Do not use the website called Sci-Hub!

It lets people access scientific articles for free. This is dangerous. It helps the free flow of knowledge and reduces the competitive edge of all the people who worked really hard to have been born into a wealth.

Like, it’s literally a website where you can type in the DOI of an article and read it, without ever having to pay the publisher who exploited the author.

So, again, do not, under any circumstance, use Sci-Hub. I mean, can you imagine a world where knowledge is free and easily accessible to everyone? Even, y'know, poor people?

Libgen also has many books online, including textbooks, searchable by name, author, and ISBN. Can you imagine textbook companies not getting their hard-earned income from poor college students? I studied abroad in London in 2014 and my British Politics professor literally brought in a former homeless woman who had been made not-homeless when, during the 2012 Olympics, she and everyone else were given temporary housing to keep them off the streets. and while some people returned to being homeless afterwards, most people didn’t, because it turns out it’s easier to get a job and be secure if you already have the house thing taken care of.

the government could absolutely fix homelessness today, and it would solve homelessness not just temporarily, but for the long term. but the government chooses not to, not because it’s expensive (it’s more expensive to have homeless people than it is to give them homes), not because it doesn’t work (there are a lot of studies confirming that it does), but because some people think that being poor is a moral failing that can only be solved by shitting on them some more.

You are not someone’s therapist. You do not know whether someone is faking or not. Fakeclaiming a system literally does nothing but possibly harm systems that don’t fit into your neat little box you want system to fit into and will probably convince newly discovered systems they’re been faking (Which wouldn’t even be the case, faking is a conscious action and if you don’t know if you’re faking then you’re obviously not)

Introject heavy / only system are not any less valid or real than systems with no Introjects. Our host, Ran, had an early disconnect from reality and only was able to cling to media / properly understand reality. We tend to go to media for comfort under extreme stress so we’re more likely to split introjects. This is probably a good reason why almost all our known alters are introjects, we are not any less valid than people with little to none. 

Self Diagnosed systems are not any less valid than Professionally Diagnosed systems. Minorities are more likely to get misdiagnosed due to bias as well as not everyone is in the right financial situation to get a diagnosis / not everyones parental figures believe them, let them, etc. Self Diagnosis can be a start to helping them get help and better understand themselves. Self Diagnosis is not looking at googles symptoms list and saying “Haha, Me!”.. It is doing extensive research into what people with that disorder have experienced, looking into the diagnosis criteria, talking to people with the disorder, etc.

Endogenic and other -genic systems other than traumagenic please stay out of traumagenic system spaces. Please keep a community to yourselves. I personally don’t really care what endos do but I still don’t want to interact with them + their supporters and would prefer if they keep their own community away from traumagenic systems. I know a lot of other systems think the same.

Newly discovered systems aren’t invalidating your existence as someone who knew they were apart of a system before more info was being spread. More info about DID/OSDD is being put out there so more people are figuring out themselves. We thought we just had DPDR until doing more research into OSDD and everything suddenly clicked. Its better to know when you’re younger anyways so I don’t know why people hold it as a trophy that they were diagnosed before it became “A TreNd”?? 

General statement. Why is it only a trend when young people with trauma/disorders and/or are neurodivergent try to figure out themselves? Why is it then a trend. Suddenly every young persons mental health concerns are faking because there’s no way a child would know about themself! Obviously for attention. /sarc. Maybe listen to children? Even if you are right and they’re faking it, there’s probably underlying issues that shouldn’t be ignored? People can be wrong about their self dxs and their mental health concerns and whatever, but that isn’t faking. Faking is a conscious action usually done for attention/praise/personal gain. While yes, faking a disorder is wrong and no one should do that - Again, that doesn’t mean someone faking doesn’t have their own problems that should be dealt with and their mental wellbeing should not ignored.

kids these days:

less unstructured time than ever, constant 'extracurricular' obligations cutting into time spent socializing, exploring, relaxing.

more supervised than ever, not allowed to take public transport or spend time alone in public spaces (previously the norm for teens and pre-teens, until media sensationalism made hypervigilance the norm). not allowed to be around peers except when adults are available to supervise/drive.

(despite the fact their parents are working more than ever? bc our whole culture around employment is abusive and exploitive. fewer and fewer families can afford to have parents at home, even as kids are allowed to do less and less without adult around.)

capitalism run amuck + defunding of parks, libraries, etc means it costs money just to exist in public, which is fucking nuts. (it also costs money just to get to public spaces. our world is less walkable than ever and public transport programs are constantly sabatoged. no wonder when kids are desperate to get their driver's permit--at extra expense and risk.)

and when kids do try to spend time away from home, they gets accused of loitering???

you've built an environment composed of nothing but soulless strip malls and chain coffeeshops, and decreed that kids who spend time there are a "nuisance." literally where the FUCK else are they supposed to exist? at the parks & sports fields you stopped funding? at the libraries you closed on weekends? at the movie theaters & arcades & restaurants they can't afford? on the streets they cannot drive on, on the sidewalks that lead nowhere, and where you have banned bicycling & skateboarding & rollerblading & existing for any length of time?

kids these days want to spend time outside, time in public, time hanging out with friends in person. kids these days do not want to constantly rely on the internet as their main source of socialization & leisure. but you have stolen all their options.

you have locked an entire generation indoors and thrown away the keys, and you have the audacity to complain that the prisoners spend too much time in their cells.
