What I do:

I am mostly a writer! I like to share my writing and have started to share my works, cringy they may be to me, it might bring joy to others! I mostly write whenever I’m feeling down, it’s a stress reliever. Sometimes it’s nice to just get lost in the sauce and write some stories.

I am most known by close friends to write angst and hurt/comfort, but I do enjoy fluff from time to time.

Feel free to send me some asks! I’ll try to keep up with all of them.

I do NOT do…

-Smut or sexually explicit content. It’s something I personally don’t like doing and it makes me uncomfortable.

-promote incest, homophobia, pedophilia, racism, sexism, ableism, bigotry etc, of any kind. I want to promote kindness not hate.

-Cancel culture. From what I’ve experienced and seen it’s damaging and all out toxic. I truly believe there are better ways to handle problems and issues around a brand or person besides all out Twitter war.

-Proship/proshippers, for the controversy and uncomfortable things I’ve seen from people who claim they are/ use this term, I don’t want to support the idea of it/the term.

Basically, just be kind! I know that sounds cheesy but I really do want to be in a positive place and mindset.

A call for discussion because I’m curious and want to learn a bit more.

With the circulation of James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ I’ve seen praise for the movies, but I haven’t seen much opinion from the native people who’s culture and tribes were said to be inspired and created the clans on Pandora.

The newest addition to the cast, Oona Chaplin, is an indigenous woman, but is casted as one of the main villains while the other main characters are played by non indigenous actors. I found that a bit strange.

Not to mention, the white savior trope of the first movie.

So here’s the question, if people wish to make tribal/indigenous like characters for their stories, what is the most respectful way to go about it? What could James Cameron have done differently? What other shows or media have either done well or disrespected native culture?

NOT that anyone needs MY opinion on the frankenstein (2025) moment but…… something that invariably aggravates me about these “adaptations” of classic literature is that they so often end up being trojan horses for a very different story that, for whatever reason, appeals to the writer/director more.

Gale has narcissistic tendencies and, without the main character steering him one way or another, would have gotten himself killed anyway. Gale actively manipulates others to get them to say what he wants them to say instead of taking in the fact that he is reaching for something impossible.

People are allowed to critique Astarion and you don’t get to treat him like an infant because of his SA and history of abuse.

Wyll is the only one who is the main character if Tav didn’t exist and is the most important to the story but, due to racist game makers, they continue to try and diminish his role.

Shadowheart and Lae’zel are villainized by the same people who idolize Gale and Astarion because of sexism

Bg3 fandom can’t like a character without trying to justify everything they do instead of noticing the faults and the potential the storylines had if the creators didn’t cater to fan service.

(Late) Rook Wednesday

Does your Rook like the rain?

Koda likes rain! Just not storms. Yes, to them, there is a difference. Rain is calming, a little annoying if they're out on a contract, but inside taking cover, its nice to listen to. Now, aggressive downpour with loud BANG and CRACKS all the time is NOT calming... That's Koda's take. There's a reason for it.

What is your Rook's favorite rainy day activity?

Reading. Koda likes to read by a fire with some tea. Maybe with a friend or two. Before her death, they spent lots of time with Lace under a yawning with a campfire when it was raining. They like spending those days with friends and, after Solas, appreciates them more ever since Lace died, wanting to honor her memory.

What was the worst storm your Rook went through?

A thunderstorm caused by the infamous Kahfka... when Koda got their scars and their shaking hands. Koda hates thunder and lightning for that reason. Pre-Solas and during- they dreaded it. When they heard it, they were always looking at the sky, expecting the beast to come down where they were so they could shoot an arrow through its eye once an for all.... After Solas, if Koda spares Kahfka, they get used to the storms and take it as a time to reflect. Kahfka made his hoard near Treviso, and whenever there is a surge in thunder, Koda knows Kahfka is hunting. But never near the village or hunting the citizens. Now, those storms are a reminder that a friend is nearby, offering protection and respect.

I can’t believe this has to be said but… you know Sam is upset at the thunderbolts* because he doesn’t want the avengers to be controlled but the government, right? That’s why he was on team cap in civil war. Do you know that? It’s important to me that you know that.

Sam’s anger is justified

Imagine you having to prove yourself for so long, to the government, to your country, that you are worthy and aren’t defined by the color of your skin only for a group of people who were and had hurt you and beat you up in the past were so easily accepted and are running under the same government that deems you unworthy of being Captain America and one of them is your best friend who is now abiding under the same system you sought out to go against because of how unfair and unjust it is

If you think so otherwise, you’re letting your racism show
