Day 1/365
Happy New Year.
Everyone is saying that everywhere.
Sometimes even with a reiteration of a generic message sent online.
But what does it really mean when we say that?
I get tired of people repeatedly saying "New year, new life" every single year and yet they don't really change, at least not in a way that matters.
Today, however started not in the typical kabooms of fireworks or the shrill blow of trumpets, it actually started quite in a peaceful manner with my mum saying "wake up and let's go to church."
It was a little though that we arrived in the local church during communion and it isn't really going to church if you only attend the closing part of the mass so my mum messaged her sister inquiring if there were masses in the central province that begins at 11 and by the good Father's grace, he led us to the Sacred Heart Seminary.
The mass was captivating. I am the kind of person with a vivid imagination, constantly cultivated by books and audio-visual arts, so when the preacher drifted away from the traditional preaching and started to tell a story, my entire attention was caught single handedly.
It is really intriguing how the world before Christ worked. But if there is one person who really stood up, its the mother of the Messiah. The only one bestowed with the title "full of Grace" which is in the most literal sense. Nobody understood how the birth of Christ happened except for Mary. And the people in her time, respected her to carefully choose the words to describe her such as stated in the book of Luke. She is truly a remarkable example of a mother who wholeheartedly devoted her life to the will of God and unconditionally love her son. She stood by Christ through everything. From the joy, laughter, the tears and the heartbreaks. Her love continued. And her Faith was relentless.
I think Love cannot go without Faith. Why? Because LOVE wouldn't be worth it without a great leap of faith. It takes a lot of belief and trust to actually work. And Mary is great symbol of that. She'd often say "Be it done unto me according g to your word" because of her faith to God and her love for her son. She stood by him regardless of all the persecution in the faith that everything is gonna be fine in the end. And it all turned out even greater.
If only we could all find it in ourselves to take the well needed leap of faith, i think we are all going to turn out great. Not only today did make me reflect my inner thoughts but it taught me one thing. It is joyous to celebrate the coming of another year because with it comes a new beginning that we can all partake in. Renew our lives and our souls so we may all serve our own purpose in the world. Take every day in a stride and every challenge like a wave that eventually passes until such time that when we look back we can proudly say, "I survived"
Afterall, this painful world we love in is merely temporary. And when the day comes that we all get to heaven, only then will be feel joy in truest, purest sense.
So Gloria in Excelsis Deo and Immanuel to you.
