I love that Impulse is a square little brick of a man without a single bone of toxic masculinity in his body. He’s soft and gentle. He loves babies. His voice jumps up several octaves when he sees something cute. He cheerfully talks about how much he likes Moana and K-Pop Demon Hunters. He gets openly emotional about his friends and his daughter’s volleyball performance and watching Metro Mayhem be played as an Ace Race in MCC. He teared up when he learned that a beloved side character died in D&D. He plays a manlier ice sport but quietly admits he might have been happy as a figure skater. He brings his fruit punch and strawberry banana energy drinks to hockey practice in his daughter’s pink unicorn lunch box and gets surprised when she steals the energy drinks because they taste good. It’s sort of a chicken and egg situation whether he’s like this because he’s a girl dad or whether being a girl dad gives him an avenue to embrace these parts of himself that were already there, but either way it’s insanely charming and I hope he never ever stops being so genuinely himself 💛
