Milkshake is a booty-centric dance workout for ALL bodies. Practice and explore the history of intersecting styles of dance including twerk, wine and bounce. You will also find hip openers, strength building, and shaking it every way it feels good. This is a queer/sex positive and body positive space, with sexually explicit dance tracks. All experience levels welcome. Dress to sweat and bring water.

Want to know more about what this is? “Dance Church is a safe space created for people to find sanctuary in their own movement. Acknowledging a room full of human beings with a common intention; self exploration & the release of fear/judgement. We begin every Dance Church with a collective breathing. Rooting ourselves into the earth, and becoming fully present in our bodies. After filling ourselves with our own energy we open up the dance floor ? After two hours of free movement, accompanied by a playlist of eclectic music, we all sit down and devote our attention to anyone that would like to share. We call this “story telling” – Being a witness to someone’s process, and having the opportunity to open up and be received.”

Today we’re celebrating the memory of nearly 2.5 years of meeting weekly to practice the art and science (experiment) of radical play, clown army training, and absurdist story making at Lightbox Kulturhaus. Here’s a clip of some regular players from September 2012. The family has scattered, reformed, and gone out into the sunshine again. The training lives on, but stay tuned for who knows what form it may take!
