There's a GoFundMe for three Louisiana churches recently gutted by fire.
Here’s the donation link!
And it is my understanding this occurred when he and the boys lived in Florida and one of these boys was developmentally disabled. To take advantage of this … despicable.
Just so everyone knows, Joe Biden isn’t good, not even close. He’s a politician who has sold us out for decades, he started his career using racist tropes about “forced busing.” Again he used racism to help spearfront the Clinton crime bill which helped further Reagan era mass incarceration. He helped craft the bankruptcy legislation that prevents students from discharging student loan debt, and has always backed pro-corporate reform given he is a senator from Delaware. The list goes on.
He’s not your friend, he’s not a cute old meme man. He’s a politician, a particularly bad one, who doesn’t deserve your support without seriously owning up to his problematic past and doing something about it. Which he won’t do.

Healthcare for all is underwhelming?! I mean no matter what other issue you might a person might choose to take Obama to task for he pushed and got passed something most developed countries with decency view as a right. You don't have to like the man but saying the bar was low because of the other two pus filled human boils is low balling the man a great deal. I dont want this published, but that rubbed me the wrong way a bit
That crippled ass version of Healthcare they passed? Lmao
Obama was too soft. He halfway didn’t want to speak up for black people all the time. I don’t dislike him and I voted for him. But I’m not going to pretend like I was completely satisfied with him either.
Obamacare wasn’t “healthcare for all” it was a half ass attempt at using market-friendly solutions to deal with a situation where the market itself is the problem. If we wanted to catch up with other developed nations, we would eliminate private insurance and create a nationalized, free at the point of service healthcare system. Also, Obama’s foreign policy was perfectly inline with any other president over the last 40 years or so.
Seriously. I voted for Obama, however he did more than Bush did to take away 4th amendment rights. Even when the Patriot Act was about to expire, he had it renewed. Don’t even get me started on the number of drone strikes that went down in his administration. Obama did some cool shit, but he overall wasn’t even that progressive.
My friends when they think they’ve finally gotten me to start to opening up:
also re: teens sitting around with their tablets and smartphones
like, if a kid can access the internet (with some privacy still) while also sitting in the same room as their parents, honestly that’s better and more social than what I did as a teenager, which was hole up in my room at my desktop computer that I couldn’t move anywhere else in the house
mostly what I see from the teens in my family is they will sit and scroll through their phone, but if something interesting starts happening, or a new person enters the room, or they see something cool they want to share, they look up and interact again, because they’re sitting right there with everyone else.
that is waaaay more social than 2002 me, hunched over my desktop for hours and only seeing my mom in passing when I went to microwave a burrito at 1am. way, way more social.
My whole family does this now. We’re all in the same room, but each on a phone, tablet, or laptop. Certain poop heads will shake their heads at how technology is dividing us.
But

What do they think families have done for since ever? Talk constantly while playing educational board games every evening? No.
They’d each be reading, or sewing, or writing letters or some shit, and mostly sat quietly near each other but not bothering each other.
yes this
It reminds me of the whole “omg people on trains used to TALK to each other” argument. No, they didn’t. They read the newspaper or stared straight ahead avoiding eye contact.
People have been finding reasons not to talk to each other for centuries.
