Oh, you should definitely hang out around the lake, you're bound to find one eventually. Not that everyone has endless time to sit at the lake but lol you know what I mean.

It's probably up there though. I mean I guess I would rather a mouse than say a rat but... Equally disturbing. It's okay one just has to outsmart the mice in the end. Keep the snacks safe.

If I could do anything? I wish I could have the best of both worlds. I'm kind of doing what I want to do, but I know I'm letting people down in choosing this as well. So.. if I could do anything, I just wish I would be able to... idk be two places at once? Or.. make the people close to me happy while still being happy too? I know that's maybe not exactly what you meant but.. I want to be able to make the people I care about proud while still being able to follow my dream, you know? I just wish they saw it that way too.

Yeah I might stop in! I just feel like I'd be tempted lol. Especially if they're really... really cute. They're cute until they're running across your face in the middle of the night! <3 then they are less cute and more of a terror. Or worse. When they've munched on a snack you've been thinking about all day.

Oh yeah it's definitely a lot. People don't put that much thought into them which is a shame. They get treated like accessories or decorations when they're complex little guys.

I get that, I feel the same. I don't think you'd let them down though. That's the thing about friends, right? Even if something happens, friends understand there's more to the story and that sometimes things happen. Nothing you can do about it but pick yourself up and move on and learn for the next time. Good friends always help you do that.

Even if you accidently trip them on the way down too lol.

Have you ever been to the pet shop here? I've never actually gone but I see some cute animals for adoption every once in a while that make me want to go and just hang out with them. Oh no, you're one of those? Trying to move the little (albeit cute, sure) creatures eating all of the bread into the household?

I'm just really busy too it wouldn't be fair to get a dog. I mean maybe could swing a cat because they seem pretty chill by themselves most of the day, but it still seems unfair to any animals. Maybe a fish but lolol They're a lot more work than people think to care for properly.

Yeah I think it's an underrated feeling tbh. Are friends really important to you then? I'm told I have a lot of friends, I guess I just like to get along with everyone but I have a much smaller very close knit group of friends. They mean the world to me, and I don't have my family around here, so they basically are my family. idk if they know that but I definitely consider them my ride or dies.

I have! The pet shop is very very cute. The animals up for adoption are always so precious. You should definitely spend some time there if you can. I mean... they're all sooo cute the little mice and everything. Their little whiskers and everything.

My friends are the most important to me. I'm also really far from my family, so... they're also all I have. I want to do everything I can for them. Cause they're always looking out for me. I don't want to let them down ever.

I tend to make things for my own perspective at time. Which I know could be problematic. I also did not come here to find some great match for the holiday. I honestly have my match and I love them. It’s impossible to really explain how much.

It’s not really a “what I’ve got myself into” either. This is a born into it. You must comply. This is who you are type of situation. I could go rouge though…and get away from it.

Which all sounds like a good idea but the idea of danger is not appealing. Trust also isn’t the right word. I know we said burden is subjective. I don’t trust others in my life - if I go and off load all of these issues to someone like my girl then I put her at risk of the literal demons in my life.

I can’t let myself be responsible for putting anyone I care for in danger because my life is fucked up.

I'm going to be honest...I re-read this email ten times over and was utterly confused. I recognize that I don't fully know what I want with some of these emails. I don't know how well suited I am for romance in general... but don't you think what you're using these for is a bit... disingenuous?

I sympathize with your troubles tremendously, but it is a bit upsetting to know that maybe a match up I could have had that might have had some chance... was replaced by someone who doesn't want or need it at all because they already have a person.

I don't want to be rude. I really have enjoyed corresponding with you. But to know I've become a sort of "therapist" instead of potentially having had a shot with someone else is a little... I don't know. I understood when you said maybe we weren't compatible in some way. That would have been fine with me.

I feel stupid too because I figured I'd stick to talking with the nice connections I've made, but this is... I wonder who else might have matched with me or who would have wanted another match too.

I just... I think it would be better if we stopped writing for now. I hear there's a very great therapist in town actually. He seems very nice! If you ever wanted a professional to discuss your concerns.

I do love animals so much. And I like that mental picture of me working with animals. That would be a dream too. I unfortunately don't have any pets, but I'd love to one day. It's too busy and hectic now for one. Though I've considered adopting the mice or other little creatures we might discover in the house.

What is it about your lifestyle that would make it incompatible?

That would be the biggest win! I totally get it. I feel like it's the biggest win when I can boost some of my friends too. I have one in particular that acts very much like that.

Well I do enjoy communicating face to face. Got me over here feeling like I sounded crazy. I don’t want to live in a world of anonymity. I am just using it as my crutch.

You say it’s been a good choice but end it with a question mark. Is that because you don’t know?

Only seeing Shrek one time may be criminal. You’ve really got to sort out your priorities and add that to the top of you list. Watch Shrek again. Maybe even 2 more times.

It sounds to me like you’re worried about your expression whichever the kind will be the burden. Do you mean like saying anything at all will bother them? Or you don’t want to bother them? I think people who really care for you would want to to tell them everything and not close yourself off.

I think my issue is I put people in danger when I open my mouth. Like i know that probably sounds crazy but it’s true. There are consequences for everything I do. It’s partially just because of everything I have been forced to do my whole life but now…I feel like I’m stuck between just opening up and risking that or just disappearing altogether and taking my issues with me.

I probably don’t sound ok but I’m okay! A 7 is pretty good honestly. It’s been worse. My friends are also not the problem.

My friends would probably be shocked at all the shit I’ve been out through. Or what happens behind closed doors but my family on the other hand. Well that’s a mixed bag. Some are the problem and some are just hiding to not get caught up in the drama.

I don't think anything at all will bother them. But they have dealt with a lot and I've already messed up a bit unintentionally. I don't know. They might want to know, but they really have so so so much to worry about. I want to be the least stressful to them. But I guess one can't fully control that.

In danger? I don't know, maybe you need to find someone who can handle more. That maybe you don't have to worry about them? But I don't know what you've gotten yourself into. But I bet the people who care about you would probably take the consequences if they could help you.

You don't sound fully okay, but I know how it can be to try to make things sound better.

Oh yeah? I do think confident people in their element is really almost an artform, so I agree it's definitely fun to watch. Can I ask what you do or is that like too revealing lolol. I get that too - I definitely think cruelty, arrogance, ignorance and just being plain mean is a huge turn off for even just remotely liking a person. Huge red flag to be mean to animals though yeah.

No that's not silly, I think smiles can be really attractive. Especially when you get to know someone and see maybe there's a smile they only show for you, it's very touching.

I don't know...maybe I regularly yearn. I'm still sorta figuring some things out. But it felt true to how I've felt sometimes so here we are.

What I do would be.... incredibly revealing yeah. Sorry =/ But I will tell you all about it when I can. But yes... you're right. Any of the things you listed are definitely major turn offs. But yeah, to me it's one thing to be mean to a person who can defend themselves to some degree and who understands. But it's another to be awful to an innocent animal. That makes me want to fight someone the most.

Yeah... yeah that's so true. I have a friend who I think tends to keep to themselves a lot and is hard to read. But when they smile even for a minute it's like the sun emerging from the clouds or something. You're right, it can feel a lot more incredible when it's something you don't often see or yes, if it's just for you.

And thanks lol. i try to be genuine but sometimes its hard when there's like, outside pressures to be a certain way or something you know? It's kind of nice to hear you say that (or read you write that lol?) bc I can def be what a lot of people would call a big personality. And i've got some introverted friends who i feel like i make uncomfortable or am just too much for them, but hearing that sometimes its nice so that the attention stays off the introverts makes it feel less like i'm being super annoying and obnoxious and more like i'm just taking the heat lol

I... definitely do a lot of that too. I like to make people happy and to see them smile and like...idk nobody wants a sad clown at their birthday party right? they want the silly fun one to boost their mood. I don't mind not putting my problems on others, i prefer to keep them to myself bc i don't wanna bother people but... its nice to be able to get a lot of it off my chest.

So far I've found this pretty nice for sharing things i've never shared irl. Even if its not like deep hard truths or secrets or anything but just like talking to people in this kinda more genuine way. It does make sense. I think I've been... testing out filling out the form in a way that I think is right for me but it's hard to say just writing and not knowing people. But I guess it's the added benefit of being anonymous. So that even if it does seem to work there's no....pressure either.

You seem pretty genuine in these letters so far. I know that's different than seeing someone in person, but I think you seem really sweet. I have a few friends who have bigger personalities, but that to me also doesn't make them a lot, it just makes them who they are. And I personally am grateful for those energies, because I'm often... I don't know. I won't say I'm an introvert, but I do sometimes find it easier to let those strong personalities shine. It also helps me to shine along with them I think.

There are a lot of things about myself I haven't felt like I could share in person or with a lot of people either. I'm the kind of person who tries to make things easier for the people around them, and if that means maybe not saying this or that thing then that's okay. Of course, I think my emotions might be too noticeable on my face anyway, but I try.

Something that I would want people to know about me is that I am tougher than I might appear to look. And that they can trust me with important things. I want them to know I can be counted on.

I guess there is a nice security in anonymity. You can put yourself out there without any of the usual social risks or discomfort. That is nice, though I do prefer to talk to people face to face. I did want to try something new with this though... and I think it's been a good choice?

I don't think it's cheesy and lame. I want to be someone who can be a support to other people. And to make you feel safe through our emails is great! I'm grateful you trust me in a sense.

To be quite honest I think I've only really seen Shrek the one time, but I've still seen the memes all over the place so I feel like I've seen it a million times anyway.

I'm not sure that calling people out for hypocrisy or something is being open necessarily, but I do see you have a strong personality. But I understand keeping things to yourself. I do that a lot too. Or I try. I don't want to be a burden to the people I work with. But I think I might be too expressive to really avoid it being seen anyway.

A constant 7 sounds pretty intense. Are YOU okay?? No my friends are not the problem. We're all doing the best we can I think. There are just a lot of tough things in life aren't there? But if you want to pursue what you want or achieve something you have to endure some things.

Also... don't you think your friends and family would be against you sacrificing yourself in favor of keeping them all happy/good?

Jk they're just hard hitting to me because I guess I've never thought about it too much. I think I tend to notice a person's confidence first? People that are passionate about something and really advocate for themselves? I think I really like that in a person and so they're probably more likely to stand out to me? Though I guess also just genuinely kind people too. People being kind, even silently, is one of the most noticeable things to me.

I get that honestly. I love most animals so much it's hard to pick a favorite. It's very on theme and adorable! I think I made mine a little more broody than I actually am, but at this point it feels a bit late to change it.

A person's confidence is definitely something that stands out. I spend a lot of time with some really confident people through my job, and it's pretty amazing to watch them. Kindness stands out to me. Especially if you're kind to animals. I think it tells you a lot about a person by how they treat their pets or animals in general.

I haven't really dated much so I don't know too much but.... I guess when someone has a really nice smile too? Is that silly?

Grand, I just don't even know where to start with books. I never go down to the book store and buy anything new. Half the ones I've got collecting dust on the shelf are old family books anyways. I've got a friend who read a book about a dragon maybe that would be a good choice.

Eh - life is hard Grand. Hate to break it to ya and soil your life with my problems but I am in the damn trenches over here. School, family, deaths, town politics, and hell some of my relationships are drowning. You ever feel like you are standing still and shit is just happening around you? Welcome to my life. I throw up that wall and just endure. Hence the lonley introvert I guess. Sports are dope! Theres this UK football team who plays just a ways north. I have been dying to go catch a game. Just never do. Really a live sport event is like a concert but the people have talent and you know they have to compete! Maybe I am just spoiled with the US lifestyle going to baseball games. You should check something out sometime!

Photography is cool! Maybe you could turn your phone off or something and just ditch out into Enchantra and take some pictures!

Well my work if family focused. Helping different branches of my insanely huge family. Locally though I am not really employed but spend time at the University sometimes. To be honest... I don't know if I should be looking for a date either. I mean it'd be nice and something I'd like to be able to experience but um... well it's hard to explain. But I'm a very good friend and no matter what you feel about romance, I'll gladly be your friend Jupiter.

Grand, Yeah I am not much of a dragon guy but if people say its good and I trust those people don't you think I should read it? I don't know. Much cooler creatures than dragons in my opinion just not many books about them.

I have people like that in my life. I am just the problem. They have a lot going on and what I have going on is way worse. Plus if I start peeling back the layer of my onion I am only going to cause more problems for them. Its really deep. We don't have to get into all that right now. I guess I am just trying to say I have people I am just a shithead.

Its refreshing to hear that you're also not here for the romantic part. I won't feel like I am wasting your time. Friends are nice and its comforting that we don't really know who each other is.

I would obviously close myself off if I did. Yes we can say it together. I am the problem.

So you said you have a lot going on? How bad is it? Scale of 1-10.

I think you should read it if it sounds interesting. I wouldn't read it just because people tell me to read it. I might be mildly curious about it though so if you do end up liking the book let me know. What do you think are cooler than dragons?

Ah an onion layer metaphor... I take it you might be a bit of a Shrek fan? But it's okay. I kind of get it. Even if you do have people, it's not easy to open up. It's hard to be vulnerable for most people I think.

I mean romance is nice, and in an ideal world it would be very exciting if it could be found through something like these emails... but even if there was a spark, I'm not actually sure what I can do with that. So no, it's not a waste of time to me at all if I can make a friend here.

I mean I don't know if I'd say it was bad... it can be really tough sometimes... I'd say just in terms of being busy at about an 8 or a 9? Maybe a 10? Lol there's a lot going on. That's another reason why I say it's probably smarter to just make some new good friends.
