I was just reading Alan Walker's Liszt biography and was like hmm well Andersen was kinda friends with him. I wonder what his letters say.

We both heard Thalberg yesterday and I have to admire his masterful playing, but I was still cold about it, I don't find him as interesting as Liszt , but he is handsomer and looks so much like Baron Rosenkrans who came to the Student Association.

Unexpected Thalberg moment. I know descriptions about people's appearance are pretty common during this time but it feels like Andersen is just extra about it lol.

As far as I know, he didn’t really write about Liszt having a great face (just his overall effect). Who knows, maybe Thalberg is more his type 😌❓️

I like thorvaldsen because he looks exactly like this former hippie bus driver I know, and they probably aren't that different personality wise 😌

Okay I don't know how I haven't found this before now, but there's actually a website that comprehensively compiles all of andersens work from his plays to his novels??? And annotations to explain who everyone is and for out of date language 😭 i could seriously cry from joy‼️‼️

Anyways I was wrong in my last analysis because I haven't been able to get a readable version of Agnete and the Merman (basically tried to screen translate the scanned fraktur text and failed miserably), Hemming is in fact not the merman, oops. He's just Some Guy on land, which makes more sense as a self insert but is also pretty sad.

I am pretty sure he's written these lines in letters multiple times lol. He's so silly.

Exploration for those domesticated creature fanfics 😭

I do think Adam would have to cut his hair off realistically to blend in (wasn’t able to find many photos of long haired men in 1860s) but I get that long hair is important for his design…I’m compromising with hair that reaches below the ears since it seemed like a popular hairstyle for young men.

Lowkey reading andersens autobio last has made me realize there's so many more things to know about him. Like I just found out that Kuhlau (the composer) was one of his sponsors in his early Copenhagen days. At this point I'll find any reasonably known danish person in the 19th century and Andersen has probably had connections with them (not exaggerating).
