That was just going to make the next minute all the funnier!
He can barely contain his laughter at the sight of the expression Adachi made when the man registered that the liquid in the cup Ai gave him was nothing close to the taste the boring old black coffee that he asked for would have. It’s even harder to hold back a laugh when Adachi came up to him, drink in hand, but he pulled it off somehow.
“Ai don’t know, did I?” Ai replied innocently. He managed to keep it cool for a grand total of one second. He couldn’t take it! “Ha! Ai Super Coffee Roulette!” He announced, and then burst out laughing.
“Your face! You should have seen it! You were like—” Ai paused to pull the same expression Adachi did a moment ago when he took a sip of the beverage for a moment before the expression broke away for another laugh. He’s never seen Kusanagi make coffee with maple syrup or salt, separately or together, but hey, good was good, right? Why wouldn’t you add good things to coffee?
He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye. Oh, this was the pinnacle of comedy. Ai was never going to forget that face.
“Admit it, that woke you up way better than the black coffee would’ve!”
“What.” Adachi started curtly, a raising temper bubbling just below the surface of his chest. Okay, calm down before you squeeze the life out of the coffee cup, Adachi.
Seriously, the amount of immaturity and lack of remorse in Ai just made him want to slap some sense into him. Of course-- it really wasn’t the time for that, deserved or not, and Adachi really needed to keep his cool. It wasn’t like anyone here had really seen a side of him that was not goofy or happy, yet, after all. Why waste his perfectly good image?
His chest rose and fell, and he shut his eyes in an attempt to calm his angry ass down as he did so. A long sigh escaped him as the taller male spoke. Ai Super Coffee Roulette... that’s right. Who the fuck let him out on a coffee run.. AGAIN?! This had happened before, which, had never ended with an unhappy Adachi, but the fact that everyone in the office still let Ai do coffee runs after what he does. Oh it made him angry.
That’s it. It was time to pull a Cloud. Well.. sort of. An Adachi-Cloud. Threaten to tattle... or.. No, convince a target switch.
Adachi’s face shifted to concern, eyebrows drawing upwards as lips formed into a frown. He started with a simple question, “Ai.... Does Madara know that you’ve been pulling pranks on everyone?!”
If Madara was brought up... Maybe Ai would think twice about doing this... Somehow Adachi knew that would not be enough, though.. There had to be more to it. Convince Ai to let Madara be the next victim, and then maybe they could score a coffee station of their own with the PD’s budget.
“What if he gets jealous that you haven’t included him in your funny prank yet?!”
