Actually really enjoying the parallel between Fennel and Fionna and Finn and Fern.

Fern was always so jealous because Finn was everything he wasn't (brave, heroic, etc.)

Meanwhile, Fionna is jealous of Fennel for almost the opposite reasons. She wishes she had the stable relationship and life that Fennel has. (Almost the opposite of what Fern and Finn)

Both Fionna and Fern are driven to anger because Fennel and Finn have the life or relationship that they think they deserve. They struggle with feelings of replacement and are upset by how similar their counterparts are to them.

Most of all, Finn and Fennel are happy with their lives. Meanwhilw their counterparts feel as though they can't do anything right and that their lives are falling apart.

Its just really interesting to me that when put in this alternate world Finn and Fern basically trade places.
