Massive Attack & Hope Sandoval - The Spoils. Probably my most listened to song last year and yet I didn’t discover it until pretty late. I listened to it religiously while dealing with some disheartening stuff then and it really is such a good song for letting you feel whatever you need to feel. It’s like bittersweetness in a bottle, truly addictive.

Been listening to this for months at this point. It has such a good atmosphere, the echoes really flow together without stepping on each other and becoming too distorted. The beat manages to sound almost woody whilst still remaining very polished and the vocals are just beautiful but also gritty in how haunting they sound. I especially love whatever that synthy old piano sounding thing is that comes around 3:09 (can you tell I don’t know shit about instruments?).

I feel a bit shitty for missing Suede in Sweden. All the rescheduling made me confused and I thought they would be coming here in October 2022… Anyway I hope people had a good time. I’ve got all notifications on for Nine Inch Nails though with them touring the US, I’m hoping for some kinda surprise mini Europe tour but I know that’s very unlikely.
