other drivers: it was unfortunate but these things happen on track, just a racing incident.
oscar piastri: when stupidity is great enough it becomes malice. not only is carlos an idiot and a criminal and a life ruiner but he's annoying. everyone thinks so. we've talked about it.

Oscar doesn’t usually think too hard about the why.
Why he does it. Why he keeps doing it. Why it feels a little less like a game every time he sets the tripod up.
It started as a joke—something Lando dared him into one night, both of them tipsy and tangled on the floor, half a packet of crisps between them.
“You’d make bank,” Lando had said, eyes sharp and lazy at the same time, phone dangling between his fingers. “ Seriously. That ass? You’d break the internet.”
It’s not like he needs the money. The engineering scholarship covers everything important. But there’s something about it—the control, maybe. Or the attention. Or the way it lets him slip into someone else for a while.
Someone sweet. Someone who gets to be wanted.
He doesn’t have to say who he really is. Doesn’t have to be the closed-off, hard-to-read version of himself he brings to the rest of the world. Here, he can just exist. Bare and soft and aching.
That’s what it is, really. It’s the attention. The choice. The silence.

i will do a blood sacrifice for alpha!lestappen and omega!oscar. please. anything. just a crumb of this fic will be enough to sustain me for years.
Had an awful week but I finally started writing it so here's a little snippet, albeit more of a set-up snippet without much actual Lestapiastri. Hope this crumb sustains you until I can write the whole thing :P (which hopefully will not take years haha)
"Osc, your uh-" Lando leans in to whisper in his ear, "Your blockers are wearing off a bit."
Oh. That's a bit of an issue.
He doesn't want the whole paddock to know he's in pre-heat, or the extent of his displeasure with the race.
"As long as I re-apply before the presser, I'll be fine. Nobody can smell me on the podium." Oscar tries to inject some steadiness into his voice.
It is at this moment that Max walks past them, having finished his interview. His tire smoke and cinnamon scent wraps around Oscar like a warm duvet, and he instinctively leans toward Max. Really, he would like nothing more than to hide away from the world with Max and Charles, away from the newspapers and the team orders, safe between his alpha's scents of cinnamon and and salted caramel. He has to actively lean towards Lando in order to resist the urge to follow Max.
He shouldn't be this attached, the rational part of his brain thinks. It's only been three months since that disaster of a race at Silverstone for all three of them had ended with Charles and Max tucked around him in Max's Milton Keynes apartment. Well, Max and Charles' Milton Keynes apartment. Sometimes he wonders if he is an unwelcome intrusion in their relationship. Still, he suppresses a whine as Max moves past him to collect a cool towel from his P1 stand, and his nails press crescent moons into his palms.
“Mate. Oscar.” Max lowers his voice, even though they’re alone, and no one that matters could hear. “Babe. C’mon. What?”
“Nothing, it’s just...” Oscar shuts one eye, squeezing it like he’s just sucked a particularly sour slice of lemon, zinging right up his nose. “I did that once. In, er, well, when we were here last.”
Max blinks, trying to riddle that one through in his brain a bit. The last time they were here on the balcony, like last night, or the last time they were here, in the Canary Islands, back when Max was fucking around with someone else on their team and Oscar had a huge fucking crush on him.
“Fucking hell, Oscar. What the fuck?”
max fewtrell/oscar piastri | 8.6k | explicit | here on ao3 | sequel to brittle it shakes
Directors commentary on your Max/Oscar fics!! How does it go from the tentative confession in so brittle it shakes to full on work/holiday sex where people clearly know about them?
This is a really interesting one - I feel like I have thought for so long and done so much chatfic about the brittle it shakes versions of Oscar and Max, that I sort of forget everyone hasn’t done that with me. (@goingxmissing and I spent a whole holiday road trip concocting a version of our holiday that they were taking because that’s SUPER normal.)
First up, a bit of lore about the sequel I meant to include in the author’s notes is that the entire reason I wrote it was because I went feral over these pictures of Oscar in Australia, and mused out loud about how good it would be if he got fucked over something in that position like, say, a balcony...
Second - the original plan for a sequel to brittle was a 5+1 style Lando POV fic, where he repeatedly missed the signs that Oscar and Max were together until the one time he didn’t. These were going to be:
1) Max inviting Oscar to his Lando organised fake birthday meal in Monaco
2) Lando noticing Oscar wearing a piece of prototype Quadrant merch that never made it out of the design stage
3) Max’s Mum asking Lando if Oscar is with him when she answers the door (like, no? Obviously? Weird question)
4) Noticing the rainbow koala keychain and being like haha, did you know Oscar is gay?
5) Max arriving early to a race week (he’s there for Quadrant stuff) to spend time with Oscar and not telling Lando he’s doing it
+1) Catching them having a snog in Oscar’s driver’s room
I think that sort of half sets up the timeline. They spend summer break tentatively having little rendezvous outside of their houses, ramping up to sleeping over and Max sort of has to tell his Mum because she keeps doing Oscar’s washing and looking all earnest about how nice it is he’s got a new friend. Mark finds out because him and Oscar have an agreement that once he’s serious about someone, Mark needs to know as his manager. Lando catches them at it (probably around Singapore/Japan... couple of months in you know how it is) and Oscar was always going to tell Kim. Probably doesn’t get much further than that early doors. Everyone at the team knows Oscar is gay though, so it’s likely that it’s less of a secret than they think.
Max accidentally soft launches Oscar a bit just after they move in together by taking a photo that has a pile of Oscar’s stuff in it and putting it on his stories. His new streaming room has two Renault helmets next to each other on the top shelf. Some eagle eyed fans have noticed that Max has been on Oscar’s side of the garage a few times, and maybe there’s a leak that he’s on Oscar’s guest list, not Lando’s. Little stuff that has tumblr accounts going wild searching for more clues, like managing to figure out from the time he posted that Max was more than likely in Australia for Christmas.
Then they go to Australia for the race, and Oscar decides to answer in an interview something very innocuous like “oh, yeah, I’ve been here a week now, spending time with my family and my boyfriend’. The most him official coming out ever, completely chill, no fanfare, it’s just out there. Except Max has said on stream he’s been in Australia for a week doing Quadrant bits and everyone is putting 2 + 2 together and getting EXACTLY the right answer.
Gets easier once it’s out there. Oscar mooches in the background of Max’s streams, and Chat goes wild every time he brings him a tea, or some food. Max gets to do the proper WAG thing and it’s excruciating but he still loves it, wearing OP merch or HP Tuners or Quadlock because wearing a McLaren top with Piastri across the back feels too presumptuous.
For now.
GODDDD I’m going to have to stop because I’ve basically planned their wedding and future kids by this point, after girl!Lando and Oscar they are easily the pairing where I have the most personal lore for them. Anyway thanks to the 4.5 people who care about this universe, you are heroes.
Hi!! Do you have any recommendations for any Lando/Max F stories?
I’m in a slump and I always love reading about them.
I truly think I’ve read everything though so I’m just hoping you might share your favourites or any new recent ones you’ve read and loved?
Have a great day! ♥️
ahhh yeah that's the problem with a smaller ship, you really can have read everything! i've got my hundred-ish favorites on this rec list from the end of last year, but i guess that's old stuff you've been through before, so in terms of new things, Bad at Words is really sweet, rank impulsivity is nortrell-typical freak behavior. then did you read everything from the nortrell winter break collection? there were some great ones that came out of that fest, it's really hard to pick among them. i guess good game and The Devil Steals Swarovski live in my head rent free, ten month summer is the beginning of a wip but it's a really strong opener, but i just need to stress that all 18(!!) fics in the fest were wonderful, and you should read all the ones that have tags you feel comfortable with!!

“Are you sniffing my clothes, mate?” Lando’s voice violently rips Oscar back to reality.
Oscar drops the hoodie like it’s turned into a venomous snake, recoiling in shock. Lando’s standing in the doorway, motionless, one hand still on the doorknob. Oscar can’t quite read the expression on his face, but he doesn’t need to in order to hear the incredulity ringing out in Lando’s voice.
“Um,” Oscar stammers, panic setting in. This looks so bad.
Alternatively:
Oscar's been obsessed with Lando since he was 14. Now they’re teammates at McLaren, and he's struggling to keep it together. Lando's not a better man.

It's only when they're both in front of the toilet, unzipping their pants and taking their cocks out to do the deed, that it finally dawns on Lando what a stupid idea it was.
Oscar starts pissing, and Lando just stands there, watching him like a pervert with his chubbed up cock in hand. Not a single drop comes out of it, he doesn't really have to go, and soon Oscar's going to notice and realise he's a freak.
Oscar looks at him from the corner of his eye, and Lando cowers under the weight of his gaze, feels his own face and the back of his neck burn with shame before Oscar can even get a word in.
"You're ridiculous, you know that, right?"
ooh 37 or 47 for the geoscar prompts? would love to see your take on them!!
37. secret relationship + 47. sickfic/caretaking
Oscar doesn’t realize how bad it’s truly gotten until he’s standing up in his car, proudly parked in the P1 spot, and suddenly gets hit with a raging headache and a weekends worth of pure exhaustion.
He’s been feeling off all weekend, but there hasn’t been a single moment where he’s allowed himself to give into it. He can’t. There’s a championship still up for grabs and every point counts. So he drove through the headaches and the heavy feeling and the stuffed nose. Put his head down and focused on the race, taking it one corner at the time, the laps slowly ticking away before he crossed the finish line.
And he did it. He won.
But now his exhaustion is catching up to him, the heavy feeling and the headache and the exertion all slamming back into him all at once, and he doesn’t realize he’s losing consciousness until he’s tipping sideways out of the car with no way to catch himself.
When he blinks his eyes open again, there’s a warm pair of arms wrapped around him, and there’s two large worried blue eyes looking down on him. “George,” he mumbles. His mouth feels like cotton, and his head feels like it’s going to split in two, but George’s arms feel like home, and he melts into the touch.
“Fucking hell, mate,” George says, carefully putting Oscar down and rightening him on two feet, though he doesn’t let go, hands warm and grounding on Oscar’s shoulder. “Are you okay?”
Oscar hums, lets his head tip forward onto George’s shoulder. George smells like sweat and rubber and home and Oscar wonders for a moment if he can just stay here forever.
But then there’s an hand on his cheek, tilting his head back up. “Oscar, love, look at me.” It’s a testament of how worried he must be, how much Oscar’s scared him, that George lets the love slip with all these camera’s around, all these microphones.
Oscar looks up, right into bright blue worried eyes. “’m okay,” he says, though his legs still feel like jelly and his headache has gotten more insistent. It’s not a lie, though. George is here. It’ll be okay.
“Fuck, okay, let’s get you to medical, yeah? Just in case.”
And it’s going to be a shit show, tomorrow, when all the videos and photos of this moment spread across the internet. George, pushing a photographer aside just to catch Oscar at the last moment. The hand on Oscar’s cheek, the concerned look. The way George refuses to let anyone else bring Oscar to medical. They’ll have a lot of explaining to do.
But right now, George is a warm, calming presence by his side, and there’s nowhere Oscar would rather be, would feel more safe, than right here in George’s arms.
