Mmmmmm this one is tough, a lot of my favorite video games get a lot of love. I suppose Morrowind counts, but only if you're counting reviews from people with no experience in OLD AS DIRT rpgs. There's a LOT of reading and things will be confusing if you're used to only modern games, but have the wiki open when needed and you'll be alright. It's worth it.

Less night sky and more space level, but it's GOTTA be the fourth set of levels in Super Paper Mario. They're fun. And nostalgic. At least, I think those are the space levels? Idk, I last played that game in 2008. One of my favorite games of all time though. The glasses I wear thinking on it? Rose tinted.

In Skyrim, there are like. 2, maybe 3 logs in the whole map where you can find a trail of ants, one of which is fairly close to a unique woodcutter's axe. The first time I found those ants? I was on my old Xbox 360 and I must have watched that texture scroll for at least ten minutes. The world felt so large and alive at that moment, despite everything.

Oh boy. Gotta confess to something really weird here, huh? Okay. I have never, not once, played any sims game without codes or at the very least, exploits.
Accidentally deleted a paragraph at the beginning here. One I wrote in rage. But, I think I stand by it. Boils down to, "I hate my surprise housemate," and, "I absolutely ruined all of my in-person relationships I've ever cherished this last year." Yeah. That's. The easiest way to put it. My siblings hate me, my former friend hates me, the list goes on endlessly. And I haven't really been on here or even discord much at all because I am running from my problems. Those problems being that I ruin everything I touch.
I suppose I'll put some context down for anyone who's morbidly curious on a biased retelling of things that don't matter to them. It's a long one, and all of it's personal.
So. My best friend moved in with me from out of state because major shit that's no one's business went down with his folks. And we have a lovely set of months hanging out and peacefully sharing a room, like we made things work really well. Turns out cohabitation is easy if you enjoy spending time with people, who knew? But then he starts talking to this girl online, which is great and I'm happy that he's moving on from his last girlfriend, who was an abusive piece of shit.
Well, my buddy gets to talkin with her and suddenly she's in our room for a night, which was fine? Aaaaand then suddenly she moves into our room full time without warning anyone. Like, none of us expected her to just. Decide to up and live here? Just. Kinda happened like boiling a frog. But we were fine with it because it was better than having her live in her car.
So she's living in our room. With her dog. And I just have to accept that they take up the entire room, right? They're guests and it's only courteous. So the only part of what was originally my own room that is my space? My bed. I lost all of my storage space, walking room, etc. For MONTHS. The frustration I had? There are no words. What finally broke the camel's back on this whole arrangement?
My sleep deprivation.
She hates cold rooms, so wouldn't allow anyone else to mess with the AC at night. In the middle of summer. Strike one to my sleep. Strike two? The room was never allowed to be dark. I had sheets hanging from the ceiling to get any semblance of darkness and privacy. Strike three? They both fell asleep to movies and shows being as loud as possible.
When it was just my friend and I, he'd have his volume just low enough to where I could wear headphones and not hear it. It worked for us.
Anyway. I took all of this in stride until the boiling point. I asked for one night to fix my sleep schedule before a job interview. One night. And they couldn't even do that. The excuse? The dog can't handle the cold, and the lights aren't on long enough for it to matter. Bullshit. Bullshit. She let that dog be in my normal temps all the time before she made herself at home. If it were really a problem, she'd have brought it up then.
This was dramatic enough that they spent the whole night loudly packing and leaving my room a train wreck. They moved into the garage after taking the couch for a few months. Which. My bad. But I dealt with her attitude and my sensory overload everyday for multiple months. At that point I'm okay with self-inflicted garage dwelling.
The whole house thinks I'm the problem. I am, but honestly? I think I'm too selfish to see it. Like. I invited ONE person to live with me. I didn't sign up for a tiny room with two extra people and a dog. And this is entirely leaving out conversations. Many. Many conversations and arguments and so much drama.
I guess I'm also skirting around the whole. She makes my friend pay her portion of the rent, and she did even when she had a job. And asks him to do EVERYTHING for her, she can't go ten minutes without calling for him. Just. Rubs me the wrong way, even now. Putting that out there because I sound crazy when I think it to myself.
So. Events happen, arguments happen, and suddenly my friend sits me down to tell me that we are no longer friends. This happens three times in total over the course of about six months. Because I hurt his girlfriend's feelings by kicking them out of the room, some various personal failings of mine, and my sheer laziness + apathy. Which is fair. If you know me in person, you know this to be fair.
Am I a problem? Yes. Am I terrible to live with? Yes. Am I an asshole? You bet! Am I the only one here that made the drama happen? HELL NO. I bent over backwards to make these fuckers happy and I will NOT BE CONTINUING TO DO SO. I refuse to let her talk to me as condescendingly as she does. She! Can! Fuck! Off! I let her order me around FOR MONTHS! I did everything she asked of me FOR MONTHS. She can! Fuck off! And leave me alone for a while!
Also, yes, if you're asking if I am definitely the "bad guy," here, the answer is yes. I am not a good person. Sorry for fooling anyone into thinking I might be. I am. Not. Not in the slightest.
Ao3 I miss you. I miss the tag system. I miss the incredible amount of variety. I miss the thousands of fandoms. FFN is worse in every way and I am STRUGGLING to find something I'd enjoy reading on there. The well is dry.
I think dropout.tv should have a feature in the volume settings called "turn the subtitles up" where from 1 to 100 you can adjust the size of the font until it covers the screen entirely. For fun.
my dad (Maori) works on a ship with all Maori/Tongan/Samoan fisherman- and one Aussie guy called Jake.
And that wasn't done on purpose just sort of how it ended up, but Jake recently got an injury so they put him on a Different boat just for a little bit (a sit in the wheelhouse and scout type of boat, instead of the main fishing one) and he only got back to my dad's ship today and he was apparently like Shaking. He was Traumatised.
Dad said Jake kept pulling him aside and going "They were all yelling on there, but in a MEAN way" "They didn't clean... Like at ALL"
Jake experienced what a boat full of old school Aussie fisherman is like. That is the norm Jake. You just happened to be on the all Island boy boat on your first go out. "It was time for dinner and they had FROZEN nuggets" Jake that's what they have on ships that are out at sea for months at a time.
On my dad's boat they are eating fresh fish and coconut milk Ceviche. They're grilling steaks on an open bbq on the deck that probably is not regulation. All the guys have their own special knives to prepare sashimi every couple days. Everyone is happily doing their own work so they can clock out early and set up a movie on the deck. Jake did you genuinely believe that's what every boat was doing.
