CHRISTIANS IN MY PHONE. GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY.
I’m watching LWW which is perfect, no notes, butttt here’s the thing, I think that Narnians shouldn’t have British accents, at least not London ones. Like it’s been 1000 years at least since Narnia’s founding by the time Lucy gets there, their accents could have drifted drastically, especially with Frank and Helen having broad country accents, talking animals that don’t have human mouths, fauns and gods from who knows where (Greek mythology though), and the other random non British people that have come through.
The reason I’m right is because Lucy said spare room and wardrobe and no one could figure out what the heck she was talking about. Like sure, most beings in Narnia don’t really have clothes, but you’re telling me no one has a spare room? Like maybe, but they have castles and dams and caves with rooms, and even in a culture without spare rooms and wardrobes, the words spare and room and highly understandable.
I think the poor Narnias spent the first couple of years figuring out what the heck the Pevensies were saying until they got used to it and the siblings started talking more like Narnians. On the flip side, I think they talked really weird back in England, beyond the formalness and referencing magic and animals too freely.

2024 Inklings Christmas Challenge: Official Announcement
The Event
The Inklings Christmas Challenge invites writers to create a science fiction or fantasy story within the Christian worldview set at Christmastime. The story can involve the Christmas we know or a Christmas-like celebration within another world, but must evoke the season in some way.
The Guidelines
Since the holiday season is a busy time of year, this challenge is meant to be low-stress and very casual. The only guidelines are as follows:
Writers can create a story in any science fiction or fantasy genre of their choice. You may use the Inklings Challenge genres as inspiration, or choose a completely different subgenre. Stories can be standalone, or can be set in the world of other works by the author.
There is no maximum or minimum word count, but to avoid putting pressure on writers in an already busy holiday season, writers are encouraged to try for very short stories.
No sign-up is required. Writers who finish a story for the Christmas Challenge should simply tag @inklings-challenge within the body of the post and tag it as #inklingschallenge, and it will be reblogged to the main Inklings Challenge blog.
Completed stories can be posted on a tumblr blog any time before the deadline of January 6th, 2025. If you don’t finish by the deadline, you are welcome to share whatever you’ve completed by January 6th. You can also post the completed story after the deadline has passed. However, because of the seasonal nature of the challenge, any stories posted after February 2nd, 2025 will not be shared on the main challenge blog.
The Theme
Each year's Christmas Challenge comes with a completely optional theme. This year's theme is the very broad concept of Tradition.
Christmas is a time filled with lots of traditions, and our stories can reflect that. You can incorporate current Christmas traditions in your stories, highlight the Christmas traditions of a future or alternate world, build a story in the tradition of other Christmas stories. You can even create a story meant to be a new Christmas tradition (if you're sick of all Christmas fantasy stories being retellings of A Christmas Carol). Interpret the prompt however you like (or ignore it, because it's an optional prompt).
Any questions, comments, or concerns can be directed to the @inklings-challenge blog, and I will do my best to address them.
That’s the Inklings Christmas Challenge! Now go forth and create!

Little white wildflowers blossom in the churchyard every spring.
I’ve seen them almost every year, for almost twenty years.
It’s been a long twenty years.
Heartbreak. Betrayal. Death. And yet the flowers keep on blooming.
Depression. Anxiety. Fury. And yet every spring, they rise.
Wars and rumors of wars. Wildfires and floods. Earthquakes and plagues. I’m broken, the world is shattered, and some days I fear healing won’t come in my lifetime.
And yet the flowers still bloom.
The world has beauty even though it’s shattered. Even as broken as I am, I’m still blessed to bear witness to that beauty. The future’s so uncertain, no one can know what tomorrow will bring, but there is one thing I know: little white wildflowers will blossom in the churchyard every spring.
Thank God, thank God, thank God.

I had SO MANY dreams involving “The Chosen” last night. I think the weirdest one was the one where I was trying to explain birthday cards to the followers of Jesus, and then I mentioned “And people make them for other occasions too, like Christmas,” and someone said “What’s Christmas?”, and as I was starting to panic Jesus piped up “I can explain that one. Not yet, though.”
