Rose shook her head, pulling herself to her feet. “Grant, don’t,” she replied. “What’s the point of killing them if we don’t even know if there are more of them?” She folded her arms over her chest. “Be smart about this, Grant. Seriously.” Rose was all for getting revenge on these assholes, but she wasn’t going to give up the upper hand she had in her brainpower over these losers with big muscles.

“Fine. No killing. There will be serious maiming.” He promised. Grant was never one to be smart about anything. When he was angry, his brain just turned off as he was focused on eliminating whatever did him wrong. It was just the way HIVE wanted him when they brought him back from the dead.

“THAT’S A FAIR POINT” Pietro shrugs his shoulders, but there’s a grin on his face. “Yeah trust me I’m aware. My entire life has been shit for the most part, so. I’m not dwelling on it.”

“Sorry to hear that...” Grant muttered. He didn’t know him at all--- but he knew that not everyone deserved bad shit. Hell, at times Grant felt he didn’t deserve what came at him.

Rose sat up and leaned against the nearby wall, feeling somewhat dizzy. She rubbed her jaw with one hand, still feeling the ghost of the pain that had been radiating through her skull until Grant had managed to shove her jaw back into place. She nodded. “Okay,” she said, pausing for a moment. “You have to figure out how they did it. I don’t know how they’re like this.”

“I’m not giving them a fucking chance to explain how they did it.” He said angrily, shoving the drives in the pockets of his coat. “They’re dead. Dead men walking.” Grant hadn’t felt this sort of rage in a long time-- but it was one he only felt whenever someone messed with either of his siblings. “Take care of Joe for me, yeah? This one might take a while.”

“Well, if they were stealing for me I’d feel inclined to show ‘em some special treatment.” He said with a smug smirk. “Yeah, yeah. World is shit--- not like that’s a new revelation or anything.” Grant mused.

Floyd snorted. “If you show me your full moon, I’ll send a round right through your asscheeks.” He raised an eyebrow. “Really? Because that was…pretty average,” he replied. Floyd wasn’t even just trying to be an ass—he could do a lot better than that. The only person who had ever given him a run for his money was Slade Wilson, and in Floyd’s eyes, even Slade wasn’t on the same level. “Well, I don’t care about other hitmen,” he replied.

“Not like I haven’t tried it myself.” Grant said, a little too honestly. “Consider average my kink.” He teased. “Awe. No? We get together and have a huge orgy every second Tuesday of each month. Kinda hot. We tip each other off and all that shit. Occasionally the bosses come to watch.” Hardly anything out of Grant’s mouth was ever truthful, especially all of that. He just liked to make people uncomfortable.

Rose sat up slowly, feeling somewhat nauseous as her bones knitted themselves back together. “I don’t know. It happened really fucking fast,” she replied, shaking her head. “Like—too fast. I don’t even know how this could happen, I didn’t think there was anyone out there like that. She raised a hand to her pounding head. “He didn’t even have to try to break my jaw. Like—it took nothing.”

Grant looked up at the surrounding buildings, spotting several cameras before standing. “I’ll be right back.” He mumbled, quickly walking into a building and breaking open the door to get in to the security room. A few minutes later, he came back and dropped a thumb drive next to Rose, then left for the next building and did exactly the same. “After I get you home, I’ll look at them alright? They’re dead by morning.”

Rose made a noise in the back of her throat of surprise and pain as Grant pulled her limbs back together, finally reaching a hand up to snap her arm back into place. She shook her head. “Uh—tall. One of them had a scar on his left temple.” She raised a hand and pressed her trembling fingers over her eyes, still lying on the pavement. “The main guy was 6 feet maybe? There was a redhead who was 5′10 or 5′11, uh…” She shook her head slightly. “I can’t remember.”

“Please remember, Rosie. For me?” Grant asked again, already intending to make a call to HIVE for them to start a search. Every once in a while they did Grant some favors, and he’d been a good boy lately so he was due for another. Especially after they failed to find the Goblin when Gwen had died. “All guys or were there some girls?” He asked, watching her carefully to make sure she’d be alright.

Rose opened her eyes to look at him, her eyes slightly widened. She made a small noise in the back of her throat and raised a shaking hand to gesture at her jaw, hoping he would get the hint and deal with the dislocation and shove it back into place. She was still confused about what had happened—had it really happened? This felt like some sort of fever dream. She had never run into anyone who had the means and inclination to hurt her like this.

Grant grumbled a long string of curse words as he pushed her jaw back into place, moving to quickly fix her leg as best he could. He’d had to do it to himself plenty times after Brother Blood finished beating the shit out of him for not carrying out a job. “Rosie-- what did they look like? Give me a description and I’ll get all of them tonight.” He spoke in a low, serious tone. He and Rose didn’t get along well, but she was family. God forbid anyone touch a hair on Rose or Joey’s heads because there would be hell to pay.

Rose healed up at a rate that was much higher than any normal person, but that didn’t stop her from feeling pain and it certainly didn’t stop her from being thoroughly shaken up whenever someone managed to get the drop on her. She didn’t know how these people were so strong, but all she knew was that they had broken more of her bones than she had ever broken before. Her arm was still out of place, needing to be snapped back before it would heal back up, her jaw looking like it was split in half. She couldn’t bring herself to shove it back. She was lying on the sidewalk, blood staining her clothes and the pavement even though any cuts or scrapes had long since healed up. Her leg was bent at an awkward angle and she knew that she would have to have someone pull her knee back into the right position before it could properly knit itself back together. She closed her eyes and groaned softly. Pain pulsated in her mind.

Grant was used to Rose ignoring him-- but just not for that long. And especially not after she expressed to him how worried and nervous she was about some guys who had it out for her. He got his ass out of bed, got dressed, and went out on the look for her with gun in his hand. When he saw the misshapen mess of limbs on the ground, he felt his blood boil as he walked closer. “What in the hell--” Grant trailed off angrily before kneeling down next to her. “Who the fuck did this?” He asked, glancing around the street.
