Queerbaiting is when a movie or show actively and maliciously tries to trick you and convince the audience that there will be queer representation in a peice of media, but in reality has no plans to go through with it and is just doing it in hopes of getting a larger audience from the queer comunity. Queerbaiting does NOT mean "these two characters were clearly written with the intention of being straight, but accidentaly ended up with gay undertones to their relationship"

Bury Your Gays is the trope of when a movie or show will have a queer character that only really exists in the story to die, allowing the writers to claim to be more progressive and including queer characters and profit from the publicity, but in reallity only ever plan on killing them at their earliest convinience. Bury your gays does NOT mean "The magnus archives has a mostly queer cast and at the end of the story just about every single character is dead"

Gay Panic is a legal defence where people claim that the violent crimes they comited to queer people are excused because the other person made some advance towards them and in their panic they ended up attacking them. gay panic is not "when i see a cute guy and get all flustered because im so gay"

A Bear is a large, fat, hairy gay man. (theres variation in the comunity & subgroups but thats the main gist of it). A bear is not "a normal sized vaguely hairy dude". Timothee Chalamet is not a bear. (yes, i have seen somebody say that before.)
