Komaegi and 41, and I'm sorry but like would you be interested in indulging me with some Tsumikawa and 8???
Iâm still working on the Komaegi, so have some Tsumikawa for your birthday! Iâve never written this pairing before, but it was fun! I actually tried experimenting with my writing style a little bit here. It shouldnât look too different, but hopefully itâll be an overall improvement! Happy Birthday!
Fukawa froze when she heard the sound of breaking glass, herfountain pen leaving a smudge of ink on the paper. With a sigh, she stood fromher desk and headed across the carpeted floor of her shared bedroom. She hadlived with Tsumiki for almost a year now, so she wasnât surprised when sheentered the hallway and found Tsumiki sobbing.
âWh-what happened? Why are you c-crying?â
âAh, Fukawa-san!â Tsumiki spun around to face Fukawa, herface streaked with tears. Fukawa saw the shards of glass at her feet. âI-I-Iâmso sorry! I didnât mean to drop it!â
Fukawa chewed at her thumb. She didnât quite understandTsumikiâs talent in breaking everything she touched. Just last month shemanaged to shatter five plates. It had moved past annoying and was now vaguelyimpressive.
âWhatever. Just m-make sure you clean it upâŠâ
âYes! Iâll do that right now, so please, please donât hateme, Fukawa-san!â In a panic, Tsumiki crouched down and began scooping up the piecesof glass with her dress. Then she yelped. Fukawa saw a flash of red across herpalm and quickly looked away.
âThatâs why youâve got to b-be more careful, idiot! Ugh,wait hereâŠâ Fukawa hurried inside their bedroom to find the first aid kit. Tsumikiwas really obsessed with taking care of sick and injured people, so she alwayshad one handy. By the time Fukawa returned, she could smell the blood in theair and it made her sick to her stomach.
âHere.â She held the first aid kit out, as far away fromherself as possible, her eyes firmly on the floor. She knew if she saw so muchas a drop of blood sheâd faint. âYou can t-treat it yourself, right?â
âOh, of course! Thank you so much, Fukawa-san!â
Tsumiki took the first aid kit with her good hand. Fukawacould picture the smile certainly lighting up Tsumikiâs face.
âIâm used to taking care of my own injuries,â Tsumikiexplained, her voice cheerful as she opened the box. âI get hurt a lot, andsince no one would help me when I was little I got really good at treating cutsand bruises and other wounds.
Fukawa tried to look up, but she saw Tsumiki cleaning thewound and quickly turned her eyes back to the floor.
âYou⊠You had to d-do that all by y-yourself?â
âThatâs right,â Tsumiki said with a smile. âSo, it doesnâtreally matter when I fall over, or when I walk into doors, or trip over tables, because I know exactly what to do when I get hurt. And because of that, I canhelp lots of people!â She spoke as if this was a perfectly normal, and somehowthat made it much worse. Fukawa balled her hands into fists at her sides.
âC-come here.ââHuh? Whyâ?â
âJust d-do it already.â
Tsumiki shuffled forward, and Fukawa dropped down to herknees so that they were at eye level. She reached into the box and pulled outthe bandages.
âFukawa-san, you donât have toâŠâ
âI d-donât care. Be q-quiet.â
Fukawa still couldnât bring herself to look at the blood, soshe stared at the top of Tsumikiâs head as she blindly wrapped the bandagearound Tsumikiâs hand. She knew how clumsy it probably looked, and her cheeksflushed red at the idea, but she pushed the thought away and continued herwork.
âThere,â Fukawa said, lowering her eyes to the floor, herface burning. âIf you want to l-laugh, then get it o-over with.â
âTh⊠Thank you so much, Fukawa-san!â she sobbed, holding herbandaged hand to her chest like it was a precious gift. âNo oneâs ever donethis for me before⊠Thank you so, so much!â
âHmph. I c-canât believe youâre blubbering over s-somethinglike this,â Fukawa muttered, but truthfully, seeing Tsumiki so happy made asmile creep along her face. âCome on. We still need to c-clean up the glass.â
Once Tsumiki had calmed down, they brushed the glass into adustpan and disposed of it. Fukawa sighed, relieved as she imagined returningto her writing. She noticed Tsumiki staring down at her bandaged hand lovingly,as if she were looking at a wedding ring.
âHow d-did you break this glass, anyway?â
âHuh? Oh, umâŠâ Tsumiki looked away, blushing with a nervoussmile. âWell, youâve been working so hard lately, and itâs important to stayhydrated, so I wanted to bring you a glass of water⊠But I tripped, and theglass smashed. I-Iâm really sorry, Fukawa-san! It was an accident, I promise!â
âItâs f-fine, okay? I know you didnât mean to b-break it,âFukawa said, not wanting Tsumiki to cry again. âBesides, the fact that you weret-trying to do something for me m-makes me⊠happy.â She said the words with an embarrassedgrimace. Tsumiki could only beam in response.
âYou really are kind, Fukawa-san. Iâm so happy I met you!â
Fukawa muttered something under her breath, but her smallsmile betrayed her real feelings.
