Currently reading Ravensong by T.J Klune and I'm not saying that he telepathically reached into my 19 year old brain 10 years ago and stole my unfinished, un published Sterek fanfic but there are a weird amount of similarities

Okay but are we gonna talk about Harry on the ground with a gun his hand. Pointed at a white man. Are we gonna talk about Buck shouting "don't shoot don't shoot he's with me, the guy with the gun is with me" and running to cover Harry with his body just in case. Are we gonna talk about Harry dropping the gun and putting his hands behind his head immediately, even though SWAT was still on the other end of the hallway and the shooter was right next to him. Are we gonna talk about little Harry in the back of his dad's car, waking up to a gun pointed at him. Are we gonna talk about that.

i am not immune to the idea of buck being overwhelmed with everything that comes with fostering theo and being responsible for a small child and heroic single dad eddie swoops in to help him in a reversal of their dynamic from s2 when eddie was overwhelmed and buck started helping him w chris

the thing is. theo is old enough to remember his parents. and he's already calling buck, buck. even if at some point he's old enough to understand that he can have two dads and decides to start calling buck dad as well that's always going to be his buck first. buck's name being synonymous to a parental moniker for both of his kids. christopher and theo and their buck.

I don't know who needs to hear this and let's face it it's more a take happening the other websites and not tumblr but you can love and adore your nurodivigent child more then anything and be doing everything to help them as best of your ability and still be over whelmed and exhausted by them these two things can coexist

it's also like. what is the logic of calling this storyline morally dubious when 1) buck never inserted himself into this kid's life when his parents were alive 2) he's clearly letting the state go through the usual process of finding a newly orphaned kid's next of kin INCLUDING theo being placed with pre-approved emergency fosters 3) they've said that they're looking for his family/chosen next of kin so if he ends up with buck it's clearly because he has no other options than being permanently put into the foster system. and considering his very clear adhd symptoms he would have a hard time finding a family who would adopt him anyway because people are awful and can't handle neurodivergent and traumatized children, as was buck's own experience with his own biological parents. so would you rather he NOT step up when theo needs a home?? evan buckley??? you want EVAN BUCKLEY to not fight for a child he has a connection to not only through biology, which is an incredibly small factor considering he was already half in love with him before he realized who his parents were, but also his dead friends' son????

What in the AO3 was that? The amount of fics I've seen where Connor and Cameron die in a car crash so Buck has to raise their child like I'm not complaining but this whole season feels like it was written on AO3

it's so funny to me how badly biology 101 "nature vs nurture" is kicking some people's asses rn. no I don't think canonizing buck's adhd since childhood erases his trauma responses to his parents' neglect. they go hand in hand. his parents could barely look at him because of him being a reminder of daniel but his adhd made him a problem to ignore because it made him loud and rambunctious and hyperactive and a risk-taker. all those things we've already seen. and then when the bicycle incident happened he realized he could use that to his advantage cause if he was just a little less careful they would keep looking at him even if they were looking through him. it's a cycle that fed into itself. the difference between buck and theo is in the nurture. buck's parents told him and maddie that they "never made it easy" on them, fully blaming them for everything. connor and kameron were recognizing that theo isn't being difficult on purpose and trying to find a diagnosis and a way to help him, even if they weren't going about it the best way.

As a high-key lover of deeply complicated characters, I LOVE love how they actually gave Mel an edge this season. Yeah, she can be obnoxiously controlling of her sister's life. Yeah, she's not immune to internalized ableism. Yeah, she can get angry and short about it when she feels slighted. Yeah, she curses when she's up in her anger. Yeah, she listens to and howls along to aggressive music as an emotional release valve.
