I'll save you some reading and make this short. My family is way behind on rent and will be evicted in November if we don't pay the amount needed. If we get evicted, my mom will lose custody of my siblings, I won't make it to college again, and I will lose my dog.

Infinite:Hmm...Well if that’s the case then maybe we can go check the HQ now since Swift and shadow are resting?

Grima:As a type of surprise? That...that would be a pretty fun idea.🙂

Infinite:This May be the service HQ your going to but I’m still coming with as a good service animal should.

~Some time later arriving at service animal HQ~

Employee #1:Hello there Grima and Infinite, it’s good to see you two again, is there something I can help you with?

Grima:It’s good to see you too,🙂 we recently moved in with Swift and Shadow so we figured we’d Surprise them with a new service animal, but maybe one in training so they can become a full fledged service animal in our care and we an help them become a full fledged service animal.

Employee #1:We have a few who are free to be given a client. *hands over a list*

Grima:Hmm....*Sees Mephiles* Can we see Mephiles?

Employee #1:*Spits out water* M-Mephiles? Are you sure you want to take him in?

Grima:Yes I’d like to see him. Why is something wrong?

Employee:He volunteered like most yes but... he’s a bit....hostile.

Grima and Infinite:*Look at each other then back at th employee*

Grima:Wha-What do you mean?🤨

Employee:Everyone that tried to get close to him he growls and almost attacks them even potential clients too we aren’t even sure why he volunteered...we had to literally put him in a sort of cage just to keep him from attacking anyone else.

Grima:Wha-Why would you do that??? Show me where he is!😠

Employee: O-Ok yes sir. *gulps and hurried to show Grima and Infinite Where Mephiles is*

*after finding Mephiles cage*

Employee:E-Everyone else even the ones who’ve been given a chance to reduce their sentencing usually get rooms of their own if they don’t have a home but we didn’t have time to find Mephiles one... here he is..*Gulps still scared*

Grima:*Looks inside the cage and sees Mephiles* Wait that’s...Oh my chaos...😳

Infinite:You know them Grima?

Grima:I do...back in the war when I was trying to escape one of the attacked cites I got hurt terribly, but someone found me and took care of me, Mephiles was the one who found me, at the moment he wasn’t sure why he did it...but he said something made him want to help me, so how it went...

Employee:So your the reason why he wanted to volunteer in the first place, helping you made him feel accomplished maybe?

Grima:Maybe...*Gently taps the cage*

Mephiles:*Looks at the door and from sitting on his bed in a corner and immediately gets up but walks slowly to the door* 😶

Grima:*places hand on cage door* it’s me...Grima...you saved me a long time ago.

Mephiles:*Looks at Grima’s hand and sniffs it remembering the scent*

Grima:I’d like to write a contract with Mephiles.

Employee:Y-Yes I’ll get the papers right away! *Runs off*

Grima:*Goes to head back to the front hall but Mephiles is slightly holding Grima’s hand* Don’t worry Mephiles, I’ll be in the front hall, you’ll see me again soon I promise.

Mephiles:*Looks at Grima’s hand and hesitantly let’s go*

Grima:See you soon Mephiles. *Heads back to the front with Infinite*

~Few mind later~

Some employee’s are coming with papers and Mephiles having a collar with a chain around his neck so he doesn’t attack anyone passing by.

Grima:Hey Mephiles. *Grima walks up to Mephiles when they get to the front desk*

Mephiles:*sniffs Grima a little and calms down a bit*

The employee hands over the papers for the contract and Grima and Mephiles sign it.

Employee:I’m still amazed Mephiles is so different around you, your pretty special Grima..We hope you three have a wonderful time together. *The employee looks at the contract amazed Grima chose the permenant one*

Grima:Thank you. *Politely bows to the employees and turns to Mephiles opening his arms for a hug*’

Mephiles:*Looks at Grima and slowly walks towards Grima hugging back resting his chin on Grima’s shoulder*

Grima:It’s so good to see you again Mephiles...thank you for protecting me back then, is it ok if I carry you back home this time? Like you did for when you took me to the closest resistance camp?

Mephiles:....it’s...good to see you to, I’m glad I finally found you...and yes...you may.

Infinite:It’s good to meet you Mephiles, thanks for...well keeping Grima safe back then.

Mephiles:*Growls a little holding onto Grima a bit*

Grima:It’s Ok Mephiles That’s Infinite, He’s an old friend of mine, he’s a service animal too.

Mephiles:*Calms down slightly but not by much*

Grima:*gently puts Mephiles over his shoulder and begins to walk out*

Mephiles:*Dangled over his shoulder confused and does something with his eyes like he’s smirking at the employees for finally finding a client*

~after arriving back home~

Grima:*Heads inside after infinite opened the door for them* Here we are, home sweet home.

Mephiles:*Look around dangling over Grima’s shoulder still*

Grima sets Mephiles down so he can look around the house a bit more which he does and comes back to Grima.

Grima:*Gives a gently smile* heheh,Welcome home Mephiles.😊😇

how do any of you feel about being called service "animal" like humans used to call their pets? it's just feel kind of weird to me, i would more see that as "assistant" but it sounds more like they "own" you

“We are animals. Hedgehogs, foxes, echidnas, bats, chameleons. The only two who aren’t animals, technically speaking, is Charmy and Mephiles.” Shadow pointed out.

“And technically, in a way, they do own us.” Silver spoke up, having just walked in with a small group of others. 

“They pay the organization who in return pay us, our clients let us live with them, they also take care of us in return.” Sonic stated. “The only difference between us and a pet, is the fact that we choose to do this. Every service animal working here volunteered to be here. A human’s service animal doesn’t choose for themselves, they are chosen.”

“Besides,” Knuckles spoke up. “a human’s service animal can’t call out for help or defend itself if its client abuses them. A number of us have had former clients who tried to take advantage of us. But we have a voice and those people have been dealt with.”

“Also, I hear that, for humans, sometimes when they go to a store or restaurant, the staff try to kick them out because they brought an animal into the building.” Amy said. “That’s not right. It’s cruel, not only to the service animal, but to the human as well.”

“Here in Mobius, everyone is an animal.” Tails said. “Assistants are usually people who follow around business people, taking calls and making appointments and stuff. The best way to distinguish an assistant and a service animal is to call a service animal, well, a service animal.”

Infinite:Exactly and those of us go have a permanent contract like shadow and I chose to stay with the same owner because their very close to us, like how Grima is an old friend of mine who’s dealt with so much that it’s affected his mental health and emotional health, so I want to stay with him so that I can in turn keep helping him and protect him.

“We live together. The house is rather full with three service animals.” Swiftica said with a giggle.

Grima:*Tosses infinite over his shoulder tickling him a little then carries him and their two bowls of dinner to the bedroom* Alright time for bed.

Grima:*Gently puts the bowls on the night stand and outs infinite down on the bed and lays down next to him handing him his bowl* Alright cuddle time right after our foods done.

Infinite:Alright whenever finishes their food first is big spoon.

Grima:*Puts bowl on nightstand wiping his face* Ah all done.

Infinite:😳 Well. That was super fast. *Finishes his food and turns around after putting his bowl away* Alright cuddle time.

Infinite:You too Grima. *Wraps his tail around Grima and falls asleep* 😴

Infinite:I’m making sure he doesn’t start to feel pain when I’m not around.

Mephiles: It’s been almost two weeks now though he hasn’t thrown up since then.

Infinite:But he really, really went through it when he did his recovery has been slow.

Mephiles: And if he does need something he would tell you, or me, you need to get some rest, you’ve been stressing out over him ever since he got the food poisoning. He’s strong and you’ve always taken care of him even if this is his first time having food poisoning.

Infinite:*Sighs* I know he would, but...it’s hard not to think about it you know what if something does happen to him? And no ones there? It’s something that’s on my mind a lot, sure I can rush over to him but...what if by the time I get to him it’s gotten a lot worse?

Mephiles:You know he’d come and find you if you for some reason weren’t near him when something does happen, he keeps you close almost all the time and you stay with him no matter what. And now you’ve got more people to help.

Infinite:I...I know. *pets Grima gently*

Grima:*purrs*

Mephiles:Then try to relax, calm yourself and you might as well try to rest, you’ve been practically restless since it happened, just cuddle up with him and make a mental note.

Infinite:Hmm...I guess that’s a good idea.

Mephlies:You taught me that.

Infinite:That’s true..

Mephiles:Then Rest, if he needs something or someone tries to bother him, I’ll be ready.

Infinite:Hm..thank you, Mephiles.🙂

Mephiles:Get some sleep, save your breath for when your more rested. *gets up and walks out of the room*

Guilt-tripping RP Partners - Don’t Do It

Things we’ve all heard before. Don’t be this person.

“You hate me.”

This isn’t okay. This is honestly one of the most manipulative, guilt-trippy things out there. It doesn’t matter what the context is. Don’t do it.

“But they’re rping with with other people instead.”

So? Don’t be possessive of your RP partners. They can RP with others and so can you. They aren’t an object. They are a person and they can choose to RP with anyone they wish to. It’s not a reflection of their feelings about you. It’s just them having fun.

“But they aren’t talking to me anymore either. They dumped me for someone else.”

If this is really true then you have a right to be upset but you still don’t have a right to guilt-trip the person. For a few reasons:

1. It’s still their choice who they RP with. People move on sometimes. Perhaps the RP with you wasn’t what they wanted and they found what they want elsewhere. Maybe things between your muses just wasn’t clicking how they wanted. Maybe things weren’t clicking on an OOC level. Whatever the reason, it doesn’t matter. It’s their RP, their muse, their time to spend how they want.

2. Guilt-tripping is not the way to ever get them to RP with you again. Obviously, they moved one for some reason. Maybe it was personal and maybe not. but being this way won’t help matters. All you’ve done is reinforce to them that they made the right call.

3. While you may feel the need to let the person know that they hurt your feelings, this isn’t the way to express that. Most of the time, it’s better to simply let these things go. They’ve moved on, so should you. 

But in the case you wish to express to someone that they hurt your feelings for moving on from you, the better thing to say would be along these lines:

“I’m disappointed that we don’t RP together anymore. I miss it. If you ever want to pick it back up again, please let me know.”

Meeting People

Gemstone City was home to hundreds of thousands of Mobians. Half of that population volunteered at the local and sole establishment called ‘Mobians-4-Mobians’, a government funded business created to help those in need both in mental and physical disabilities, but also those who are poor and homeless. ‘Mobians-4-Mobians’ was unique in the sense that their volunteers had the option to be paid for their services, being paid with some of the government funding. Mobians didn’t just volunteer to work at the office, but also volunteered to take on the role of ‘Service Animals’.

One such volunteer was also a client, being one of the first to acquire her service animal. Her name was Swiftica, and her service animal was the one and only Shadow the Hedgehog. 

One quiet morning, Swiftica, accompanied by Shadow, went for a walk through the city’s central park, a large expanse of lightly forested land. The weather was starting to warm and the sun shone earlier in the day. The chocolate brown feline and her dark hybrid companion stepped just inside the gate to the park and looked around, seeing that there were already a few people there, mainly from the city gardening shops that were hired to clean up the park. Swiftica already felt tense, there were more people than she thought there would be. 

“Swiftica?” The familiar, smooth, soothing voice said. “Do you need to sit down?”

She looked up at her companion and gave a slight smile. “No, I’m alright for now.”

“Very well. We shall keep our distance and allow them space to work.” 

Nodding, Swiftica led Shadow in the opposite direction from the working mobians.

After walking through a few blocks and having to take a few long routes to avoid big groups of people, Grima and Infinite eventually arrived too the park that was suggested to them and Grima sighed in relief followed by infinite wrapping his tail around Grima. Infinite took a quick scan seeing that not many people were around so Grima wouldn’t need to worry about strangers or hopefully bumping into anyone and dropping his stuff.

Infinite:You feeling alright Grima? We can take a seat if you want, we had to take a pretty big route to get over here.

Grima:No it’s fine Infinite but thank you though, it was with it getting over here, and it was a nice little pre walk anyway, let’s go.

Grima gave Infinite a gentle smile seeing infinite wrapped his tail around him he gave infinite a quick side hug.

Infinite:Alright then Grima, let’s go.

The two giving each other a side hug proceed into the park hoping to enjoy a peaceful walk for the time being, Grima was looking through his notes for ideas in some projects he’s working on focusing a little bit more on that then where he’s going, so Infinite’s trying to keep Grima steady and going the same direction he’s going, until they get close too some other people without noticing.

Though she was usually more conscious of her surroundings, today Swiftica was quite distracted by the nature that was starting to grow in the park. The grass was already starting to become more green, the trees were starting to bud and the sky held few clouds, showing off its beautiful blue hue. She was so distracted that she didn’t notice that they were walking in the direction of a more crowded area of the park.

When she finally noticed, it was too late. They were surrounded by other mobians, the close proximity made her even more tense and when one person came to close, she jumped away and accidentally bumped into Grima. During this, Shadow has tried to grab her hand but was just a little too slow and only managed to grab a hold of her hand after she had bumped into the wolf-jackal. 

He helped her regain her balance before she quickly turned her attention to Grima.

“Ah… Oh geez… I-I-I’m sorry.” She stuttered. Her tail curled between her feet. Shadow saw this, and carefully wrapped his arms around her, purring softly to sooth her.

Grima was feeling a bit tense once a few more people started to be closer to them but infinite helped Grima relax and pay no mind, Infinite’s tail helped Grima feel like he had his own personal bubble of safety it was pleasant for him overall.

Though unfortunately while infinite was looking away from Grima making sure no one got to close someone bumped into Grima causing him to fall down and drop some of his books, Infinite used his tail to make sure the fall wasn’t as bad as it would have been and knelt down to Grima to wrap his arms and tail around him and also began to purr to calm Grima down who was breathing a bit faster then normal but began to take deep breaths, and slowly began to gather his books that fell.

Grima slowly looked up at Swiftica and puts a small smile. “I-it’s Ok…you didn’t know.” Infinite then looked up at Swiftica and shadow and was about to say something but his eyes were wide open seeing it was shadow who was there.

Once she was calmer, and once a few more people walked away, she looked and Shadow to signify that she was feeling well enough for him to release her, getting an instant response as the hybrid dropped his arms and stepped up beside her. Swiftica shyly knelt down and helped Grima gather his things. 

“Uhm… Here, let me help you.” She said. 

Shadow noticed Infinite, glancing at him for a second before turning his attention outward, making sure that the people in the park didn’t get too close.

Once Grima’s stuff was picked up, Swiftica held what she gathered up and offered them back to him. “H-here you go. S-sorry again. I-I was s-startled by the crowd and kinda panicked…” He said, looking off to the side, avoiding eye contact.

Grima was a bit surprised she offered to help making his smile more genuine then polite. “Oh, thank you miss.. I appreciate your kindness.” He said as he began to pick up his stuff and put it neatly away in his bag. He patted Infinite with his tail so he could let him go and Infinite does so with his arms only.

When he got eye contact with shadow he shook his head quickly like he had something in his face and looked away at the strangers that are still around and began to help Grima and Swiftica put everything away. Once Grima put what he picked up away he looked at Swiftica smiling nervously as he took his stuff back and put them all away. “Thank you miss, I appreciate the help, m…my names Grima, this is my service animal Infinite he’s an old friend.” Infinite waves a little to them “Heya.”

Swiftica shyly stood up and gave a nervous smile in return. “M-my name’s Swiftica, this is my service animal, Shadow. He’s sorta like my adopted older brother.” She said, waving back at Infinite. Shadow looked at Grima and gave a silent nod. 

“Um…” Fearing the dreaded ‘awkward silence’, Swiftica fished around for something to talk about. “Uh…Wh-what are you writing? That’s a lot of paper and books. A-are you and author or something?” She asked quietly.

Hearing the feline make idle conversation, slightly surprised Shadow. He hadn’t seen her do this with someone that she just met, especially given what just happened that made them meet in the first place. Feeling proud of her, the hybrid turned his body so he was facing forward, less concerned about the people around them now, though still keeping an ear out for footsteps.

Grima smiles a bit more as a result and infinite keeping close attention to his breathing and even heartbeat smiles from them both calming down. “It’s nice to meet you both...Swiftica, Shadow..” Grima nods back to shadow which did leave some surprise on Infinite’s face.

Grima’s ears flickered when Swiftica asked about his books and papers, he was never asked about that besides from infinite, he takes a slight deep breath before he talks about it. “Oh. Umm...sort of, I’m more of a freelance writer, along with other stuff...I’m helping a small development team with some video games and the like...I even help with the voice acting too...” Infinite puts an arm around Grima worried if he’s a bit scared or tensed but felt Grima was rather relaxed.

Infinite kept his arm around Grima but did what shadow did and simply listened if anyone got to close.

The two giving each other a side hug proceed into the park hoping to enjoy a peaceful walk for the time being, Grima was looking through his notes for ideas in some projects he’s working on focusing a little bit more on that then where he’s going, so Infinite’s trying to keep Grima steady and going the same direction he’s going, until they get close too some other people without noticing.

Though she was usually more conscious of her surroundings, today Swiftica was quite distracted by the nature that was starting to grow in the park. The grass was already starting to become more green, the trees were starting to bud and the sky held few clouds, showing off its beautiful blue hue. She was so distracted that she didn’t notice that they were walking in the direction of a more crowded area of the park.

When she finally noticed, it was too late. They were surrounded by other mobians, the close proximity made her even more tense and when one person came to close, she jumped away and accidentally bumped into Grima. During this, Shadow has tried to grab her hand but was just a little too slow and only managed to grab a hold of her hand after she had bumped into the wolf-jackal. 

He helped her regain her balance before she quickly turned her attention to Grima.

“Ah… Oh geez… I-I-I’m sorry.” She stuttered. Her tail curled between her feet. Shadow saw this, and carefully wrapped his arms around her, purring softly to sooth her.

Grima was feeling a bit tense once a few more people started to be closer to them but infinite helped Grima relax and pay no mind, Infinite’s tail helped Grima feel like he had his own personal bubble of safety it was pleasant for him overall.

Though unfortunately while infinite was looking away from Grima making sure no one got to close someone bumped into Grima causing him to fall down and drop some of his books, Infinite used his tail to make sure the fall wasn’t as bad as it would have been and knelt down to Grima to wrap his arms and tail around him and also began to purr to calm Grima down who was breathing a bit faster then normal but began to take deep breaths, and slowly began to gather his books that fell.

Grima slowly looked up at Swiftica and puts a small smile. “I-it’s Ok…you didn’t know.” Infinite then looked up at Swiftica and shadow and was about to say something but his eyes were wide open seeing it was shadow who was there.

Once she was calmer, and once a few more people walked away, she looked and Shadow to signify that she was feeling well enough for him to release her, getting an instant response as the hybrid dropped his arms and stepped up beside her. Swiftica shyly knelt down and helped Grima gather his things. 

“Uhm… Here, let me help you.” She said. 

Shadow noticed Infinite, glancing at him for a second before turning his attention outward, making sure that the people in the park didn’t get too close.

Once Grima’s stuff was picked up, Swiftica held what she gathered up and offered them back to him. “H-here you go. S-sorry again. I-I was s-startled by the crowd and kinda panicked…” He said, looking off to the side, avoiding eye contact.

Grima was a bit surprised she offered to help making his smile more genuine then polite. “Oh, thank you miss.. I appreciate your kindness.” He said as he began to pick up his stuff and put it neatly away in his bag. He patted Infinite with his tail so he could let him go and Infinite does so with his arms only.

When he got eye contact with shadow he shook his head quickly like he had something in his face and looked away at the strangers that are still around and began to help Grima and Swiftica put everything away. Once Grima put what he picked up away he looked at Swiftica smiling nervously as he took his stuff back and put them all away. “Thank you miss, I appreciate the help, m...my names Grima, this is my service animal Infinite he’s an old friend.” Infinite waves a little to them “Heya.”
