him into contact with one Michael Myers, a boy of six who had violently stabbed his parents and elder sister to death on Halloween night. Loomis dedicated himself to understanding the boyâs plight and helping him recover to hopefully prevent another Norman Bates coming about. However as the yearâs passed he made little progress since although the boy talked to him and didnât display any violent tendencies, he would never say why heâd done what he did. Dr. Loomis became downright obsessed with understanding why Michael behaved the way he did. His work with Michael put a strain on his personal life, and led him to an affair with Maureen Prescott, leading to a divorce when it was discovered. And due to the divorce, Doctor Loomis would take sole custody of his son Billy. As Billy grew, he himself would develop an obsession with Slashers, in part due to his fatherâs work with Michael. Though Sam tried to be a good father, his work often kept him busy, and Billy frequently heard mutterings of Michaelâs name from under his fatherâs breath, making him feel as if his father cared more about Michael than he did about him.Â
This culminated in one night where, with work looming over him and unable to find a babysitter, Dr. Loomis brought his son with him to the office. Whilst his father was busy, Billy snuck off, and sought out Michael. When the panicked doctor found them, they were⊠just talking, Billy simply telling Michael about movies that heâd seen recently. Then Michael noticed Dr. Loomis out of the corner of his eye and swiftly lunged forward, stabbing Billy with a shiv. Then Michael calmly waited as the panicked Doctor Loomis rushed into the room, calling for help. As Loomis stared into Michaelâs eyes, he simply said âSee? Itâs scarier when thereâs no motive.â
Thus after 8 years spent fruitlessly trying to reach Michael, Dr. Loomis would spend the next 7 trying to keep him locked up as he realized what lived behind the boyâs eyes was pure and simply evilâŠâŠ an endeavor which would ultimately prove equally fruitless as well. Meanwhile for young Billy, this frightening encounter and what happened afterwards did bring him and his father closer together, for a time. But soon enough Dr. Loomis would pull away again, beginning work with a new young patient with a bloody past. Billy, still trying to figure out how to gain his fatherâs attention, turned to popular culture. The Slasher Phenomenon had created a zeitgeist in pop Culture, many of which were based on actual slasher cases.Â
But learning the ins and outs of slashers did little to bring father and son back together as it would only be after Michael Myers escaped and enacted another rampage that Billy had an epiphany. What drew his fatherâs attention back to him as a kid was surviving a Slasher. So Billy would hatch an insidious plan, to stage a Slasher rampage which he would emerge a survivor of, such a plot beginning with the death of Maureen Prescott. But the rest of his story is something best saved for another day as it must be noted that there are far more so called Slashers lurking out there.Â

A member of the family, Charlton Sawyer, bore a significant resemblance to Winston Hoyt, and took the opportunity to steal his identity, using his police influence to help cover for his familyâs crimes, and lure in more victims. But now we must turn our attention elsewhere, to the tale of another disfigured boy and his mother.
Jason Voorhees was the son of Pamela Voorhees, and he was born with a condition known as hydrocephalus, causing a cranial deformity. Due to his condition, Pamela kept his son at home, isolated from other children. She claimed this was because others would abuse him due to his condition, but in reality it was due to her own trauma. Her husband had left her, and taken their first son with him, so she kept Jason close at hand to stop him from doing so as well.
However, eventually she would take a job at a summer camp known as Camp Crystal Lake in order to make ends meet, and she would need to bring Jason with her as she could not afford a sitter. There Jason managed to interact with kids his own age for the first time. Unfortunately, his motherâs warnings bore true, and a group of bullies relentlessly mocked and teased him for his inability to do things they could. There were three camp counselors in charge of his group, who should have broken it up. Two of them were off having sex, and the head one was just an asshole who thought the bullyâs jeers were funny and paid them no mind. Due to this negligence, Jason fell into the lake. He couldnât swim, and his body was never recovered.
The event rendered Pamela Voorhees despondent for months. She would only be roused out of her depression when she was a headline in the news. A man was on trial for the murder of children in Springwood, Ohio. And this man, dubbed the Springwood Slasher, was the chief counselor who had been in charge of watching Jason when he fell in the lake. His name was Fred Krueger, and Pamela Voorhees made her way to Springwood hoping to see him face justice. However, it was not to be as Fred Krueger was exonerated. Numbly, Pamela shuffled into a town hall where the citizens discussed the result. The citizenâs thoughts were clear: Freddy was guilty. Heâd only gotten off because of some technicality, an incorrectly signed warrant. Emotion gripped Pamela, and she shouted to the crowd about how Freddy had killed her child, and how she wanted him dead for it. About how they all wanted him dead for killing their children. Her words rallied them, and a mob formed. Freddy was cornered in a boiler room, and burned to death by mob justice.
In the aftermath, Pamela was approached by someone who claimed to have been impressed by her words. As they talked, the person began talking about how the modern world was corrupted by moral degeneracy, something that Pamela agreed with. Sheâd lost her son because of a pair of teenagers fornicating instead of acting responsibly after all. Then the person revealed something to her: Camp Crystal Lake had reopened. The camp counselors who had let her son fall into that lake were still there.
Pamela was furious. She wanted them dead, and her new friend offered a way to make that happen. They gave her a chemical known as Black Ambrosia which made her stronger, tougher, more violent. And with that newfound power, she returned to Crystal Lake, killing several people out of a thirst for revenge, her rampage only ending when one of her would-be victims, Alice Hardy, decapitated her with her own Machete when Pamela attacked her inside a canoe.
Unfortunately, someone witnessed that death. Her son, Jason Voorhees as heâd been alive the entire time. He hadnât drowned but rather been carried downstream and washed ashore deep in the woods. For months he survived in the wilderness on his own before eventually finding his way back near town, but his mother was gone, and he had developed a deep mistrust of strangers. So he stayed away, taking up residence in an abandoned cabin on the outskirts of the camp. The night of his motherâs rampage, he heard her scream, and rushed over to reunite with her, arriving just in time to see his mother die.
Jason attacked Alice with a fury, and the canoe capsized, dumping her, Jason, and Pamelaâs body into the lake. Jason found himself pinned beneath his motherâs body, and drowned for real. And he struggled for air, he inhaled water that was mixed with his motherâs blood, which contained the Black Ambrosia. Jason died...and then he lived again. He was stronger now, strong enough to escape. He took his motherâs head with him and erected a shrine to her in his cabin.
The camp stayed closed for years after the massacre. It finally reopened in the same year that Michael Myers escaped from Loomisâ asylum, and when it did, Jason heard his motherâs voice in his head, urging him to kill. And so he did, going on a rampage that would last for days, accruing more and more wounds until he was finally killed at the hands of a young boy named Tommy Jarvis.
The question is thus raised: Who was the person who gave Pamela the black Ambrosia which brought her son back after his first death, and would bring him back again years after Jarvis killed him? In truth, the individual was meaningless. They were just one recruiter for a wicked group known as the Black Vale Society.
The Societyâs origins lie thousands of years ago, during the time of Ancient Greece. During that time, a Philosopher known as Akakios. On a journey to Africa, Akakios encountered the Ndipaya people, who utilized a flower known as the Stairway to the Sun in their rituals. Akakios saw that the flower could grant remarkable physical prowess to certain people who consumed it, however others would perish from its consumption. Akakios managed to secret away some of the seeds, aiming to grow them upon his return to Greece.
On his way home, he passed through the land of Egypt, and met with a learned noble who knew of the seeds. This man told Akakios of a method to mitigate the risk of death. He gave Akakios a breed of Pustula and told him that if he infected the plants with it, and then made an extract out of it, the extract would carry no risk of death. Once he was back in Greece, Akakios followed these instructions, and produced the first batch of Black Ambrosia. He would soon discover an unexpected side effect of the process: Those empowered by the Black Ambrosia would soon develop rage that would drive them to murder.
This was, in Akakios mind, nothing to be scorned. Akakios believed that there were two castes to humanity, and the one of them held humanity as a whole back due to their impure love of life. In his mind, those dosed with the Black Ambrosia would be paladins, using their superior strength to murder the impure and cleanse the world. He gathered a group of like minded followers, and they became the Black Vale Society.
The society would persist throughout the centuries, with members joining and dying, but Akakios never perished. Akakios kept his society relatively small, but things changed in the 1980s. Then, he reunited with an unexpected face, the same Egyptian who had given him the Pustula so long ago. This Egyptian told him the truth of the Pustula, that they were cultivated in the realm of a powerful Entity. This Entity now offered Akakios more of the Pustula, to give him the ability to produce more of his paladins, to be part of a grand machination that would allow them great wealth and power.
Akakios rejected this, feeling that it was a perversion of his mission. However, the rest of the Black Lampâs leadership was not so devoted. They accepted the offer, and turned on Akakios. As a result, the leader was rendered amnesiac, and the Black Vale Society began to expand. Akakios rhetoric was a useful tool for recruitment, and the number of paladins exploded. This proliferation, which occurred so soon after the Bates Trial, helped to keep the public eye on Slashers, a fact the Black Vale Society would exploit. They adapted the stories of the killers into films, using the box office to fund their growing influence.
One man used their films to cement his own place in Slasher History. Leslie Mancuso believed in the balance of good and evil, and he believed that Slashers played an important role in that. He saw them as an embodiment of evil, which the purehearted âFinal Girlsâ self-actualized by defeating. Leslie wanted to be that. But he also didnât believe in the supernatural elements seen on film, he didnât believe the Jason Voorhees was a demonic slug from hell or that Michael Myers had been reanimated by some Thorn Cult.Â
This was because of his mentor Eugene, a killer who had evaded capture after committing a series of murders in the Pi Kappa Sigma sorority one Christmas long ago now. Eugene performed his rampages through extensive preparation, and he passed that work ethic down to Leslie. So Leslie set about preparing. He picked his spot, co-opted a local urban legend to base his persona on, worked out when a supply of victims would be in position. To obtain the money he would need to properly trap the area, he approached a film company with a pitch for a documentary following the life of a real Slasher as he prepared for a killing spree. All fake⊠as far as the crew thought, at the very least.
Our tale begins in a time before recorded history. In this ancient time, the Silver Millenium, the Solar System was in a Golden Age. The Earth was reigned over by the Golden Kingdom of Gondor and Arnor, and its peers in Thuria. Beyond Earth, the Moon was also in a Golden Age, ruled over by Queen Serenity and her Silver Crystal which granted its people immortality.
This same pattern repeated across the Solar System, as all inhabited planets were divided between a number of kingdoms ruled by Radiant Queens. While they each differed in their respective philosophies, they were united in their pursuit of justice and their common enemy: a monster of cosmic proportions sealed within the Earth, called Unicron in primordial times, but known to the silver millennium as Chaos, the All-Consuming Darkness. While it slumbers, its idle dreams and immense aura form into monsters and devils which menaced the people of the Worlds. The primary warriors against the darkness were the Sailor Guardians, rare men & women (mostly women) who have inherited the souls of their respective home planets and the ability to channel that soul into immense magical power. Fighting alongside them were the Nobles, warriors empowered by the Queens with a fraction of the Guardiansâ light and fueled by their own senses of hope to act as companions & foot soldiers in the legions of light.
However, in their vigilance, the Nobility ultimately grew to believe they had fully triumphed over the Darkness, and in the process grew slothful, allowing cracks to form in their perfect society. Their lack of diligence would ultimately cost them everything when Princess Serenity, Sailor Guardian of the Moon, came to Earth and fell in love with Prince Endymion of the Golden Kingdom. However, unbeknownst to them, this provoked the intense jealousy of Beryl, a member of the Crystal Gems, a small group of aliens who were old allies of the Golden Kingdom. Beryl was already mentally unwell and isolated for some time due to lingering trauma from the rebellion against their Homeworld ages ago, and had taken an unhealthy solace in her feelings for Endymion, which were now, in her eyes, being betrayed. This left her very susceptible to the influence of Queen Metallia, an avatar of Chaos sealed within the Sun who Beryl had made contact with while dabbling with magic.Â
Metallia twisted Berylâs feelings from mere jealousy into an omnicidal hatred for the world that had denied her feelings, and tasked her with spreading the corruption of the Darkness across the Golden Kingdom. Beryl did this by fostering jealousy towards the people of the moon, a feeling she knew very well, within the peopleâs heart, prompting them to lust after the ancient magic and eternal life the lunar civilization possessed and didnât share with the Earth. This jealousy and mounting dissatisfaction soon gave way to cults of the darkness, long thought felled, emerging into the public sphere and increasingly overrunning polite society, with Beryl as their figurehead. This ultimately culminated in the Golden Kingdomâs final king swearing loyalty to the All-Consuming Darkness in exchange for the power to reach and conquer the Moon.
The Nobles were caught unprepared and slaughtered by the newly-declared Dark Kingdom, the Sailor Guardians met a similar fate, and even the Radiant Queens ended up either killed or sealed away in prisons made from their own dreams, until in the end, only Serenity was left standing. Queen Serenity knew she couldnât defeat the Dark Kingdom, and so instead used the majority of her power to send the souls of the Sailor Guardians into the distant future, where they might be reborn rather than swallowed by the Darkness.
Drained and defenseless, Serenity used the last of her power to call upon the forces of lightâs last resort: Sailor Saturn, the Guardian of Silence, who had laid asleep for untold eons within her home planet, waiting for the day that her power of destruction would be used. Seeing the irreparable state the Solar System was in, Saturn swung her Glaive of Silence at full power, leveling every planet until little of the old, ruined worlds remained, and largely purifying them of the darkness, which now only existed in scattered, sealed away pockets. Her job done, Saturn faded away to be reborn along with the rest of the Guardians into the world sheâd paved the way for.
Thousands of years later, in 2010, Beryl, reincarnated as a normal woman, was working as an archaeologist in Antarctica where she discovered the ruins of the Dark Kingdomâs ancient fortress. There, her memories of her past life were reawakened, along with the Dark Kingdomâs various soldiers. Now resurgent, Berylâs first objective was to find the Silver Crystal, the artifact which powered the incredible magic of the Moonâs royalty. In their search for the crystal, the Dark Kingdom faced off against various heroes of the new world. From the invincible guardian of Metropolis to the arachnid who patrolled New York. However, it would not be long before the Dark Kingdomâs true enemies awakened.
Minako Aino was the first Senshi to awaken. After a seemingly normal day at school, Minako encountered Artemis, a mysterious sentient cat and survivor of the Moon Kingdom who had been in stasis for millennia, who told her that she was chosen and had the ability to transform into someone stronger and more beautiful than anyone else. He then gave her a crescent-shaped compact which, when opened, showed her a vision of the entire world which she was duty-bound to protect, and of her castle on Venus, Magellan Castle, which the Queen of Swords, one of the Radiant Queens, had given to her previous incarnation at birth.
The next day, Minako, believing the events of the previous night to be a dream, decides to try to confess her feelings to her tutor, Higashi. However, she soon discovers that Higashi is actually Narcissus, an agent of the Dark Kingdom who used his supernatural charm to enthrall as many women as possible. But before he could kill Minako for learning this, Artemis intervenes and tells her to transform using the Compact he had given her, turning Minako into the superheroine Sailor V. She then made short work of Narcissus and freed all the women he had enslaved.
Now the first of the Sailor Guardians, Minako began a one-woman campaign against the Dark Kingdom, starting in her home city of Tokyo, and then fighting them in London while she was studying abroad there. Sightings and rumors of her activity spread like wildfire around the world, quickly leading to a passionate fanbase who produced merchandise and even fangames about her within an unusually short time.
This was driven behind the scenes by the Nobility, who had returned to the world decades earlier and had been working to fight other forces of the darkness for decades. Seeing immense promise in not just a Sailor Guardian finally awakening, but one becoming a public hero able to openly inspire the masses, Nobles across the world took to supporting her. In the shadows, they fought alongside Minako in both Japan and the UK, while those with ties to fan communities & corporations in their mundane lives pushed Sailor V into the public eye in any way they could. Much of this effort was coordinated by Luna, another feline survivor from the Moon Kingdom like Artemis who was dedicated to bringing down the Dark Kingdom. Luna took a particular interest in using certain Sailor V-themed games as hidden tests to discover potential Sailor Guardians.
Fortunately for Luna, the next Guardianâs awakening would not be far off.
Usagi Tsukino was an ordinary 14-year-old schoolgirl who, late in 2011, discovered Luna while walking down the road. While this meeting meant little to Usagi at first, Luna almost immediately recognized her as a Guardian, and thus infiltrated her room later that night in order to inform her of her destiny: to become a Guardian and find the Silver Crystal, though both remained ignorant of the fact that Usagi was the reincarnation of the Moon Princess herself.
While Usagi had a hard time believing Luna, the latter soon proved her words by giving Usagi a mystical brooch which transformed her into the next of the Sailor Guardians: Sailor Moon. Usagi didnât have much time to consider what any of this meant, as mere moments later, she heard her friend Naru being attacked, soon discovering it to be an agent of the Dark Kingdom who had taken the place of Naruâs mother. Despite some initial difficulties, Sailor Moon soon defeated both the impostor and the other dark monsters she had brought with her. Not long after the battle, Usagi also encountered a mysterious masked man who went by Tuxedo Kamen, who said that he would take note of her.
Unknown to Usagi, who was immediately smitten with him, this man was Mamoru Chiba, the reincarnation of Usagiâs True Love, Prince Endymion.
Before Usagi could get used to her new calling, the next of the Sailor Guardians was discovered. This was Ami Mizuno, a genius with an IQ of 300 who Usagi encountered upon learning that she had the highest test score in the nation. Her status as a guardian was cemented when she achieved the highest score in the Sailor V game, thus winning a Sailor Guardian transformation pen. Curious as to her intelligence, Usagi and Luna find that she was an attendee of a cram school, Crystal Seminar, which taught its students indirectly through âCrystal Discsâ
While these discs were mundane on the surface, close analysis by Luna soon revealed that the Discs were actually creations of the Dark Kingdom, who were using Crystal Seminar as a front to brainwash people into finding the Legendary Silver Crystal. Worried for Ami, who had likely fallen victim to the Discs, Usagi infiltrates Crystal Seminar and manages to free Ami from her brainwashing, allowing her to transform into Sailor Mercury, Guardian of Water and Knowledge.
The next of the Guardians to awaken was Rei Hino, a cool-headed shrine maiden with psychic abilities. Rei met Usagi after the latter became enamored with her beauty and followed her to her shrine on Sendai Hill, where the two heard rumors of a âDemon Busâ which appears in the middle of the night before vanishing into the mist along with all its passengers.
Later that day, Rei saw a vision of Usagi being attacked and senses that it is connected in some way to the Demon Bus. When she tries to get on the bus to investigate, however, she soon found herself defeated and captured. This then drew in Usagi and Ami, who saw Rei imprisoned on the bus while walking down the street and moved to intervene. As a battle broke out aboard the bus, Luna gave Rei a transformation pen, allowing her to transform into Sailor Mars, Guardian of Flames and Passion, allowing her to incinerate the enemy.
The last of the Inner Guardians to awaken was Makoto Kino, a transfer student to Usagiâs school renowned for her strength and height. Not long after Makoto transferred, she and the Sailor Guardians began hearing rumors of a cursed bridal shop, haunted by the ghost of a dead bride who seduces men and possesses women. Later that day, in the middle of the night, Tuxedo Kamen appeared before Usagi and led her to the cursed bridal shop, where they witnessed the ghost, really an agent of the Dark Kingdom, possessing Usagiâs friend Motoki and attempting to seduce Makoto.
The Guardians subsequently intervene, with Luna giving Makoto a transformation pen and allowing her to become Sailor Jupiter, Guardian of Thunder and Courage. Jupiter then used her newfound power to destroy the spirit personally and free Motoki.
With all the guardians awakened, Sailor V, who had been assisting the rest of the Guardians from behind the scenes alongside Luna, decided that there was no longer any reason for her to hide herself, and officially introduced herself to the team. She also unveiled to them the command center from which she and Luna had been directing them and other related activities around the world.
With the Guardians of the inner planets assembled, the Sailor Guardians swore to defeat the Dark Kingdom once and for all.
Bruce Wayne was born February 19th 1989 to billionaire philanthropists Thomas and Martha Wayne. He had a peaceful and privileged life for nine years until that fateful night. The year was 1998; The movie was The Mask of Zorro. After the movie, they cut through an alley where they were accosted by a man with a gun asking for their money. Despite his parentsâ willingness to give up their money, the man shot them anyway leaving Bruce alive but alone in that alley until a rookie officer named James Gordon came to the scene and comforted him. After their funeral, a young Bruce swore on their graves that he would one day rid the city of the crime that took their lives.
Per his parentsâ will, the Wayne family butler Alfred Pennyworth became Bruceâs legal guardian. He attempted to fill the void left by Bruceâs parentsâ demise and help Bruce move on from their death. He even got Bruce to go to therapy but unfortunately, his therapist was the not yet infamous Hannibal Lecter. Realizing Bruce wasnât going to give up on his vendetta; Alfred determined to make sure Bruce did it right. He personally taught Bruce First Aid and Acting as well as enrolled him in Ted Grantâs Gym to learn Self Defense so he could take care of himself during his training. During this time, Bruce also acted as a member of the organization Kids Next Door as Numbah 27 but he would not remember his time there due to their prohibition on adults being aware of their organization.
Once Bruce was 14, he decided he was ready to begin his training in earnest and left Gotham after completing his GED. He began by training under the great detective Hercule Poirot. There, he formed a quick friendship and rivalry with another student of Poirot known only as L. When he completed his training, Hercule pointed him in the direction of Inspector Koichi Zenigata who taught him Judo as well as supplementing his detective skills. Bruce used Zenigataâs Interpol connections to learn of the most wanted criminals allowing him to find Lupin to teach him skills in pickpocketing and burglary as well as the Toretto Family to teach him evasive driving.
Next, he apprenticed under the magician John Zatara from whom he learned escape artistry and also made fast friends with Zataraâs daughter Zatanna. After, Alfred set him up to meet with Alfredâs old Quartermaster from MI6 who taught him how to make his own gadgetry as well as spycraft. Bruce then audited several classes at colleges under various aliases to learn the academic skills of chemistry, forensics, physics, criminology, biology and ballistics. While at college, he also learned fencing due to his eccentric roommate Gomez Addams.
After getting everything he could from academia, he set out to master martial arts. First, he learned what he could in the states mastering Karate from a Mr. Miyagi, learning grappling techniques at the Hart Family Dungeon, mastering Wing Chun from Leeroy Smith, and receiving training from Solid Snake in close quarters combat. He then went to Asia where he learned Muay Thai from Nuakan followed by Taekwondo from Gang-Il. This brought him under the attention of a man named David Cain who claimed to represent a group that was interested in what he could do and would be willing to help him in his quest for vengeance. Bruce was suspicious but wanted to see what he could learn so he went along with Cain. The group Cain worked for was called The Hand and served an immortal known only as Raâs Al Ghul. They taught Bruce their mastery of stealth techniques as well as solidifying his combat skills but when Bruce learned the depths of their activities, he fled confident he was ready to put all he learned to use.
Upon returning to Gotham City, Bruce first returned to his ancestral home Wayne Manor to inform Alfred he was back. At nightfall, he attempted to put what he learned to use against a group of criminals but while he was able to take any one thug on individually, their numbers and guns eventually overpowered him. He realized strength was not enough; he would need to strike fear into the hearts of seasoned criminals before even throwing the first punch. He remembered an incident of his youth in which he fell into the bat caves under the manor and decided that would be his symbol. He would become Vengeance, He would become The Night, He would become Batman!
Although he would start his crusade alone save for the confidence of Alfred, he would swiftly make an ally in James Gordon; now a Captain in the GCPD. Together with Alfred and a friend of Thomas Wayne named Leslie Thompkins, they would eventually convince Bruce not to merely pursue vengeance and fear but justice and to inspire others to take up his cause from Jimâs own daughter Barbara to Bruceâs adopted ward Dick Grayson. This would become his greatest weapon and they would become more than soldiers in a war against crime; they would be a family.
Long Ago, in a distant land, the Tengu arrived in Japan. Thought by some to be demons, worshiped by others as Gods, they taught the people of Japan many strange arts. Among their teachings were the earliest form of what would become Ninjutsu. Stealth, assassination, they passed down these arts to men, and men refined them. An Oni warlord known as Tarakudo, who specialized in the creation of summoned warriors known as the Shadowkhan, even created a tribe of them in the image of the Ninja. This despite the rivalry that existed between Oni and Tengu.
Tarakudo, with nine generals serving under him, would rule over Japan for some time. A group of mystics attempted to seal him away within a special, but caught wind of this and stole the mask before it could be used, hiding it away. However they countered by creating masks to seal away each of his generals. With most of his power base broken and facing off against many power warriors, he went into hiding. Eventually, Tarakudo would re-emerge to serve under the shape shifting master of Darkness, Aku.
When the scourge of Aku emerged in Japan, the Emperor was approached by Gods from across the world, who foresaw the threat Aku posed. They armed the emperor with a mighty blade known as the Ryuken to defeat Aku. It was forged from the emperorâs righteousness, and with it the Emperor defeated Aku, sealing him away. After defeating Aku, the emperorâs reign was largely peaceful, but not completely without strife.
There was a fearsome samurai who wore armor covered in sharp blades. Though his true name was Gohyakumine Bankotsubo, he was known far and wide as the Shredder. Though a prodigious fighter, The Shredder was frequently disgruntled with the emperor, because of how he relished in slaying foes on the field of battle. But one day, Aku would return, and depose the emperor, conquering Japan. The Shredder became a loyal retainer for Aku, and was able to indulge in his bloodlust. His combination of martial skill and desire for carnage drew him to the dark energy known as the Satsui no Hado, and by embracing it the Shredder became a demon. Specifically, a Tengu, who the Shredder had often admired for their martial skill.
The Emperorâs son Hamato Yoshi, had survived Akuâs takeover, and began a journey across the world learning the arts of combat from numerous masters. During his journey, when passing through China he received the Eye of the Dragon, a jewel empowered with the essence of celestial dragons. By placing the Eye in the hilt of the Ryuken, it became the Shinryuken and giving itâs wielder extreme power. So much power that it upset the balance of nature, meaning the Eye could only be united with the sword sparingly. With the sword and Eye, Hamato Yoshi confronted Aku and ended his reign of terror. That journey was not so simple, but that story is for another time.
Though Aku was gone, his generals remained. The Tengu Shredder had fled upon learning of his masterâs defeat, and found himself in conflict with the Norisu Nine, five master ninjas from the Norisu clan. When the Emperorâs son, now going by the moniker of Jack, arrived to aid in the battle, only one of the Norisu Clan remained. This ninja had managed to steal some of the Tengu Shredderâs feathers, and had woven them into a Ninja Mask that created a Mystical link between them, granting him greater power. The two worked together, and sealed the Tengu Shredder within the Eye.
Jack entrusted the Eye to the Norisu Ninja, and bid him to take the Eye out of Japan, to prevent the Tengu Shredderâs allies from gaining hold of it. The ninja began to wander the Earth with the Eye, which he called the Eye of Eternities as he never got the eyeâs full name from Jack, eventually finding himself in the land that would one day become the United States. There, a powerful Sorcerer attempted to steal the Eye, but the Ninja sealed him away with the help of one of his descendants, who traveled back in time from the Future. The Norisu Ninja chose to stay in that land to guard the area, becoming the first of what would be known as the Norrisville Ninjas. He also began to compile his knowledge into a sentient tome known as the NinjaNomicon.
Jack meanwhile began to seek out Tarakudo, but discovered that Tarakudo had placed himself into a supernatural slumber, banking on Jackâs honor to stop him from killing a sleeping enemy. However, whilst looking for Tarakudo Jack learned that one of his masks had been taken to China by a demon sorcerer known as Shendu. Jack traveled to China and helped the local warriors, the Lin Kuei, to seal away Shendu.
With the threat contained, Jack chose to retire from the life of the Samurai, and asked one of the Lin Kuei warriors heâd fought alongside to return the Ryuken to his family in Japan, before departing to travel the Earth. The Lin Kuei elected to keep the blade, believing itâs power to be too great to give up, however one of their number felt this was dishonorable, and broke with the clan to return it to the emperor. After his honor was satisfied, he stayed in Japan and founded a school of Ninjutsu known as the Shiranui-Ryu.
In the mid 1400s, an alien named Chârell arrived on Earth, Chârell was an Utrom, and the leader of a faction who sought to be conquerors. He crash landed on Earth after being ambushed in space, and was left stranded on the planet. Chârell constructed a robotic body in order to blend in with the locals, however, Chârell was not merely content to live, he wanted to thrive. So he designed his body to resemble a local tengu legend, for intimidation, and took over a ninja clan as a means of amassing power under the moniker of the Shredder. However, there would be a complication. A man known as Raâs Al-Ghul had come to Japan, and started his own clan. He rallied Akuâs remaining followers into a group that was supposedly dedicated to resurrecting Aku. This meant Chârellâs clan was a threat to the legitimacy of Raâs, and a conflict began.
Raâs had been better prepared, better equipped, and better connected than Chârell, and so the conflict as swift and one sided in his favor. Chârell was able to salvage the situation after a failed assassination attempt by Raâs men. Chârell was wounded the assassin in the same moment that heâd cut off the head of Chârellâs fake body. So Chârell pretended to be a subordinate who had taken up the Shredderâs identity in order to give it the appearance of immortality, and arranged for his clan to become a Vassal clan for Raâs organization. Thus Chârell became the leader of the Demonâs Foot clan, which was dedicated to obtaining resources for the more elite Demonâs Hand clan, which was dedicated to the revival of Aku. Chârell maintained this masquerade of false immortality for centuries, biding his time until he could overthrow Raâs. In that time, he expanded the Demonâs Foot Clan into a global spanning empire, with each regional branch led by another man in using the Shredderâs identity.
During this time, the God Raiden took notice of the Demonâs Foot and Demonâs Hand clans, and took action to impede them. He created an organization known as the Chaste, a secret coalition of Ninja clans both old and newly founded. These clans would be clandestinely allied with each other to stymie the Demon clans while being publicly unaligned in order to hide the level of threat that they posed.Â
The first of the clans recruited for this group were the Shiranui-Ryu. The second was the Hayabusa clan, a clan of ninjas who had obtained possession of the Ryuken due to a female descendent of the emperorâs family marrying into the clan.. The Third clan was one founded by Raiden himself: The Arashikage clan. The Hamato clan were not part of this alliance, as they had drifted into obscurity due to dynastic turmoil. Not even the Foot Clan kept track of them, viewing the owners of the Ryuken as the real heirs of Jack.Â
Closer to modern times, within the Demonâs Foot clan, there were two young friends named Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi, who both suffered under high expectations from their teachers.. Saki because his brother Oroku Nagi was in line to become a Shredder and he was expected to follow suit. Yoshi because his parents had unwittingly named him after the slayer of Aku, and he was expected to excel in order to make up for that disrespect. Both chafed under this attention, but had their reasons to stay. For Saki it was out of love for his brother, while for Yoshi it was out of love for a woman named Tang Shen. Tang Shen was the wife of Oroku Nagi, but their marriage was a loveless one, and she soon fell in love with Yoshi. They slept together, and Tang Shen became pregnant.
Upon learning of this, Yoshi fled the clan, fearing the reprisal that would come when the adultery was discovered. However, Oroku Nagi saw him deserting, and attempting to stop him led to a fight. During the battle, Yoshi saw an opportunity to slay Nagi, and took it in order to protect Tang Shenâs honor. When Saki learned of his brotherâs death, he swore revenge and dedicated himself to training. Tang Shen would perish during childbirth and Saki, believing her child to be his brotherâs, would adopt it, naming her Karai.
Yoshi fled to New York City, where he put his martial arts skills to work as an actor for B-grade Martial Arts films, under the name of Liu Jitsu. He made a decent living off of this for about 4 years, trying to put his harsh past behind him and live it up. He even fathered a child from a fling with a fan of his. However his movie star life would not last. The Demonâs Foot clan expanded into New York, with Oroku Saki as its Shredder. Shredder soon found out about Yoshiâs new identity, and tracked him down to avenge his brother. He and a squad of Foot Ninja attacked Yoshi in his home, and savagely beat him. Barely clinging to life, Yoshi was buried in an unmarked grave by Sakiâs men.
A rat had fallen into the grave as they were filling it, and was buried alive in the soil. Unbeknownst to Saki and the Demonâs Foot clan, this grave was in an area contaminated by chemical waste. The unique mixture of chemicals mutated the rat, transforming him into a hybrid of man and rat. Part of this process transferred Hamato Yoshiâs memories over to the rat, and in its confusion it came to believe that it was Hamato Yoshi (He would not realize the truth until years later, when the actual Yoshi was revived as the Rat King). Once he was through processing what had happened to him, he snuck through the city to check on his son, Liu Kang. When he arrived, he discovered the elder god Raiden, standing there with his child. Raiden explained that Oroku Saki had murdered the childâs mother, but was planning to spare the baby and raise it as a member of the Demonâs Foot clan, until Raiden chased him off.
After getting an introduction and explanation of the Chaste from Raiden, Yoshi chose to join the Chaste, and took up the new name Splinter. As for Liu Kang, Splinter asked Raiden to take him to a place that would help him be strong enough to protect himself, but not put him on the frontlines against the Hand. As Such, Raiden took the baby to an order of Shaolin Monks which he was allied with. Splinter, meanwhile, would begin undergoing training from Raidenâs allies, and taking missions for the Chaste which took him across the various realms. During one of his missions, he was tailing a truck owned by a company suspected of having dealings with the New York branch of the Demonâs Foot, and witnessed a canister of strange chemicals fly out of the back of it, and strike a young boy in the head before falling into a Sewer. Splinter entered the sewer to examine the canister, and witnessed four young turtles mutate into humanoid form. The turtles were then collected by men working for the company. Splinter subsequently raided the companyâs laboratory to liberate them, and began to raise them as his own, naming them Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo.
As his time was occupied looking after his new sons, Splinter passed word to another member of the Chaste, known as Stick, to check up on the boy whoâd been struck. The boy was named Matt Murdock. The incident with the chemicals had blinded Matt, but also granted him a special radar sense. Stick approached Matt covertly, claiming to be a sympathetic citizen who wanted to teach the newly blinded child to live with his new disability. However, when Mattâs father Jack Murdock was killed by local criminals a few years later, Stick began training them in the martial arts of his clan, the Arashikage. Though Matt proved talented, he ultimately declined the offer to become a full member of the Arashikage, deciding instead to attend Law School to live up to his fatherâs wishes for him to be educated, instead of living a fighting life.
The Arashikage clan was headed up by two sects. The Tenjinmon lead by the Hard Master and the Hajinmon lead by the Soft Master. The Hardmaster was the overall leader of the clan, while the Soft Master was considered the greatest warrior of the clan. Around this time, the Hard Master was a man named Shiden. Around the time that the Turtles had been mutated, Shiden's second child, a daughter named Kasumi, was born. However son after this event, Shidenâs wife Ayame would be raped by his brother Raidou, which resulted in another daughter, named Ayane. Because of the related trauma, Ayane was given to the Tenjinmon clan, to be raised by the Soft Masterâs brother Genra. The current Soft Master at the time was a man named Zeku, who was convinced that the Arashikage needed to incorporate outside techniques into their Ninjutsu in order to succeed in the present. It was his reforms that had allowed the Blind Master Stick to join the Arashikage.
As part of his reforms, Zeku convinced the Hard Master to have his son, Tomi, join the United States army to receive commando training. While in the army, Tomi met a Japanese-American man and they became friends. After their tour of duty was over, Tomi invited the guy to join the Arashikage. He would become one of the top students of the Arashikage, and eventually be given a code name that he would make famous the world over: Snake Eyes
However, tragedy would befall the Arashikage. The Hardmaster was assassinated, and Snake Eyes framed for the crime. Snake Eyes was forced to flee, and there was a blow back against the others that Zeku had brought in, which resulted in Zeku being forcibly retired as Soft Master, and the position given to his brother Genra. The clan as a whole began to move away from his innovations and stagnated.
While the events that befell the Arashikage were tragic, the Shiranui-Ryu clan faced an even harsher fate years earlier. A sorcerer from the nether realm, Quan Chi, conspired to have the clan slaughtered, while framing the Lin Kuei warrior Bi-Han for the crime. Quan Chi then arranged for Hanzo Shiranui, the leader of the clan, to return to life as an undead warrior bound to his service, using Hanzoâs desire for Revenge as motivation. However, unbeknownst to both Hanzo and Quan-Chi, Hanzoâs daughter Mai Shiranui survived. One of the warriors who took part in the assault, had been unable to kill the infant Mai, and fled the assault with her, taking refuge within the Hayabusa clanâs hidden village, the Glade of Ninjas
What ultimately came to be known as Freddy Fazbearâs Pizza was born from a perfectly innocuous venture by the video game company Hinobi to create something more than just a simple arcade where people of all ages can reliably hang out to partake in their latest offerings. Such an effort was spearheaded by Henry Emily, head of Hinobiâs American division and now the newly formed Fazbear Entertainment in addition though he wouldnât be working alone for long as soon enough one William Afton formed a longstanding partnership with him. His own company Cyberfun Tech specialized in creating sophisticated animatronics for entertainment purposes, something theyâd previously attempted to implement at the smaller scale family establishment Bonâs Burgers before now being showcased to Hinobi. It did well in so enrapturing Henry he never questioned what exactly mightâve occurred at said previous establishment to force an ultimately irrecoverable closure, a disturbingly foreboding series of disappearances which practically prophesied the tragedies thatâd swiftly come to in turn forever haunt Freddy Fazbearâs Pizza as well.
Perhaps another omen shouldâve rightly been the Bite of 83 as itâd become quite infamously known afterwards, a prank gone wrong among Williamâs two sons resulting in the younger one Cassidy getting his frontal lobe bitten off by a very particular animatronic. Now this actually occurred at a sort of prototype location for the future brand named Fredbearâs Family Diner which featured special so called Springlock animatronics capable of doubling as suits people could wearâŠâŠ though these mechanisms had some serious design flaws poor Cassidy Afton became quite intimately familiar with on that fateful birthday of his. Now he did end up surviving albeit in a vegetative state but such an incident coming off the heels of numerous prior Springlock failures would obviously still necessitate those aforementioned suits being retired with Fredbearâs Family Diner being closed just like Bonâs Burgers before it. And the next generation of animatronics utilized by Fazbear Entertainment for their first proper restaurants would consequently have development directly overseen by Henry Emily himself to hopefully ensure nothing like the Bite of 83 ever happened again.Â
Alas not even the creation of a speciality Security Puppet animatronic to particularly guard his own child Charlie ultimately succeeded in keeping those at Freddy Fazbearâs Pizza safe forever with her one day turning up dead right outside the place next to said animatronic like some punishment for Henryâs apparent hubris here as he then secluded himself out of grief. And she would unfortunately just be the first in a series of kids who purportedly lost their lives at Freddyâs though thatâs been subject to a fair amount of debate considering how exactly Charlie Emilyâs fate differed from the rest of those taken in the Missing Children Incident as itâd come to be called. Reportedly the rest of them were last seen being led away by somebody wearing what undoubtedly only couldâve been one of the establishmentâs old Springlock suits with these particular tactics soon causing whoever this figure was to be popularly dubbed the Springtrap Slasher.Â
For the concept of a Slasher had already become quite ingrained in surrounding culture by this point to such an extent people just knew one was responsible for the Missing Children Incident, their chief suspect being a particular employee at Freddyâs whose own coincidentally similar name naturally came to reflect it as Freddy Krueger. Now he was well known among his neighbors on Elm Street to have been a very mean man indeed, especially towards kids as made best apparent in one notorious incident where a bunch of harmless troublemakers were chased down by him brandishing some kind of jury rigged knife glove. Although any intention to do actual harm beyond a mere scare would of course always be denied by Krueger himself, it all nevertheless made many question why he worked at Freddy Fazbearâs Pizza specifically in a position which conveniently gave him unique access to everything the Springtrap Slasher wouldâve neededâŠ.. alongside the placeâs owners obviously.Â
Thus a trial would inevitably wind up fast tracked for Freddy Krueger very much despite all his protestations of being innocent to such a degree proper procedure got left by the wayside as a conviction was so hastily sought, unfortunately resulting in a mistrial for this apparent child killer. One whoâd nevertheless been proved so within the court of public opinion especially upon Pamela Voorhees coming forth to claim he actually played a part in the death of her own son Jason while previously working at Camp Crystal Lake. The final straw for these outraged townsfolk soon came from none other than William Afton turning up in a badly injured state he blamed on Krueger alongside an evident fifth and final kidnapping of his helpless son Cassidy. Freddy himself had already fled by this point just for an angry mob to swiftly start chasing him downâŠâŠâŠ unwittingly doing exactly what Afton had wanted of them to ultimately cover up how HE was the real Springtrap Slasher all along!Â
Truth be told Freddy and William werenât very different from one another in actuality, both severely lacking any genuine care for their fellow man deep down only differing in how effectively they could keep such a fact hidden from the world as outside his own family Afton would be a pillar of the community quite unlike Krueger. However heâd long tended to play favorites with the Aftons two boys in private, almost inevitably leading elder brother Michael to lash out against apparent golden child Cassidy until wellâŠ.. you already know how the story ultimately ends there. Initially William just took his consequent anger out on Michael still behind closed doors to maintain their familyâs aforementioned reputation until one fateful night where Freddy passed a certain call he admittedly couldâve just answered himself onto his already vexed boss. It was to repair the previously mentioned Security Puppet whichâd somehow gotten outside the restaurant into pouring rain, her ceaseless whining over it quickly getting on Williamâs nerves to the point of eventually losing control over himself.Â
And once the gruesome deed had been done with such sickly thrill soon receding, all poor Charlieâs killer could contemplate afterwards was how exactly to cover his tracks there from then on even into sleep that very night where heâd have quite the peculiar dream about himself talking with a Man from Another Place in a Red Room. There William was actually encouraged to continue killing over a bowl of what looked to beâŠâŠâŠ.. creamed corn of all things which he somehow knew mustâve been produced by Charlieâs death, it being proclaimed as the solution to every one of his problems with an accompanying assurance that âyour friend Freddyâll happily lend a hand after everything youâve done to make him who he is.â Obviously Afton was inclined to simply write this off as some fanciful dream at first upon waking, long disbelieving in anything lying outside cold rationality even after admittedly catching wind of truly strange goings on with Bonâs Burgers animatronics in the wake of its own disappearances.Â
And soon similar behavior would be miraculously displayed by that previously mentioned Puppet which drove him to start more properly researching this apparently supernatural phenomenon heâd attribute to a substance dubbed Remnant all for the sake of ultimately fulfilling a fatherâs promise to his only beloved son: âI will put you back together.â Thus the Missing Children Incident began ostensibly so that may be fulfilled as William Afton endeavored to create more like the Puppet through these killings whichâd see the victims bodies be stuffed into other animatronics afterwards though he did admittedly target kids who reminded him of Michael for some moreâŠâŠ personal gratification in addition. Meanwhile his good friend Freddy Krueger would be set up with similar access to the same necessary resources so he may act as the perfect scapegoat absolutely no one would argue against, his aforementioned trial by consequence putting the real Springtrap Slasher on something of a time crunch to actually finish up his work thatâll hopefully restore Cassidy at long last.Â
He therefore became the fifth and final victim of the Missing Children Incident as his own father subjected him to a particularly horrible death via Springlock failure in these hopesâŠâŠ which obviously didnât work out leaving William scrambling to cover this up as well. Thisâd result in him breaking into Freddy Kruegerâs house on Elm Street for the sake of planting his own Springlock suit within the basement as a plainly apparent smoking gun again absolutely no one would argue, the relatively minor failure he experienced trying to get out of it quick as can be actually aiding Williamâs story afterwards. For it allowed him to concoct a certain cover story whichâd send this quickly forming mob after the fleeing Freddy Krueger whoâd ultimately be hunted down to an abandoned power plant on the townâs outskirts where they ended up burning him alive inside the boiler room.Â
The resultant legal clusterfuck from this whole turn of events pretty much ensured a collective agreement to never speak about any of this again as William Afton secretly couldnât be happier about. However bits and pieces nevertheless leaked into local legend from the unhealed communal trauma left behind, particularly once the youth started experiencing these strange recurring nightmares of increasing intensity years afterwards. And Michael Afton would be the first among them to have such dreams, being so endlessly racked with guilt over what his bullying ultimately wrought on poor Cassidy as reflected in dreams of himself taking the younger Aftonâs place.Â
Nightmarish visions of Freddy Fazbearâs animatronics constantly tormented Michael in his sleep just as he once did to Cassidy while awake though once or twice things were recalled which just seemed utterly inexplicable to him. Particularly this one especially harrowing Nightmare of an ashen bear Michael swore he occasionally saw a charred manâs body hidden within alongside glimpses elsewhere of what surely mustâve been the Missing Children reciting a certain nursery rhyme. Of course William was never inclined to heed his eldest sonâs plight before and naturally had no intention of doing so nowâŠâŠ.. at least if what exactly Michael reported hearing didnât seem relevant to Aftonâs further research into bringing back the dead.Â
â~one, two, Freddyâs coming for youâŠâŠâŠ.~â
Across the reaches of creation, there are a near infinite number of worlds both within and beyond the universe which form an infinite tapestry beyond comprehension. This is what is often called the Multiverse, and the worlds among it are many and varied.
The smallest and most simple of these worlds are known as Realms. Realms are realities adjacent to their primary universe, often even overlapping with or corresponding to certain locations within the universe. Realms are smaller than universes, most being the size of a planet, though some can be as large as galaxies. The endless litany of Realms that surround the universe is often called the Megaverse by travelers.
The origins of Realms are many and varied, some are natural byproducts of universal functions, while others were artificially created by the efforts of deities or other such powerful entities. The physical laws of Realms are equally variable, some operate by the standard laws of physics, while others, colloquially known as Hyperspace Realms, are wildly different, often to the point of incomprehensibility.
The stability of the Megaverse is sustained by the Nexus of All Realities, the central trunk of the grand metaphorical tree that is reality and has a near-infinite series of forms & manifestations in different corners of reality. Its many forms include Sigil, the city of doors connected to all realities, the Wandererâs Library, an eldritch & near-infinite storehouse of all knowledge, and the Dark Tower, a massive spire at the heart of the distant realm of Mid-World. Regardless of how it manifests, damaging or even destroying the Nexus would have significant consequences for the entire Megaverse.
Travel to and between Realms is accomplished through a variety of methods. The most common form of travel is through the use of special Trees which grow across the Megaverse, most often in the void between dimensions. These trees possess the ability to open rifts between worlds, but since direct contact with them is dangerous and often comes with disastrous side effects, most dimensional travelers reduce them to a more manageable state, such as storing them within engines or using their bark to make Dimensional Scissors.
Another reliable form of travel is through a series of localized wormholes known as Cross Gates, which form a network that connects various realms to each other. The Gates were originally created untold millennia ago by a malevolent species known as the Einst in an attempt to return to the main Universe through the creation of various wormholes. This project ultimately proved fruitless, as the only worlds he could access were alternate Realms, but it did have the unintended consequence of giving these worlds easy access to each other. The ultimate result of this was the Endless Frontier, a network of 777,777,776 Realms locked in a state of endless war between the thirsting Gods known as Demiurges.
Most elusive of all, though, is the power of Planeswalking, the ability to travel between Realms at will. Planeswalkers are born with the Spark of that power within their very souls, but most awaken it at a later time. Most Planeswalkers are treated with either fear or reverence by those who travel the worlds, but the nature of their power also makes them a target for those who would use it for their own purposes.
As a form of self-defense against potentially destabilizing factors from the beyond, each individual realm has an individual, or individuals, chosen from among the realmâs populace by its cosmic functions to defend it against extradimensional incursions when the need arises.
On some occasions, Realms overlap with each other or the main Universe in some way, allowing for easy physical travel between the two without trouble. Such overlap is exceedingly rare but not unheard of, with the most notable example being the Sol System, from which a great number of worlds can be accessed through a dimensional rift which permeates the Kuiper Belt. On even rarer occasions, such overlap goes even further to the point of the realms outright merging, with the most common way for this to happen being through the Mortal Kombat tournament, a formalized martial arts tournament overseen by the Elder Gods in which realms might settle disputes without disrupting the cosmic balance, with the realm that issued the challenge getting to absorb the opposing realm if they defeat their Champions.
While the reaches of the Megaverse are vast and almost unfathomable, they are but one facet of what is often called the Multiverse, an even larger sea of alternate versions of the Universe and its adjacent realms. There are two observed types of worlds in the Multiverse: Alternate Timelines and Alternate Universes.Â
An Alternate Timeline is formed as a natural consequence of quantum mechanics, as when significant events occur, the various equally valid outcomes of such events branch off into their own worlds, each containing slight differences which reverberate and grow more apparent over time. Multiversal groups often categorize Timelines as being extensions of the Universe they branched off from.
Alternate Universes, on the other hand, are simply different because of their very nature rather than any specific point of divergence. Often speculated to be because of a divergence at the Big Bang itself, Alternate Universes vary wildly in their nature, some possessing a similar makeup to each other, even down to the same planets and histories, while others are wildly divergent even to the point of having different laws of physics, and others straddle the line, possessing disturbing similarities despite wild divergences. This is often called the Law of Dimensional Inertia, in which some Universes (often classified as being âcloserâ to each other) may be unnaturally similar despite there being no logical reason for these similarities to exist. Universes are categorized numerically, starting from 1.
Travel across the Multiverse (called Parachronics by scientists) is significantly harder than travel between realms. Between timelines, travel can be accomplished by traversing the waters of the timestream itself, most commonly performed with the use of Wormholes and devices made to survive the temporal tides, often known as Time Ships.
Traveling to Alternate Universes, meanwhile, is nearly impossible outside the use of Special Trees, which allow for travel across the Multiverse as well as the Megaverse. Study of the trees within the field of Parachronics has similar results to inter-realm travel, allowing for the creation of Parachronic Engines and Quantum Conveyors. Though since much fewer Special Trees link to Alternate Timelines and Universes, these devices are much rarer than their Megaversal Counterparts.
Due to these limitations, few people or organizations possess the means to lay claim to or conquer a significant amount of the Multiverse or timestream, though it is not unheard of. The most prominent case of this is the Time Variance Authority, an atemporal organization which manages the timelines surrounding Universe 1 by erasing every one of them except for the âSacred Timelineâ which they have dictated to be âperfectâ, and thus the only timeline within Universe 1 which deserves to exist.
Separating both realms & universes from each other is a non-space which is known to most as the Void, though some refer to it by other names, such as the Phantom Zone, the Astral Sea, and the Washington Wonderland. The Void lacks even basic principles such as time & space, with the closest things to landmarks in the expanse being Special Trees and the drifting corpses of dead gods. The non-space is sometimes used as a prison by beings of the Multiverse, a fate generally considered worse than death, with the lucky prisoners merely frozen in time, while others are warped or eroded away by extended contact with the Void.
Beyond even the known Multiverse is the realm simply known as The Abyss, a massive tear in the fabric of existence itself made up of worlds, people, & ideas so fundamentally twisted that the Multiverse rejected their existence. The residents of this fragmented orrery, The Prim, crave nothing more than to make themselves part of the true Multiverse, uncaring of the untold horror and destruction they bring along with them.Â
Of the many threats which emerge from the Abyss, among the most consistent and dangerous ones across all realities is Jagganoth the Scarlet King. In almost every universe and timeline, Jagganoth is born into the Megaverse but eventually fled to the Abyss as the first stage in a grand war waged against creation itself. Every version of the Scarlet King is an immense threat to existence, and his eternal campaign to annihilate reality is one of the greatest conflicts existence has ever known.
In the 20th and 21st centuries, the Human race was threatened again and again by enemies both within and without. Alien invaders and kaiju obliterated cities and repeatedly attempted to subjugate the world. Meanwhile, the Earthâs ecosystem was stretched thin by endless pollution, climate change, and war.
While many scientists, philosophers, and heroes had tried their hands at tackling these problems, none were more ambitious and dedicated as Aeolia Schenberg. Schenberg was well studied in the fields of ecology, engineering, and physics, and his defining work was a proposal presented before a number of scientists, heads of state, and the press in which he spelled out a potential solution to the energy crisis.
In this proposal, he outlined the construction of a series of orbital elevators connected by an orbital ring which would be lined with enough solar panels to provide energy for the entire planet. This system would in-turn be defended by a series of humanoid machines, modeled after the Jaegers, known as Mobile Suits, which could also be deployed to battle against monsters and Kaiju. Aeolia also believed that the system would serve as a stepping stone towards Humanityâs expansion into space, which he viewed as essential.
The proposal was met with widespread praise, and he was soon approached by the United Nations for an opportunity to put his plans into action. The first of his proposals to be put into motion was the Mobile Suit line. These Mobile Suits were designated General Unilateral Neuro-link Dispersive Automatic Manuever Weapons, initially abbreviated simply as âG-Weaponsâ, though the nickname âGUNDAMâ came to supersede it over time. They were less than half the size of the Jaegers, only 18 meters tall, and had a different power source, a special form of energy known as Ahab Waves, as well as a special experimental armor, nanolaminate armor, which deflected laser and beam weaponry.
The projectâs development was troubled from the beginning, starting with the fact that Ahab Waves short-circuited any machinery that wasnât heavily guarded, making deployment in Urban Areas difficult. Additionally, the piloting mechanism faced similar difficulties to the Jaegers, in that the pilots often faced an unbelievable amount of mental stress, while the Mobile Suitâs more compact design made a two-pilot system all but impossible. They were able to solve this, however, via the creation of the Alaya-Vijana System, a man-machine interface that could replicate the mechanisms of Drift by injecting the pilot with nanomachines. It was soon found however, that the injections often had a high fatality rate.
Despite these troubles, the project was able to produce 72 machines, each named after a demon of the Ars Goetia, as well as a handful of experimental X Gundams, which used an experimental piloting system that didnât require a mental interface.
All progress was ground to a halt, however, by the calamity known as Second Impact. The environmental troubles caused by the Impact all but destroyed the Orbital towersâ construction sites, and the conspiratorial organization SEELE subsequently pulled the plug on the Gundam Project, declaring it a waste of valuable resources.
While the Gundam project was shuttered by SEELE, the Gundams would find use years later when humanity spread out into the Solar System. During this time, OâNeill Cylinder Space Colonies were launched into Earthâs Lagrange Points and humans began to settle other planets across the Solar System, such as Mars. These outer world colonies soon found themselves chafing under the rule of Earth, which continuously demanded that the vast majority of their mined resources be sent back to the mother planet. These tensions reached a boiling point following Second Impact, which led to both Mars and the Lagrange Point Colonies declaring independence from the nations of Earth.
In this conflict, the Earth immediately resorted to drastic measures in their attempts to suppress the colonies, in the form of hulking, AI-piloted, technological monsters known as Mobile Armors. The Armors utilized beam weaponry powerful enough to devastate cities and rip apart OâNeill Cylinders, as well as autonomous drones which killed indiscriminately, self-replicated, and repaired their mother unit.
While initially quite efficient in putting down the rebels, the AI behind the armors was soon found to have a fatal flaw in its programming, that being that they werenât designed to discriminate between allies, enemies, or civilians. While this was fine, in the eyes of Earthâs militaries anyway, due to the Armors primarily being deployed in rebel territory and without the assistance of regular infantry, this soon proved troublesome when they attempted to recover an Armor. Or worse, when an Armor was activated on Earthâs surface.
This problem grew as, within 3 years of the Warâs beginning, the majority of the Mobile Armors produced on Earth were activated prematurely during test runs and began to wage war against their creators. The result was the death of nearly a third of Earthâs population. In order to put an end to this, an organization of military officials, scientists, and retired former heroes formed an organization to fight the Armors. This organization, Gjallarhorn, decided that the best weapon against the Armors was the Gundams, which could battle them efficiently thanks to the Alaya-Vijnana and their Nanolaminate Armor.
The Gundams were deployed across the Solar System, battling and defeating the Armors on Earth, Mars, the Moon, and even the Asteroid Belt. This conflict would last another 7 years, and would claim millions more lives before it ended, and many Gundams were destroyed or disappeared into the sands of history. But in the end, it did end in humanityâs triumph.
In the aftermath, Gjallarhorn issued the Vingolf Proclamation, which settled a peace between Earth and the rebels. The rebellious colonies were given independence and compensation for the extreme devastation they faced. Many of the weapons developed during the war, such as the Mobile Armors, were banned, with knowledge of how to even construct them being restricted. Gjallarhorn itself was elevated to the status of being the Solar Systemâs peacekeeping force, responsible for preventing another war and enforcing the restrictions declared at Vingolf.
While peace was brought, the war, which came to be known as the Calamity War, left Earth devastated. Cities were devastated by the Mobile Armors, billions laid dead, the climate was in ruins, and the independence of the colonies left the nations with a severe deficit in resources. The conflict would come to be cited by later historians as one of the primary factors behind the collapse of civilization on Earth.

The teenage robot heroine Jenny Wakeman has made many enemies over her crimefighting career with this being only a handful of them
Queen vexus: Jennyâs archenemy, the queen of the cluster, an intergalactic empire composed of sentient machines with an intense disdain for organic life. She first became an enemy of Jenny after a failed attempt to get the teenage robot to join the cluster causing her to instead endeavor to stop her from conquering earth. Vexus is a cunning manipulator and a vicious fighter who will stop at nothing until Jennyâs either submitted to the cluster or destroyed although she has one weak point, her genuine love for her family which may serve as the impetus for her downfallâŠâŠ.
Vincent Anderson: the cybernetically enhanced ceo of Anderson robotics, one of the premier paratech companies in the anomalous world and the former employer of Jennyâs mother Nora wakeman. He tried to exploit this fact during a period of friction in the twos relationship to try and convince Jenny that heâd be a better parent for her unaware that he truly saw her as a product to make money off of. Once the wakemans made up and Andersonâs true nature was revealed he made a last ditch effort to steal her technology, becoming one of Jennyâs greatest enemies as a result.
The king of worms: undoubtedly the most powerful member of Jennyâs rogues gallery, the king of worms is an elder god with control over technology with Jenny only being able to resist thanks to shear force of will. As a result, the king of worms plans are usually more psychological in nature as he tries to break the robotâs spirit to allow him to control her. The only saving grace about the king is that his physical body is currently trapped in another dimension known as the court of worms, forcing him to use âclockwork soldiersâ in his stead.
eelee: creator of the anomalous blog site just girly things which Jenny tries to consult to help her become more feminine only for it to turn out that jgt has a very strict definition of the term feminine. Keelee is a control freak at her core, believing in a very narrow and downright bigoted definition of girly and, as a latent esper, the power to force her beliefs on others. Jenny can resist her powers though as sheâs a machine and the teenage robot is willing to use this advantage to bring Keelee down once and for all.
The exo skin/raggedy android: an advanced skin suit created by Nora to help Jenny blend in better with society so she doesnât get the attention of organizations like the Scp foundation and equipped with a rudimentary ai to ensure jenny doesnât bring any attention to herself. Jenny hates the exo suit as she is fine with who she is no matter how much it tries to convince her otherwise ending in her deciding to tear it to pieces unaware that the ai was not going down that easily. The exo skin managed to stitch itself back together in a patchwork fashion and now with the moniker of raggedy android seeks to become one with Jenny again.
Killgore: once one of many toys created by the anomalous toymaker dr wondertainment, killgore desired more than merely playing the role of villain instead wanting to BE oneâŠâŠ too bad he is completely non threatening. Killgore seeks jenny out as a potential nemesis, seeing the two of them as potential rivals due to both being machines that gained sentience but Jennyâs more annoyed by killgore rather than intimidated. He is not one to be underestimated though, for what he lacks for in menace he makes up for in cunning being capable of making truly diabolical schemesâŠâŠ.. if he could just keep his mouth shut.
Ned ludd: a hermit living in the woods around tremorton with a hatred for all machines including Jenny. He may be a normal human but he has acquired numerous survival skills aided by a emp producing meteor he has access to and has made weapons out of, making him more then a match for the mechanical heroine. His main desire is to simply be left alone in the woods, away from all sorts of machinery but if something even remotely threatens that heâs more than willing to fight back.
Armagedroid: a sort of brother to Jenny as a creation of Noraâs during her time working for Anderson robotics, armagedroid was created to be the ultimate weapon in Anderson robotics arsenal before Nora sabotaged its initial presentation and got it shut down as a result of her own guilt in creating it. Armagedroid would later be reactivated by Vincent Anderson himself to try and defeat the teenage robot at her own game only for him to have more of an interest in destroying the woman that shut him down in the first place: Nora wakeman. Jenny and armagedroid have a bit of a twisted sibling relationship with neither wishing to truly hurt the other but being forced to fight thanks to their conflicting goals
Earth Alliance: One of the most notable powers of the Solar System, The Earth Alliance, officially the Unified Earth Sphere Alliance, is a decentralized federal state made up of a number of member states which governs the Earth and its surrounding bodies. The Alliance is notable for not being entirely based upon the planet from which it takes its name, with more than half of its population residing in the Space Colonies which occupy its neighboring Lagrange Points. It is often noted that, historically, there has always been tension between the planet and the colonies, with war after war having been fought between them. The One-Year War, Bloody Valentine War, Gryps Conflict, Charâs Rebellion, all conflicts defined by the tension between Earth and its Colonies. While tensions have since cooled significantly, the Alliance still faced many internal troubles and revolts. Most notably the Mufti Attacks and the Omnic Uprising.
Today, the Alliance is a largely peaceful nation. Itâs most notable societal feature being itâs renowned Hero system. Based upon the superheroics of old, heroes of Earth are trained to defend the populace from criminals, natural disasters, and, if required, military force. While often derided on other planets as âmercenaries in cosplayâ, the residents of the Earth Sphere consider them national icons, worthy of the title âHeroâ.
The Earthâs military, however, is noted to be in poorer shape. The military is often noted to be little more than a peacekeeping force, unfit for a protracted conflict. The Allianceâs Mobile Suits, which make up the bulk of its forces, are often criticized for being decades out of date. The Alliance Militaryâs most recent project is the F99 Record Breaker, an experimental Gundam-type MS designed with the best technology the modern age has to offer.
Martian Congressional Republic: The other major power in the Sol System, the MCR is a unitary parliamentary republic which governs over the planet Mars. While not as populous as the Alliance, Mars is much more technologically advanced, and has a greater hold over the Outer System colonies. The people of Mars are known for their militaristic attitude, with the navy and army often considered to be the most fierce and powerful in the Solar System. Despite these advances, Martian society is often criticized for its xenophobia and chauvinism towards the rest of humanity, as well as its focus on militarization and war over all else.
The MCR has always had an infamously antagonistic relationship with Earth, stemming from the bitterness of nationalists who blame the Earth Alliance for Mars no longer being the center of civilization in the Solar System. Such rogue elements would eventually go on to found the Settlement Defense Front, a radical political movement turned terrorist organization based around the belief that the people of Mars are superior to the rest of Humanity, and thus had the right to rule over the Solar System. The organization is led by the Vers family, descendants of the man who originally discovered Aldnoah, Solomon Epstein.
While initially a rather minor group, the SDF would gain notoriety across the Solar System during the McGillis Fareed Incident, in which the rogue Gjallarhorn officer McGillis Fareed allied with the SDF to start a system-wide war. While both McGillis and the SDF were crushed in the ensuing conflict, the Incident created a lot of tension and uncertainty among the Martian populace. The Vers Family, who had escaped consequences thanks to their political connections, used this fear to rally popular support among the populace, and become the ruling power within the MCR.
Gjallarhorn: Considered by most to be the Third Superpower of the Sol System, Gjallarhorn is not a nation in the traditional sense. The organization was founded during the Apocalypse to serve as a neutral peacekeeping force. With bases on every planet and a constant influx of recruits from every major nation, Gjallarhorn has retained its position and prestige for centuries.
However, despite technically being a neutral party, Gjallarhorn is often noted to have grown into a power in its own right. Itâs leaders, an alliance of families known as the Seven Stars, used their position to accrue wealth for themselves, and a great many colonies which technically belong to Earth or Mars are often noted to be run by Gjallarhorn officials in all but name. Despite intense frustration, most minor nations and colonies couldnât do anything about it, as Gjallarhorn maintained one of the largest militaries in the Solar System.
This status quo could not last forever, and indeed it was eventually overturned by the McGillis Fareed Incident. McGillis, the head of the Seven Starsâ Fareed Family, launched a revolt against Gjallarhorn, with dreams of overturning the corruption that had overtaken the organization. While fighting was fierce, McGillis soon found himself overwhelmed, and his revolution was crushed under Gjallarhornâs heel.
Even so, while McGillis was defeated, his dream would end up being fulfilled nonetheless. Four of the Seven Stars had been exterminated during the conflict, and the remaining leadership were made very aware that the status quo could not be maintained. And thus, the Seven Stars system was dismantled, replaced by a democratic organization made up of representatives from every nation. Most corrupt officials were purged, and a more equal relationship was formed with the powers of the Solar System.
Despite all this reform, the organization did not disarm its massive military, and many colonies across the outer planets still often find themselves reeling under the heel of Gjallarhorn.
Outer Planets Alliance: While not usually recognized as a Major Power, especially in the Inner Planets, the Outer Planets Alliance plays a major role in the Sol System. The group, if it can even be called that, was founded in order to protest the control that Inner Planet powers such as Mars, Earth, and Gjallarhorn had over the Asteroid Belt and Outer Planets. From these humble beginnings the OPA grew into a cultural phenomenon in the outer planets, demanding full independence for the people of the outer spheres. Despite having a common goal and name, the OPA is not a nation or faction in the traditional sense, being more of a movement or network. Thus, the groupâs activities and methods are defined primarily by itâs internal factions.
The most powerful and feared group within the OPA is the Jupiter Empire. Led by a mysterious man named âCallistoâs Shadowâ, the Empire is officially recognized as merely being a political activist group, but in reality, the Empire is effectively a nation in itâs own right, ruling over most of the Jovian System. The Empireâs operations are largely handled under the aegis of Teiwaz, a front group which operates as a megacorporation with influence in every sector of business and a near monopoly on the trade routes between Jupiter, Mars, and Earth. The Empire is often criticized even within the OPA for its overt fascism and social darwinist philosophy, with even the most abundant resources being heavily rationed as a way of culling âthe weak.â The Empire is also noted for its expansionist goals and antagonistic attitude, with the Empireâs goal being the conquest of the Inner Planets, which the people view as paradise due to resources being freely available. The Empireâs projects have been opposed and stopped, however, by the mysterious paramilitary force known as the Crossbone Vanguard.
The other most notable faction within the Outer Planets Alliance is the Tycho Station branch of the OPA. Based out of the Tycho Construction Station, this OPA, led by the outspoken former Earth Alliance soldier Fred Johnson, is often noted for its more benevolent approach towards belter independence, seeking diplomacy and recognition from the Superpowers rather than conflict and subterfuge. Because of this, Fredâs OPA is the most mainstream and visible of the OPAâs factions, and is often what most people refer to when they mention the organization. However, Fredâs OPA is fraught with conflict with other branches, the Jupiter Empire in particular has denounced them as spineless weaklings, and many of the more violent splinter cells have fallen outside of Fredâs influence, such as the forces of Anderson Dawes. Nevertheless, the organization continues to advocate for the independence of the belt.
During the early days of World War II, a group of individuals with great powers came together to fight against the Nazi menace. This team of heroes was known as the Justice Society. Though the team would grow large over time, the first group of heroes to bear this moniker consisted of the The High, Captain America, Namor the Submariner, Atomic Robo, The Green Lantern, and The Flash. Though there was a hidden, 7th founding member: The Shadow
Adam Brashear grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and from a young age it was clear that he was scientific prodigy. Although Adamâs intelligence was clear, the segregationist policies of the era made it a struggle for him to cultivate his talents. However Adam refused to be daunted by these obstacles, and worked hard to educate himself. Thanks to his work, he managed to obtain enrollment within Cornell University in Ithaca New York. At Ithaca, adam became the chief scientific mind behind an experimental anti-matter engine, though on paper it was run by a white colleague, in order to avoid the ire that would result from having a black man be in a leadership position. During this project, he was caught in an explosion, which activated his Meta-Gene.
The accident turned Brashear into a living anti-matter engine, giving him a vast supply of energy which fueled his powers of Superhuman strength, nigh invulnerability, flight, the manipulation of molecular bonds and energy produced by anti-matter reactions. Brashear saw these abilities as an opportunity to strike back against the corrupt institution of society, and created a costumed identity known as The High to carry out this mission. Knowing that showing his real skin color would cause the public to shun his message before they could even hear it, Brashearâs costume hid his entire body. Brashearâs actions would lead him into conflicts with the powers that be, who wanted to cover up the existence of such superhuman phenomenon. They convinced the public that the stories of him were not but fiction. This lasted until America entered the war, at which point Brashear put aside his personal crusade in order to combat the Nazi menace.
Steven Rogers was the son of Irish Immigrants in New York city. From an early age, he was in chronically poor health, but his heart was as strong morally as it was weak physically. It was common for him to get into fights in order to protect those being abused by others, which in turn resulted in his best friend Bucky Barnes having to bail him out. When the US entered the war, Steve attempted to sign up, but was continuously turned away due to his health. However, during one such attempt he met a Doctor named Abraham Erskine. Erskine was a defector from the Third Reich who was working on something called Project Rebirth, a US attempt to create a Super Soldier. Erskine saw Steveâs true character, and recruited him to the project.
Steve was taken to basic training alongside the other candidates, and it was here that Steve would meet his first love, an agent on loan from Britain named Peggy Carter. Though Steve was obviously less physically capable than the rest of the candidates Erskine preferred him, due to his mind and heart, and managed to convince the higher ups to let him be the first Super Soldier, citing that the difference between his pre- and post-serum bodies would wow the brass enough to guarantee the future success of the project. On the demonstration day, Steve was placed inside a special chamber, where he was injected with the Super Soldier serum and then bombarded with Vita Rays, which transformed his body into one that was the peak of a normal humanâs physical ability. Whether it be Strength, Speed, dexterity, or reflexes, he was as good as a person could be without passing to the realms of superhuman. It was because his abilities were so low scale that the Powers that be were willing to tolerate his existence.
However, Steve would be the only one to receive this treatment. After his transformationa bomb detonated on the site, planted by a Nazi Saboteur, who then attempted to steal the remaining samples of the serum. Steve was able to stop him from escaping, however Erskine was dead and the Vita Ray machine was destroyed. Project Rebirth was, for the moment, scuppered, and instead of an entire armyâs worth, there was only one Super Soldier to show for it. In an attempt to get some value out of the experiment, Steve was put to work in a string of popular USO shows under the name of Captain America, but he always felt he could do more.
In the year 1914, a linguist named Milo Thatch obtained an antique diary which he believed held the location of the Lost City of Atlantis. Though the main stream academia paid no heed to his findings, a man by name of Preston Whitmore did believe in him, and Preston was a very rich man. Thus Milo became part of an expedition under the seas, seeking out the Lost City. After a tumultuous journey during which many explorers perished, Milo and his crew found Atlantis. They found a people who had been alive for thousands of years, thanks to the mystical Orichalcos stones. Due to the duplicitous intentions of the expeditionâs leader, Rourke, the King of Atlantis would perish, and his daughter Kidagakash (Kida for short) would become queen. Milo, having fallen in love with Kida during their time together, would stay in Atlantis with her. They would soon after have a son: Namor.
Namor would grow into an adventurous and impetuous man, who would frequently explore the seas. On his lonesome. On one such occasion, he encountered a band of Gill Men. When Atlantis had fallen, itâs seven greatest cities had been isolated from each other, and forced to find their own means to survive. The Gill-Men were the result of one of these cities. Namor made friends with the Gill Men, and they invited him to their current home, a town in New England known as Innsmouth. However, upon their arrival, they discovered the Innsmouth locals in the midst of being exterminated by the US Army. In a rage, Namor attacked the army, ripping through itâs machines with ease.
Among the myriad inventions of the famed scientist Nikola Tesla was the Tesla Cell, a replica of the human cell made with special polymers. Tesla used these cells to construct a humanoid robot, however upon itâs activation, an unexpected chemical reaction occurred, setting the robot aflame. However, the nature of the Tesla Cells meant that the robot did not perish, but instead persisted under the continuous fires. The flaming robot frightened bystanders, and there were calls to have it entombed in concrete, but Tesla resisted these calls, and instead fashioned his mechanical son a metallic outer shell which would prevent his Tesla Cell body from undergoing an uncontrolled reaction to Oxygen. This shell would allow some oxygen in, so as to act as an energy source, but it was otherwise completely safe. He also gave his son a name: Atomic Robo.
Tesla attempted to publicize Roboâs exploits in order to give him a level of defense against reprisal, and the powers that be allowed him to do so, for a time. However the general perception was that Robo was just a very convincing mechanical doll, not a true person. His connection to Teslaâs flaming android was also generally not acknowledged. Robo ran into severe difficulties when he attempted to obtain United States Citizenship. His quest to obtain legal recognition as a person was only accepted during War times, when he agreed to serve as a special agent for the army in exchange for his personhood being recognized. Roboâs first mission would involve dealing with the situation at Innsmouth, and robo would come into conflict with Namor. During this conflict, Roboâs shall would be breached, and he would be forced to fight Namor as a flaming man. Fortunately, Namor was vulnerable to dehydration, so it wasnât as onesided a confrontation as it seemed, and Namor was pacified when he learned of the crimes the Gill Men committed at Innsmouth.
Eons ago, the beings known as the Guardians of the Universe created an organization dedicated to the protection of the cosmos, the Green Lantern Corp. They gifted those with enough will Power Rings, pieces of incredibly advanced technology that allowed their users to do almost anything they imagined, via creating life like Hardlight contructs. These Rings also allowed their users to fly through the vacuum of space unharmed, and create temporary wormholes in space to move vast distances in an instant. The rings were changed with a special Lantern shaped battery, which was connected to the central power battery on the Guardianâs headquarters, Oa, which was at the center of the known Cosmos.
The Green Lantern Corps protected the cosmos from a great variety of threats. Natural Disasters, ruthless criminals, dictators, all were stopped by the Lanterns. The Guardians were not interested in conquest, they did not issue any demands for the other galactic powers to bend the knee to them, and Lanterns were expected to follow the laws of the other political entities they came across, so long as they did not conflict with the Green Lantern Corps own tenets. The Green Lantern Corps was a powerful force, as the Lanterns possessed the maneuverability of a fighter and the sturdiness of a battle ship. This, coupled with the fact that the GLC predates all extant political entities within the cosmos, means that the GLCâs actions shape the cosmic political landscape.
Many centuries ago, One of the Green Lanterns found there way to Earth, to aid the heroes of the time in a battle against a great threat. This Lantern would fall in battle, his lantern too damaged to function and his ring without the power needed to seek out a new bearer. In the early days of World War 2, a human mage attempted to repower the lantern using a mystical device known as the Starheart, and would partially succeed. It managed to activate, however the magic scrambled itâs technology, shutting down some of itâs functionality, such as itâs space flight and database. When it was reactivated, the Lantern disappeared, the ring rocketing off to find a new wielder.
That new wielder would be a man named Alan Scott. Alan was an architect who was in a secret relationship with a man named Jimmy Henton, a train conductor. Alan would ride the train frequently, as an excuse to spend time near Jimmy, but one day tragedy struck. As the train was going over a bridge Alan had designed, a bomb detonated, destroying it. This bomb had been planted by a rival architect, Albert Dekker, whom he had defeated for the contract to design the bridge. All on the train were killed, save for Alan, who was rescued by the Lantern. Alan subsequently donned the ring and used it to bring Dekker to justice.
Jay Garrick had avidly studied mathematics since his childhood. One night in the 1830s, during a fierce storm, he was working out a mathematical proof when he suddenly found himself out in the rain, for reasons he couldnât recall. The teenaged Jay ran back to his home, and discovered it in flames, having been struck by lighting. Jay found himself orphaned, and took up a job at a local Army fort to make ends meet as he grew. while on one of his routes he was injured, but nursed back to health by the local Blackfoot people. Jay subsequently befriended them, and attempted to negotiate a peace between the US and the Blackfoot. However, his commanding officer had him followed as we returned to their village to retrieve their chief. When Jay returned to the base, a unit was dispatched to slaughter the Blackfoot. The Chief was shot, and as he died, he begged Jay to warn his people.
Jay ran for the tribe, but the army was traveling on horseback, and he was on foot. There was no way for him to get there on time, but still he ran, even as the clouds in the sky darkened and the rain began to pour in a torrent. There was a crack of lightning, and suddenly Jay remembered that night in his childhood, and the mathematic formula he had been working on. 3x2(9yz)4a. He said it aloud and found himself moving like lightning, crossing extreme speeds in an instant. This was what had happened to him year earlier, but now he could comprehend it, and move with purpose. Jay caught up to the attacking army, and thrashed them, before warning the Blackfoot village. It relocated, and Jay stayed with them as a protector.
Over the years, Jay would here stories from the Blackfoot and other tribes telling of a woman who could run at vast speeds. Though initially dismissive of such superstitions, Jay would one day come face to face with that very woman during the middle of yet another storm. Jay ran after her, trying to talk to her, but she did not seem to notice him. Her persisted, and for a single moment, felt the need for speed in his heart. He used that need to fuel his determination, until he forgot about her, and was thinking only of going faster. Lightning flashed, and for a single, transcendent moment, Jay felt one with speed itself. Then he crashed back to reality.
By now, the woman had noticed him. She introduced herself as Makkari of the Eternals, and apologized for not answering his calls earlier, revealing that she was deaf. She told Jay of the Speed Force, a mystical font of incalculable kinetic energy from which both of them derived their superhuman speed. As Speedsters traveled faster, the speed force began to call on them. As one got close to the Speed Forceâs edge, they gained the ability to access even more speed, but if they crossed the thresh hold and entered the Speed Force itself, they would never be able to return. Ordinarily, Jay wouldnât have been able to move fast enough to glimpse the Speed Force, however following her had made it easier than normal to do so. It was then that Makkari revealed the final bombshell. Getting that close to the Speed Force had sent both of them hurling forward in time, by about 20 years.
Jayâs life had been ripped out from under him, and in the aftermath, all he had was the desire to see the Speedforce again. So a pattern emerged. Jay would study extensively, coming up with ways to get himself closer to the Speed Force. He would put these plans into action, and invariably propel himself forward in time again. This cycle continued until he found himself in the Early Days of World War 2. While in Germany studying Victor Frankensteinâs notes on Galvanism, Jay witnessed the cruelty of the Nazi regime, and his inner rage against injustice was reawoken, and he took up the fight once more.
Little is known about the man (ff he ever was) known as the Shadowâs origins. It is theorized that he was a spy during the first World War, and that after the war he traveled to locals around the world like Tibet. Numerous men have been theorized to be his true identity over the years, with some names bandied about including Kent Allard and Lamont Cranston. What is known is that throughout the 30s, he is known to have ruined the machinations of numerous criminals and would-be conquerors. He did so with the aid of a network of Agents, each of whom had their own reasons for working with the Shadow. The Shadow acted as a Mastermind, working behind the scenes to remove evil from the world. It is thus no surprise that the Shadow would be the one whom brought together the Justice Society, though he never let himself be officially tied to the team.
The Shadow caught wind of a Nazi plot to destroy Washington DC. The Reich had managed to insert one of their agents as the operator of a factory manufacturing goods for the army, and used that influence to subvert it completely, using it to manufacture a fighting force of 12 Laufpanzers, walking tanks which could out compete an entire tank divison. And protecting these Laufpanzers from aerial bombardment was a host of Valkyires, magically bound to service to the Reich. Knowing that this threat was beyond himself and his regular Agents, The Shadow covertly contacted The High, Captain America, The Submariner, The Flash, the Green Lantern, and Atomic Robo and organized them together to foil the plot.
In the aftermath, the US Government drafted the 6 public members of the group together to act as a unit that would deal with Axisâ superhuman and supernatural forces. As the Shadow preferred to keep his presence secret from the government, the High was voted as the leader of the unit by itâs members. The higher ups ordered that the unit remain classified, ostensibly to prevent the Germans from having advanced warning of them, but in truth it was to make it easier to suppress their existence if it became necessary after the war. . Jay Garrick, who was distrustful of the military due to their actions earlier in his life time, chafed under this secrecy. As an act of rebellion, he began to write down the adventures of the unit as a script, which Steve Rogers subsequently drew art for, creating a comic. Atomic Robo, whose newly acknowledged personhood made him the operator of a media company founded to foster good publicity for him, arranged for the comic, and future comics, to be published on News Stands back in the states. It was from these comics that the name âThe Justice Societyâ was born. Though initially unhappy with this, the powers that be would soon co-opt their comics as a means of further obfuscating their existence.
Throughout the war, the Justice Society would gradually expand itâs ranks. The first new member to join them would be the world famous Doctor Clark Savage junior. Doc Savage, like Captain America, was a peak human, someone whose mind and body functioned at peak performance in every respect. However, unlike Cap his physical prowess was not the result of a serum, but rather the result of a life time of training. Docâs father had developed a special training regiment to transform an ordinary person into an exemplar of humanity, but the regiment would not work on a man of advanced age, so Doc had been conceived to serve as a test subject to prove his merits. Almost from the moment Doc was born, his father and a team of experts put him through his paces, training him in numerous areas both physical and mental.
Thanks to this training, Doc became a master of both athletics and the sciences, as well as being dedicated to the greater good of humanity. In this endeavor he was aided by the Fabulous Five, men heâd met during World War I: Industrial Chemist Andrew âMonkâ Mayfield, Attorney Theodore âHamâ Brooks, Construction Engineer John âRennyâ Renwick, Electrical Engineer Thomas âLong Tomâ Roberts, and Archaelogist/Geologist Willaim âJohnnyâ Littlejohn. Doc and his aids operated out of the 86th floor of a New York Skyscraper, which would years later be bought and rechristened as âThe Baxter Buildingâ. Docâs primary means of helping the world would be via general crime fighting, but he was also mindful towards what came after the crimes were foiled: Rehabilitation. As such, Doc established a âCrime Collegeâ which apprehended criminals were sent to. There top of the line therapeutic techniques were employed to give the criminals a new lease on life, with advanced anti-psychotic medication used when necessary.
Doc would arm both himself and his allies with several technological gadgets throughout the course of his career. His favorite was an automatic pistol loaded a special non-lethal ammunition known as Mercy bullets. However, his most famous invention was one of a kind, made in collaboration with Atomic Robo, and something not wielded by himself: The Mighty shield of Captain America. Cap had wielded a triangular shield made of American steel, but this shield was destroyed in the first mission of the Justice Society. Capâs new shield would be circular, and made of an alloy of Steel and a special metal from the African continent known as Vibranium. This shield was nigh indestructible, and could be ricochetâd off of walls when thrown.
Namor was a controversial team mate, due to his arrogant nature, though there were some that admired him for his steadfastness. Blue Marvel admired the fact that he refused to hide his skin color, which due to his Atlantean heritage was too dark to be considered white, and Alan Scott admired his openness with his sexualitty. Namor was pansexual, and openly flirted with men and women. Sometimes men and women who are already in relationships. Though this was frequently a problem, in one such occasion it lead to a good outcome, when he got into a fight with a sailor man.
The man who would eventually become known as Popeye was born to a man known to history only as Poopdeck Pappy around the turn of the century. Pappy took one look at his son and declared him the ugliest thing heâd ever seen, and promptly walked out the door, washing his hands of the child. This auspicious beginning to his life would generally some up most of his youth and adolescence, could could accurately called âTerribleâ, âAwfulâ, and âReally Lousyâ. His hideous appearance was the result of an activated X-gene, one which also granted him superhuman toughness and strength.
While Popeye was strong enough that he could mostly do what he pleased, the man had a kind soul. He refused to hurt women, children, and animals, and would only use violence against those who were being cruel towards others. Throughout his life, Popeye received two great things for his kindness. The first occurred when he rescued a lady Albatross from being cooked by a shipâs cook. That albatross was, in fact, a goddess in disguise. That goddess granted Popeye a blessing that would activate whenever he ate his favorite food, spinach. When he ate it, the solar energy within it would from a direct link to Primus. His strength would rocket to a level that matches that of the Hulk. But more importantly than the power of the gods was the second thing his kindness earned him: The affection of the love of his life, Olive Oyl.
Eventually, Steve would learn of his friend Bucky Barnesâ capture, and he would lead the Justice Society to rescue Bucky and several other soliders whoâd been imprisoned and experimented upon by Nazi scientists and mages. This rescue would lead to the biggest influx of new members in the Justice Societyâs history. Most of them, such as Ted Grant and Nariyoshi Miyagi, did not appear to have any powers, though that did not stop Grant from creating his own costumed identity.
On several occasions, the JSA would work alongside Britainâs Hellsing organization, in particular their vampiric lapdog Alucard, however these alliances would come to an end due to addition of a magical practitioner known as Doctor Fate, real name Trevor Bruttenholm. In the year 1920, Bruttenholm had been exploring Mesopotamian tombs alongside his archaeologist father when they discovered the Tomb of Nabu, a powerful magical entity known as a Lord of Order. A hidden trap killed Trevorâs father, and Trevor was subsequently raised by the spirit of Nabu, and taught the ways of magic. When he was grown, he was given the Helmet of Fate, a powerful mystical artifact which allowed Nabuâs spirit to inhabit his body. The knowing that Nazi Germany was exploring the occult, Doctor Fate joined the Justice Society in order to fight them. As a Doctor Fate was an agent of order, he could not stand the presence of Alucard, who was an agent of chaos. Alucardâs bloodthirsty nature had discomfitted most of the JSA, so he was not missed. However when Fate attempted to remove Jay from the team, he was soundly rejected.
In late 1944, the Nazi occultists would attempt to open a portal to hell to trigger a demonic invasion, however the intervention of the Justice society foiled this plot. One demon had been summoned however, an infant who would come to be known as Hellboy. Nabuâs spirit compelled Fate to kill the demon, however Trevor refused to do so out of horror at the act. Nabu thus decided to hijack his body to do the deed himself, but fortunately Popeye saw what was happening and downed a can of spinache subdue Fate and remove his helmet. This would not only be Fateâs last mission as part of the Justice Society, but also Captain America and Buckyâs penultimate mission, as on their next both would seemingly perish.
After the War, The High wanted to continue the Justice Societyâs work, and try to make the world a better place. However, with the war over, the superheroes were no longer of use to the status quo, and so the Numbers of the Beast project was initiated by the powers that be. The project sought to systematically suppress and erase all superheroes from the public consciousness. The first of the Justice society to fall victim to this was Namor. Ever the hot tempered soul, Namor was considered a particular danger, especially so thanks to his connection to Atlantis. A Nuclear bomb was deployed to the Atlantean tunnels, seemingly destroying the city. Namor, who witnessed this, stormed back to the surface in a rage, but was subdued by agents of the powers that be using weaponry designed to dehydrate him. His mind was subsequently wiped and he was imprisoned.
The High assembled a group of Superheroes, both members of the Justice Society and not, to try and resist this project. However, this attempted resistance was squashed due to betrayal. The dire circumstances convinced Trevor Bruttonholm to redone the Helmet of Fate in order to fight. However, as a Lord of Order, Nabu was sympathetic to the enemy cause, and used his magic against them. Harnessing the power of the Starheart, Nabu created a pocket dimension, which imprisoned most of the heroes at the battle site. This prison also rewrote their minds, making them believe that they were not imprisoned at all, but just living normal lives in a city.
The High and Atomic Robo managed to evade imprisonment, and the High did battle with Doctor Fate, ending the conflict by removing the Helmet. However, the battle had been drawn into a populated area, and damaged The Highâs costume enough to reveal his skin color. The people hurled racist abuse at him, he left in disgust. Atomic Robo struck a deal to willingly seclude himself away from the public, in exchange for being allowed to continue working on scientific advancement and protecting the world. As a result, Robo and his company Tesladyne would find a home in a town called Eureka. The High would evade capture , but his Superhero career was effectively on a hiatus for the next few decades.
Trevor Bruttonholm would also remain free, becoming the leader of a Government department dedicated to dealing with mystical threats (at least those it was allowed to know about) called the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. He would use this position to protect the identity of his adopted son, who would grow into an agent of the BPRD. As for the Pocket Dimension, it would be used as a holding site for numerous otherwise uncontainable superpowered individuals, and the city within it would come to be known as Neopolis. Time in this dimension proved slower than in the real world, such that by the modern day, only about 2 decades would have passed.
Aeolia Schenberg was a genius. Almost since his birth, the man had been endlessly curious about the sciences. From Physics to Engineering to Philosophy, Aeolia studied them all in his developing years, and had come to model himself off of the great geniuses of the past such as Reed Richards and Hank Pym. In his adult years, he had come to ultimately grow fixated on the nature of humankind, conducting research into the study of human nature and society. In his research, he ultimately came to the conclusion that Humankind was stagnating. That endless warring, environmental destruction, and refusal to fix the flawed systems that governed the world would ultimately drive the human race to their Doom.
Where most people would have fallen into depression upon coming to such a conclusion, Aeolia sought instead to save humankind himself. To this end, he proposed the Global Reorganization Plan, a detailed proposal submitted to the scientific community and several world leaders. The plan involved the construction of a series of Space Elevators on the equator, connected to each other by an orbital ring, which would harvest Solar Energy and wirelessly distribute that energy around the world. Such a system would also be defended by a series of specialized mecha known as Mobile Suits. Aeolia believed that, by solving the energy crisis and giving humankind something to collectively protect in the form of the Tower network, war would come to an end, and Humanity could progress forward into the future. He also believed that the Orbital Elevators could serve to jumpstart the colonization of space, which Aeolia viewed as essential.
The Plan was praised and accepted by many global superpowers, who soon went about making the plan a reality. Despite many minor hiccups, the Plan progressed steadily for half a decade, with Mobile Suits being constructed, the construction sites for the Orbital Towers being firmly set up, and wars gradually coming to a close across the world as the beginnings of a solar power network were created. All this work was undone, however, by Second Impact. The apocalyptic event destroyed the foundations of the Solar energy networks and the Orbital Towers, and in the aftermath, the ancient conspiracy known as SEELE moved to have the Global Reorganization Plan shut down and Aeolia ousted.
Left with nothing, Aeolia became a hermit, isolated by society and scorned by SEELE-controlled media. Despite this, the man refused to give up his objectives, using his remaining funds and connections to invest in the colonization of space, eventually moving off-world himself along with his closest collaborators. It was in this exile that Aeolia contemplated the nature of human conflict, coming to believe that humans fight each other because they do not truly understand one another, becoming too caught up in their own beliefs and prejudices to truly learn about the ones they are fighting. He also felt that such a human race was not prepared for interstellar travel, as that would only lead to the spread of more war across the galaxy, as observed in so many interstellar races that humans had encountered.
It was because of this line of thinking that Aeolia and his colleagues began studying psychics and telepaths, believing that their ability to feel the emotions of others, to achieve true understanding, was what humanity needed most. The problem was that psychics were a rare breed, and there seemed to be no consistent way to mass-produce psychic awakenings. This all changed when Aeolia, while experimenting with Hadrons, discovered a unique type of Baryon particle that he dubbed the Gundam Nucleus (GN) Particle. These GN Particles functioned much like the Ahab Waves which powered the Gundam prototypes, being able to disrupt and disable radio waves and heavy electronic machinery. Their most important trait, however, was their ability to transmit and expand human consciousness. This meant that whenever enough GN particles were gathered in an area, everyone within that area became able to sense each other's thoughts and feelings. It was even believed that enough exposure to GN Particles could lead to a person âevolvingâ into a new type of human with telepathic abilities.
Aeolia truly believed that he had found it, the next step in human progression and the true solution to conflict. However, even this came with problems, as the reactors required to produce GN Particles needed to be custom-made and required years to produce, meaning that mass-production was likely impossible. Not only that, but Aeolia knew that the world could not be reformed by mere words and would likely reject the change offered by GN Particles, something which he had learned from the failure of the Global Reformation Plan.
Aeolia knew that the world could not be created in his lifetime, especially as he saw Earth falling into chaos before him. And so, he created a plan that would last beyond his lifetime. He used his connections to secretly gather the top minds in the scientific community, in order to form an organization which could carry out his vision even after he was gone. This organization would be the guardian angels that watched over the world in secret: Celestial Being.
The first meeting of the organization was the formulation of their plan. This plan, dubbed the Aeolia Plan, would come in 3 phases. The first was the eradication of conflict via âarmed interventionsâ, wherein Celestial Beings GN-powered Mobile Suits, a new generation of Gundams, would step in to wipe out conflict wherever it appeared through armed force. The second phase was for the world to unite against Celestial Being, which would become every nationâs common enemy via their armed interventions, and seemingly destroy the organization. The next phase would be for Celestial Being to guide the newly-united humanity from the shadows and introduce GN technology to make way for the next stage in human evolution.
The newly formed group would work in secret to research GN Particles, recruit new members, and await the planâs beginning. Aeolia went into cryosleep, wishing to live to see the world he envisioned. But before then, he created a sentient supercomputer, VEDA, which managed the organization in his absence, subtly altering the details of the plan to suit the state of the world, and selecting new members to induct. The organization stayed this way for centuries, even after civilization on Earth collapsed and humanity scattered across the Solar System, Celestial Being simply laid in waiting for their time to strikeâŠ
The Black Nebula is an area of space where living matter is often found at large scales, often planetary. It is considered as a bioverse, a biological mini-universe. Some of the living matter spawned from this place include entire planets, including the living Green Lantern Mogo, the moon Umbriel (SCP-4829), which found its way into our Solar System and into Uranusâs orbit, and the nascent Celestial Egros, who would eventually become known as Ego the Living Planet.
Ego sought out other life forms, life like him, but was disappointed when he found that the various lifeforms in the universe were unlike him, and he was seemingly alone. He sought to terraform its various planets into extensions of himself, believing he really was the only one, hoping to perfect the universe in his own image by expanding all throughout it. He would soon encounter a challenge.
Orbiting the blue giant Rigel are at least three planets, the third being Rigellon, a blue planet slightly smaller than Earth. Despite its star being blue, it was old enough to have developed life on its surface despite its blue giant star Rigel, as it was kept young through means of starlifting, the technology to do so having been created by an ancient civilization
Its inhabitants, the Rigellians, constructed an artificial ringworld around their home planet when its population reached around ten billion. They also constructed a large orbital platform from which they can view the cosmos called Skywatcherâs Eye, the eponymous eye being the most advanced telescope in the cosmos. There, the Rigellian Grand Commissioner resides, watching over the great Rigellian Star Empire.
At Skywatcherâs Eye resides the Commission of Colonization, dedicated to mapping the cosmos in search of planets to colonize. They are assisted by von Neumann probes called Rigellian Recorders, which head to various planets throughout the galaxy and assess if they are worthy of colonization, in addition to relaying any data they may collect on their voyages through space. Colonizers aggressively colonize the planets that they are assigned to, and higher-ranked ones get to select the planet they can colonize.
One such high-ranked colonizer, Tana Nile, found the planet Xandar, capital of the Galactic Alliance, a suitable place to colonize. The Galactic Alliance was a large interstellar hegemony stationed on the planet Xandar, its members including the Xandarians, the Krylorians, and the Askavariâi. Nile attempted to colonize the planet for her empire, but was prevented by the Nova Corps, The elite ranks of itâs peacekeeping forces. At the same time, Ego had knocked on the Rigelliansâ doorstep and threatened to assimilate them. The Nova Corps told them that he would let Ego do such if Tana did not stop her conquest. Desperate, she agreed, and he thwarted Egoâs expansion, keeping Rigellon safe. Grateful for the Nova Corps, saving them, the Rigellians eventually put a halt to their expansion and formed an alliance and friendship with the Xandarians, eventually joining the Alliance as one of the various civilizations under it and its main explorers, mapping out the cosmos and searching for new places to explore. Many thousands of years ago on the planet Earth, there were stories. People wanted to know how the world worked, but did not understand. And so they told stories to explain it, stories of magic, monsters, and most of all, Gods. And it was through the telling of these stories that the Gods came to be. Earth had been saturated with metaphysical objects known as âAuthoritiesâ, which were akin to admin privileges for pieces of reality. The âAuthoritiesâ became a core, and their bodies were made from human imagination.
These gods were sustained by worship from the same humanity that created them, and they would grant boons to the humans of Earth in exchange for said worship. It was a prosporus time, but it would soon come to an end thanks to a threat from beyond the Earth. Deep in space, one of the civilization destroying entities known as the Reapers had encountered something that caused it to deviate from itâs normal path. This Reaper, known as Velber, wandered through the universe on a set path, a route which took 14,000 years to traverse, and dispatched machines that wiped out any civilizations it encountered, regardless of how advanced they were. When it passed by Earth, it wiped out 80 percent of life on Earth, and slew the majority of the Gods.
The key players in driving off this menace were Agamotto and Mamaragan. Agamotto was the mortal son of a goddess named Oshtur, who had helped codify many of Earthâs magical systems. Agamotto commissioned several Fae clans to forge a sword of his design, Excalibur, in order to slay Velberâs forces. Agamotto knew he himself could not wield the sword to itâs full effectiveness, and that is where Mamaragan enters the picture. Mamaragan was an Aboriginal god who was well respected amongst the the gods. Earlier in the conflict, Mamaraganâs apprentice Oggar had hatched the idea of creating Letters of Power, symbols imbued with the lent power of gods and legendary figures. The Letters of Power could in turn be made into Words of Power, giving great strength to their Wielders. Oggar had intended these letters of power to be used by himself and Mamaragan to defeat Velberâs machines, but Mamaragan foresaw that their godly nature would leave them vulnerable to the enemyâs weapons. So he instead gifted the Word of power to a mortal. That mortal then used Excalibur to defeat the machine menace.
The gods had been killed, but the stories that spawned them hadnât gone anywhere. And thus they were reborn anew, but it was not just the gods themselves that were reborn, it was the world around them as well. At this point in time, much of the surface of the Earth was metaphysical in nature, dictated by belief and by those with the power to shape it. And so when the Gods were reborn, so was a majority of the world around them. This was why this time became known as the Second World, and why that name scheme would persist to later iterations of the Gods.
The stories of the Gods had changed over time, so the second iteration of the Gods were different from their originals. That was not the only change, however. Velberâs destruction has stuck in the minds of man, and inspired stories of Apocalyptic destruction. The Death of the Gods would not be a one time event, it would occur over and over. Once enough gods died, the change to the next world would trigger, and all would be reset. The Gods who had been forgotten by Humanity would disappear, and Gods whoâd been incorporated into other pantheons would become permanent fixtures. Gods who were not dead when the Worlds changed would be wiped away, though some (Such as Mamaragan, now going by the name Shazam) found ways to persist beyond the change. Additionally, the Demigods begotten by these gods survived, anchored to existence by their half mortal nature.
Most Gods believed that while every other pantheon was the creation humanity, their pantheon were legitimate. They believed that the creation stories of their pantheons were the genuine truth. It is entirely possible that one of these pantheons is right, but it is entirely impossible to know for sure which one is right. The stories which inspired the gods did have to come from somewhere, after all. While in some cases the inspirations are known, such as how the Ancients inspired the stories of the Asgardians, others are unknown. This means that it is possible for the stories to be inspired by legitimate Gods. There are Gods from other regions of space that are outside Earthâs system, and could have appeared on Ancient Earth. As an aside, the era wherein the stories the gods are made of were written is informally known as the 0th World.
The Second World would pass by naturally, and the Third World would begin, however the end of this world would have drastic impact on the next World. The problem began when one of Zeusâs spawn, Kratos of Sparta, slew Ares and took his mantle as God of War. This would set into motion a series of events that would lead to the destruction of the Greek Pantheon. In the absence of this Pantheon, Alien infiltrators known as the Seosten would masquerade as the Greek Gods as part of their plans to take control of the planet. The Seosten wanted to control Earth because humans had a unique ability, the power to bond their DNA with the DNA of alien lifeforms to gain their abilities. They had the potential to be highly versatile Super Soldiers, but there was an issue. Their ability to bond only worked on physical creatures, known as Alters. Metaphysical creatures, known as Others, did not have the DNA necessary for the process. Gods fell under the category of Other, and would be an obstacle for Seostenic control of Earth.
The Seostenâs ultimate plan was to hide away the Supernatural world from humanity, and advance their knowledge of science to the point that the supernatural was deemed as impossible. This would mean that the Gods would cease to exist after the third world, due to their metaphysical bodies no longer being compatible with their âAuthoritiesâ. This plan, to institute what would eventually be known as the Bystander Effect, would require a great deal of power, even for a space empire. They obtained the lionâs share of their power by orchestrating a war between the gods themselves and siphoning energy given off by the conflict.
However, the conflict would escalate beyond the Seostenâs expectations. The people of Egypt had Long be wary of body snatchers like the Seosten, due to their prior experiences with the Goaâuld, and this experience allowed them to uncover the Seostenâs presence, bringing them into the war directly. The revelation could have spurred the gods to ally with each other in order to crush the Seosten, but before such an alliance could be cemented, one of them took an action that scuttled it. Shem-Ha Mephorash had long toyed with the idea of using humanity as a weapon of conquest, and the exposure of the Seosten convinced her to enact her plans. She began to take control of Humanity via a method that involved the Universal Language of the human race. This was seen as an existential threat by the other gods, and tensions ratcheted up between them even though the god Enki had managed to scuttle it using the Curse of Balal.
Being out in the open made it harder for the Seosten to keep the war in line, and so the war began to escalate to higher stakes. Another major driver of this was the Monkey King of Korea, a reckless but powerful fighter. Eventually the intensity of the conflict began to stir the Chaos Bringer who resided beneath the surface of the planet Earth. And this drew the attention of two other groups of Gods from beyond the stars.
The first group were the Elder Gods. These were the first six gods whom had been created before Unicron and Primus were split apart, and whom had subsequently fought against Unicron. The second group were the Kais. The Kais were an offshoot of the Mathusians, the same race which would spawn the Green Lantern Corps. The Kais were descended from a group of Malthusians who had apprenticed themselves under the Elder Gods in order to seek penance for Kronaâs Sin. The Elder Gods thus gifted them with an âAuthorityâ covering the concept of Creation, and the responsibility of maintaining the afterlife and various other realms connected to our cosmos. To balance out these Kais, an office known as the Hakaishin was created, who bore the âAuthorityâ over destruction.
The intervention of these gods from the stars put an end to the war between the Gods, and forced them to come to the peace table to hash out an accord that would be implemented at the Dawn of the next World. The biggest result of this intervention was the splintering of the Earth into several realms. This was primarily done to split off the lands of the gods from the physical plane which humans resided. This was a very complex process, and due to the nature of Earthâs make up, Earth could not be split into just the Earth and the domain of the Gods. Several different realms, such as Outworld, had to be made as well in order to make everything work. Additionally, the war had severely damaged the flow of the afterlife on and around Earth, creating the need to create the Soul Society in order to regulate the damage.
Ironically, the Seosten were treated relatively leniently in this matter, as they did not posses the conceptual power to cause the damages that had drawn the ire of the cosmic gods. Thus they managed to get the Bystander Effect which theyâd been aiming for the whole time, helped by the placement of a special Artifact which reinforced the planetâs belief in Science. However, the Gods did manage to get some concessions. It was agreed that the Gods would be given physical bodies in the next world, which were less reliant on the worship of humanity to survive, though it still empowered them. A Taboo was also put in place, which acted as a conceptual defense which prevented humans from being able to directly harm the Gods. The Gods won these concessions by striking a deal with the sorcerer supreme of the time, Suleimon Bin Daoud, to empower his proposed âSeal of Solomonâ.
The Gods were also given a new duty, to prevent Unicron from awakening. As part of this duty, every 1000 years a Godâs council would be organized, which would assess the state of mortal affairs on Earth and the adjacent realms. If a risk of awakening Unicron was detected, the Gods would hold a vote on how to handle it, with the most extreme solution available being the extinction of mortal life. Though if that provision were voted through, Mortals would have the right to challenge the Gods to a series of 13 one on one matches, to avert their destruction.
When the worldâs changed over, there was a new pantheon joining the others. This was a common occurrence, but this case was set apart by one key fact: This pantheon stretched beyond the Earth. This pantheon had been born from the stories of the war between the Gods themselves, and was not simply made from the minds of humanity, but of the various alien species who had fought in the war as well. It was a story of a war between two godly races whose conflict split their world asunder. It was the tale of New Genesis, and Apokalips. After they came into existence, the Gods of New Genesis and Apokalips became major players throughout the cosmos. Apokalipsâ leader Darkseid sought to restrain all things into his own image, using subterfuge and guile to lead people into giving into their worst nature.
However, they were not the only Gods who transcended the bonds of Earth. During the period of the war after the Seostenâs involvement had been revealed, Odin had allied with other alien races in order to even the playing field. Foreseeing that the conflict would eventually attract the attention of forces outside of the Earth, Odin had his allies spread the tales of the Norse to other planets. As a result, when the change to the Fourth world went into effect, the Norse pantheon became a technologically advanced race with connections that spanned the galaxy. The 3rd World incarnation of Odin attempted a scheme that would allow his consciousness to persist into the body of his 4th world counterpart, but this plot was scuppered. The 3rd World Odin was able to continue existing, and took up the name Mr. Wednesday.
The Gods of Uruk also hatched their own scheme to influence the next World. They cam up with a scheme to create the ultimate neutral party to rule over humanity and keep the Gods from losing their dominion over them. This neutral party was the hero known as Gilgamesh, who was one third human and two thirds God. However, Gilgamesh developed outside of their plans, and their attempt to rerail him back into the role they planned for him using Enkidu failed, and Gilgamesh ultimately wound up cementing the end of the Age of Gods.
Time passed. Eventually the nation of America came to prominence on the world stage, and many of the lingering old gods relocated there, seeking opportunities to gain wider influence there. From this location, Mr. Wednesday would hatch a plot to obtain even greater power. His plan involved orchestrating a new War between gods, except this time the war would be between the New Gods, and the Old Gods, gods who had found ways to persist after the change over from one World to the next. In order to kick off this plot, Mr. Wednesday would need a villain to rally the other Old Gods to action. Wednesday, by this point was well aware of how Gods were created, and so he decided to nudge along the creation of one, with the aid of a certain Investor.
By this point in time, the industrial revolution was in full swing in the Americas, and Mr. Wednesday guided humanityâs belief in faith and industrialism to become incarnated as a God known as The Factory. The Factory, which embodied all of the toxic and destructive aspects of Capitalism, would consume anything and everything as raw material for itâs products, including other Gods. However, Mr. Wednesdayâs desired war between the Gods would be put on hold, as The Factory soon came to the attention of an organization known as the SCP Foundation, who worked swiftly to contain it's products, which were the only way it could interact with the world. They had been tipped off as to itâs existence by the Fourth World Odin, who had maintained a close watch over Mr. Wednesday in order to head off any schemes. The War between the Gods would thus not begin until the Modern Day, when changes in the SCP Foundations Leadership would draw their focus more towards Superheroes, and after Odin had fallen and his son Thor took up leadership of Asgard. When that happened, Mr. Wednesday would set off this war by covertly pointing the Church of the Broken God in the Factoryâs direction.
