To be honest, I am full of shit But that's alright Because everyone else that I know is It's just a tough thing For us humans to admit Yes, we all have the question but we don't know what the answer is Oh, the brain is a funny place
“oh yeah? is that so?” she taunted with pure amusement laced through her tone. “that’s because you regulars have no style. i could think of a million ways to spice up your journey every morning, but nope. you opt for the boring one.” he had a point though and kaela wasn’t entirely sure whether or not it was slight bitterness she felt as he stated the difference between them or guilt or – whatever the hell it was, but it was something and she felt it. “well all you had to do is ask,” she turned to face him with a raised brow and a daring expression, hoping he would catch on to what she was suggesting. “well, i mean, it’s up to you, you probably have better things to do than continue doing what you’ve been doing all day.”
“And how do you suggest I “spice up” my journey? Because everything I am thinking of now results in me running head first into wall or getting lost,” he laughed throwing a small smile her way. He caught on to what she was saying giving him a smirk of her own as they both stood up, “Doesn’t it feel weird? Like can you feel your body passing through a wall?” he asked raising an eyebrow, he had trained Mykaela for a while so he had seen her powers multiple times first hand. “I’d so be down for some wall walking, as long as it doesn’t hurt or anything.” he moved across the room setting up some of the obstacles and weights for her, “I was just gonna get a protein shake and watch some TV, but I’m always down to help out. I’ll set some things up and we can do a small obstacle course. But to challenge you, you can’t phase through it, deal?”
“why even mention that’d you’d teach me if you could? now i’m going to go the rest of my life with a hole in my heart as i wonder spend the rest of my days saying, what if griffin taught me how to properly flip a bottle that day?” she nodded, “yeah, got out a little bit earlier than usual, things have been all too slow lately in the lab if you ask me. it’s worrying. if nothing’s going the wrong way, then is it even really going right at all?” aline shook her head, “anything different happening in training?” she asked as she moved from the door way and nodded to indicated that she’d like for them to walk together.
“Hey now, I told you it’s unteachable, it’s just a natural skill I have,” he mused pushing her playfully with his shoulder. “I’m sure it’ll pick up in no time, around here there always seems to be something coming for us,” he started walking down the hallway in step with the other girl, “It’s been the same ole same ole here,” he shrugged, “Lots of pent up anger, lots of getting hit with rouge powers, lots of complaining.” he shook his head with a laugh. “I mean, I love my job, just some of these kids are too stubborn for their own good,” he paused looking at her sideways, “I guess you don’t really have to deal with that in the lab and all.”
pacing further into the training room, the dark haired femme places a bottle of water upon a small table resident there, eyes examining the room before they fall back upon griffin. her features read disamusement; despite the fact the idea of him chanting his own name in their assembly was quite the entertaining thought. “if you’d like to be the laughing stock of the facility — by all means, be my guest.” throwing down a small bag that had been occupying her right shoulder, delaney begins to search through it’s contents for hand wraps. “the latter,” simply, she responds with; gaze trained to her own hands as she speaks. “i had been hoping to use the room in the upper right wing, but it seems to be occupied, much to my dismay.” FINALLY, dark orbs meet his. “i take it by the celebration you’ve just finished a successful training session?”
Griffin was taken aback by her tone. He used his humor to diffuse situations all the time but this particular time it wasn’t working. “I, uh, am not sure you should be talking to me like that. I am considered your superior.” he huffed out rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn’t good at this whole discipline thing, despite being a trainer. His eyes followed the girl as she moved to put her hand wraps on, when she finally met his eyes he tilted her head to side questioning. “Yeah, I guess,” he grumbled moving his bag to the other shoulder, “It’s all yours.”
mykaela could only feign a disappointed expression as she shook her head side to side. “see this is why you don’t have all the cheerleaders screaming griffin! griffin! griffin! after you,” a small laugh escaped her lips as she spoke. “well a little bit of both, actually. i mean, you can’t expect me to walk all the way from the dorms to here when i can just walk in a straight line, right?” she shrugged gently, lifting herself from the wall to help him pack up what was left. “but yeah, usually this room is finished with now so i thought it’d be empty.”
“Please, I have all the cheerleads chanting my name all the time,” Griffin laughed running a hand through his curls, “they’re just on break right now. He shrugged at her, “You know us regulars have to do that everyday.” Sometimes it was weird being one of the only ones in the facility that didn’t have some fantastic power, he’d often walk around and the kids were doing all these fantastical things and he couldn’t help but feel a little jealous of it all. “If I tried to walk through walls, I’d end up with a concussion,” he laughed nodding in thanks as she started helping him. “Yeah, I was just packing up now,” he answered, “If you wanted more training I cans stay,”
Mia cheered while he bowed, her applause petering out as he played along. She bit her lip and checked him out while he pulled his shirt back on. “Glad I made it back in time for the show,” she winked, then nodded when he asked if she forgot something. “I forgot to take these off… can you help me? It’s hard to get the laces off one-handed…” She held out her wrists to him, showing him the weights and fluttering her lashes while she looked up at him.
Griffin shook his head laughing at girl in front of him. “Glad I could be of entertainment,” he watches as she held her wrists out to him. He stepped closer to her careful not to get to close not wanting to break any unspoken boundaries, she was his student after all. He gripped her wrists untying the loose knots on one side. “I’m really sure how you managed to get so far without realizing you still had these on,” he mused shaking his head before moving his hands to other wrist. He easily pulled them off careful not to let his fingers linger on the soft skin too long. He backed away taking the weights with him. He juggled them lightly in his hands before moving to put them back in their proper case.”You really shouldn’t walk out with the equipment.”
it wasn’t ideal, but after a trip to her usual training room within the facility, delaney had noted it was rather occupied and given the fact the femme was known to be quite impatient; she certainly wasn’t going to stand around and WAIT. a childish, huffed breath and a walk around the facility later — this was were she wound up as a second option. albeit, the LAST thing she was expected to walk in on was one of the trainers.. doing whatever in gods name it was currently unfolding before her. “i GUESSED as much,” voice apathetic as she speaks to him, lacking the humor others may have felt upon catching him in act. “or at least, i hoped that was something you savored for your alone time rather than to preform for others.” really, she should’ve known better than to speak to a staff member in such a manner — but considering her recent frustrations with the facilities staff getting on her ass about e v e r y t h i n g, and the irritation on missing out on her favorite training room; she simple wasn’t in the mood to feign a smile.
As soon as Griffin realized who had interrupted and saw the look on her face she could see it wasn’t going to be a pleasant conversation. He closed his eyes tightly at the girls sharp tone, trying to keep from snapping back on her like he would have in the past. “I don’t know, I thought it wasn’t that bad. Maybe I’ll try it out at our next assembly,” he joked trying to diffuse the clearly awkward situation. Jokes seemed to be his go to for any tense situation. He shrugged moving out of the girls way, she clearly had her mind set on something. “Uh- um, did you need something? or are you just here to get some extra training in?” he asked nodding in the direction of the machines throughout the room.
mykaela had been done with her official training for today quite a while back, the downside of being classified into different teams meant different training times and different classes to her friends, which often lead to her not hanging out with them until much, much, later in the day. that was after she had done her own individual training in the rooms after they had been finished with for the day, and that’s consequently where the female had found herself now. though it wasn’t entirely empty just yet. she had debated just waiting outside until the male had finished up but when she started hearing his voice, she couldn’t help but find herself amused and watching even more so. “oh no, don’t let me stop you,” she raised a more than amused brow as she leant against one of the pillars. “go on, keep going.”
Griffin smiled at the girl before moving to get up off the bench. “Nah, I think that’s enough for one day. Plus I’m not sure I could do it agian,” he slid his shirt before looking down at her. “You here for more training?” he moved to start cleaning up the equipment that was around the room from the last session. “Or are you just wondering around the halls?” he stopped for a second remembering just who he was talking to. “actually I should say phasing through all the halls?”
aline didn’t get all that much time in a day to see the boy, so when she walked past the door and heard his voice, she couldn’t help but wander into the training room. it wasn’t really up to the blonde to oversee the training aspect of the program, but she liked to check on griffin every once in a while, he was a staff members she found to be more bearable than most. aline stood pressed against the door with an eyebrow raised as she noticed what he’d done. the blonde was impressed, she didn’t have a touch of hand eye coordination at all, but she couldn’t help but laugh at the boy’s dance “no, no, by all means go ahead i mean if you don’t cheer for yourself, who else will?” she said. she closed her eyes for a moment realising how sharp what she said was, “i mean… cool trick, i couldn’t even throw it in the air to begin with.”
Griffin rolled his eyes at the blonde leaning down to pick up the water bottle, “Shut up,” he teased walking towards her, “You’re just jealous that you don’t have my superior hand eye coordination,” he held up his hands wiggling them in good effort, “I’d say I could teach you but my skills are unteachable, they’re all nat-ur-al.” He grabbed his shirt off one of the nearby tables pulling it over his head. “You done in the lab for today?” he asked moving to start packing up some of the extra equipment laying around into his gym bag. He rarely got to see the Aline because she always seemed to spend every waking hour in the lab, or at least to him it seemed like ever waking hour. She was one of the employees in facility that he actual struck up a friendship with. “Want to walk back together?”
Mia had almost made it all the way to the cafeteria before she realized that she still had her bulky training weights strapped to her ankles and wrists. With a heavy sigh, she found herself trudging back across the facility, dragging her heels the whole way. But when she arrived back at the gym, her eyes lit up with amusement at the treat that awaited her, a smug smile on her face at the sight of the trainer dancing around like an idiot. She stood there, transfixed, not daring to make a sound lest this strange performance come to an untimely end, but all too soon he noticed her anyway. “Oh, please, don’t stop on my account. Griffin, Griffin, Griffin!” She echoed his chant, clapping her hands while she cheered.
Griffin blushed for a moment looking down realized she must have seen his whole performance. He rubbed his neck before looking up with a smile. “Thank you, thank you.” he decided to play along giving a bow before leaning down to pick up the water bottle off the floor. “Always glad to please my adoring fans,” he smirked pulling his shirt over his head,“Uh- did you forget something?” he questioned raising his eyebrows at the red head.
Griffin perched on the edge of the workout bench. The training had gone quiet, the last of the straggling trainees having left a while ago. It had been an easy training session just a simple HIIT workout with some strength training to keep everybody in top shape. He had finished off with a small workout of his own, now he was just regaining his breath. He was playing with the water bottle in his hands passing it back and forth between his hands. “He shoots,” he paused flipping the water bottle into the air with a flick of his wrist, “and he scores and the crowd goes wild!” he jumped up arms waving in the air. “And the crowd starts chanting... Griffin! Griffin! Griffin!” he turns doing his dorky victory dance, he stops in his tracks noticing somebody in the door, “Shit. I didn’t see you there...”
hi it’s jackie again, miss me?? okay so i had griffin’s bio all written out then my computer crashed and it didn’t get saved kms, anyways so i am a lot less prepared for griffin then ainsley so his factsheet and connections are currently in the works! also just an fyi this is a sideblog! hmu for plots with this goofball!! [tw: mentions of alcohol & drug abuse, overdose and death]

THE { COMIC } CAN BE SEEN AS { ANIMATED & ZEALOUS }, BUT ON A BAD DAY THEY CAN BE { FOOLISH & OBNOXIOUS }. (( JACKIE, 20, CST, SHE/HER ))
so basically griffin is stiles from teen wolf mixed with a workout junkie. he’s just a big ole nerd with bad jokes who also loves to work out his little trainees and teach them about clean eating
tragic background ahead;
griffin grew up in a small one bed room apartment in brooklyn, ny with her single mom. his father walked on the two when griffin was only about 14 months old. being a momma’s boy at heart, griffin has never had any desire to seek out or contact his father. he left them barely scraping by with his mom’s one pay check. his mom is a nurse who mostly works hours everybody else can’t. because she wasn’t home often griffin learned how to be independent early on in life.
because of his early life he got in with the wrong crowd in high school, getting hooked on drugs, alcohol and partying. this caused tension with his mother and his motivation at school. it became hard for him to go more then a week without getting a fix. this lifestyle continued pass graduation (he just scrapped by) and into his adulthood. rather then attending college, griffin was living with a large group of his friends and working at a local corner market
during this time griffin was quite the casanova, while high or drunk he’d hook up with girls and boys leaving them before the sun was up the next day. the cycle went on and on until he met julia at a bar one night. the two quickly hit it off and she became his first serious girlfriend. she was one of the only people he ever found that could keep up with his lifestyle. the two quickly moved in together starting a regular life of partying, drugs and sometimes working.
3 years ago, griffin came one night to find julia unmoving on their shared bed. turns out she had overdosed. after finding her griffin made the decision then in there things had to change. he began attending NA and AA meetings.
working out was suggested as a way to help with the process. it quickly became a passion of griffin’s. he’d often spends hours everyday at the gym. he also took up clean eating in an attempt to help with the damage he had caused his body.
it was through one of the members he knew in AA that told him the facility was looking for personal trainers. he quickly jumped on the offer wanting to get away from him past. luckily he had been training in MMA and boxing a bit making him the perfect candidate. now that he is here he
basically he has a crazy wild past but is clean little baby now and has been working at the facility for the past 2.5 years so he knows a lot of the kids/people (some are older then him??) extremely well.
;now some headcanons;
griffin consistently preaches clean eating to his trainee’s because he’s EXTRA
he likes to tell really bad jokes and make stupid impressions always wanting to make those around him laugh, having gone through hard times himself he never wants anybody to feel like that
he stays away from alcohol or drugs of any kind not wanting to relapse, plus do you know how bad that is for your body???
because of losing his first love so tragically it is hard for griffin to let anybody in. he hasn’t been with anybody since her. (THAT DOESN’T MEAN HE WONT, GIVE ME THOSE CONNECTIONS!!! (:< )
he’s actually ecstatic about the possibility of the trainee seeing some real action knowing how powerful they are first hand, he believes in fully what the company is doing. he thinks it’s the only way to take down thanos for good.
he’s also quite clever and cunning despite not having powers himself he gets into the mind of his trainees and plans out various plans of attacks using their various powers (kinda like a football couch!!!)
