Those of us in the UK, who watched Brexit happen earlier this year and who voted to Remain in the EU: we get it. We totally understand your fear. We understand your disappointment, and we understand the confusion you must be feeling right now. Among other things.

Here’s my advice: take the time to be angry. To be fearful. Take the time to be all those things and embrace the things you feel. Then, take a breath, steel yourself and strive to be all the things Trump doesn’t want you to be.

Be strong. Be resilient. Be steadfast in your resolve and sense of self.

If you see Trump supporters bullying or attacking anyone, step in and tell them no. Stand up for the people who will be most effected by this outcome.

The more you stick together the stronger you are.

So allow yourself the time to be furious. Cry and scream and rage. You should. I did when Brexit happened. But then, breathe. There’s tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, and you’re needed there. Now more than ever.

This is so incredibly immature and possessive. I can’t stand this whole “I want to hurt/I hate anyone who looks at, has ever looked at, paid attention to, touched, or talked to my partner” attitude that so many people have nowadays. YOU DON’T OWN YOUR PARTNER! Almost every single person you date is going to have exes. And they dated your partner for the same reason you’re dating them. You partner is not “tainted” by anyone else who has ever touched them and there’s no reason to hate someone for the fact they felt the same way you do now. The only reason you should hate an ex/past sexual partner is if they hurt them. Grow up and get over it. Stressing over petty stuff like this is only going to hurt your relationship. I PROMISE you. And if you can’t trust your partner not to sleep with anyone who gives them attention, then maybe you should question why you’re with them. Believe it or not, there are people in this world who are able to have non-romantic, non-sexual relationships with the gender(s) that they’re attracted to.

Two athletes have provided one of the most inspirational moments of the Rio Olympics so far when they tripped over each other in the women’s 5,000 metres - then helped one another to carry on.

American Abbey D'Agnostino and Nikki Hamblin of New Zealand were 3,000m into the race today when D'Agnostino appeared to clip Hamblin’s heel, sending both tumbling to the ground.

But instead of appearing frustrated that their dreams of glory were apparently over, both women put on a display of the Olympic spirit that will live on long after the Games are over.

D'Agnostino, 24, immediately got up to help her rival - then, as it became clear that she had a right ankle injury, Hamblin tried to help her continue.

Both athletes attempted to start chasing after the pack that had left them. But D'Agostino could not keep going as her knee had apparently twisted awkwardly in the fall.

She told Hamblin to go on as she collapsed on to all fours on the track. But the camera then came back to D'Agostino and she was back on her feet and running again.

Hamblin said: ‘When I went down, I was like “Whats happening, why am I on the ground?” And suddenly there’s this hand on my shoulder like “Get up, get up, we have to finish this.”

‘I’m so grateful for Abbey for doing that for me. I mean, that girl is the Olympic spirit right there.

‘I’m so impressed and inspiring that she did that. I’ve never met her before. Like, I’ve never met this girl before. And isn’t that just so amazing?’

Both Hamblin and D'Agostino were subsequently promoted to the 5000m final on Friday. [x]
