so i don’t know if anyone has already done this but i was discussing last encore theories with a friend and ended up translating all the character CMs (which are full of foreshadowing) so here they are

CM 1 (Rider)

"The pirate laughed gracefully. Farewell to arms, and lay the guns to rest. A festival in the calm of the sea immersed in the past, the remains of the Pied Piper's dream. The Sea of Stagnation welcomes visitors." Rider: “A wish, huh... That’s got a real nostalgic sound to it.”

CM 2 (Archer)

"The dead unrevived, the pride unable to be inherited, [his] face gone. The hunter dances on with the ghosts. The ticking of the clock resounds in the stillness. [He] continues to wander the Forest of Regrets" Archer: "Well then, time to start again... no, to finish."

CM 3 (Caster)

"The Garden of Forgetfulness repeats. A scream (fairytale) echoing in thin ink. An examination table, a tea party, and a story left behind." Caster: "I’ve been playing by myself this whole time. Normal people can't find me, you see."

CM 4 (Berserker)

like after UBW i had absolutely 0 hope that ufotable was going to do anything interesting with shinji in HF but it TURNS OUT they went “hey let’s take all that characterization from side materials and FHA and put it at the beginning of the one route where having this knowledge in advance will cause the most pain” possibly just because they hate me personally? god damn. anyway they better make the “sakura makes gratin for shinji” episode of emiya gohan as heartwarming as possible just to put the final nail in my coffin. air it as close to movie 2′s release as possible. kill me in one shot cowards

Yeah, and you can also get tired of criticizing something you love. You can get completely fed up with it and decide, “You know what? Flaws aside, I love this thing, and I don’t have to waste hours of my life admitting its flaws to strangers on the Internet in order to somehow justify my love of it.” You can get sick of watching others gleefully tear it apart, for no reason other than that it’s popular and they hate that you love it. You can get sick of watching others tearing it apart with good intentions, too.

In the end, it’s just a cartoon, or a book, or a movie. It’s not that serious, and you can enjoy it without hyper-focusing on its flaws. You don’t need to justify your love of something to someone else, least of all a person you don’t even know.

much of the ableism towards Autistic people doesn’t happen “because we’re Autistic,” it happens because we’re weird.

now consider that… and now consider what some of the most common insults are here on tumblr.

weird, gross, embarrassing, cringeworthy… all insults based on that same idea of “you are different and we don’t like you.” 

and now consider the constant mocking of “just trying to be special” and “Not Like Other Girls™” that is constantly seen on tumblr.

from early childhood, we are taught and conditioned to know that any deviation from the norm will be punished. for Autistic people, who make up a big portion of what is usually thought of as tumblr’s userbase, this conditioning is often increased tenfold by coercive “therapies” such as ABA and Social Thinking. 

the fact that so much of tumblr’s culture is based on strict deviation from the norm– often citing “weird, embarrassing, cringeworthy, just trying to be special” as offenses– is regressive. and as an Autistic person, I would go so far as to say that it is at least somewhat rooted in ableism. 

if you’re Autistic and you do this, especially if you’re a survivor of coercive behavioral and social treatments designed to make you “normal,” please think about why you take part in this treatment of others. I know you’ve been hurt, and overcoming internalized ableism is hard. I’m here to help.

god i was really apprehensive about the hf movies to the point i was ready to just skip them, but apparently from what people who have seen the first one are saying, it handled shinji REALLY well and got his feelings towards shirou across even better than the VN in some ways and now i... really want to fucking see that movie. sakura who

even if it ends up playing in canadian theatres eventually it probably wont play in my city though Ha Ha Ha Guess I’ll Wait For Blurays This Is Fine

i finished the first 5 volumes of the case files of lord el-melloi ii and like half of volume 6 (which im not in a huge rush to finish because part 2 of that case isnt out until winter comiket i believe) and its pretty good imo. it kinda bridges the gap between zero and fsn while fleshing out the clock tower and magi in general, i feel like it’s more focused on worldbuilding than any other TM thing. volume 2 in particular is almost entirely focused on clock tower politics which was neat actually

i feel like the biggest flaw is that since it’s meant to be a canon prequel to fsn, sanda makoto is clearly walking on eggshells around The Lore all the time and trying not to contradict anything and to clarify everything. so theres a part where someone tells waver “if you summon your servant again HE WON’T REMEMBER YOU!!!!!! *unless it’s in [the moon cell] or [a FGO singularity]” which kinda ruins the drama of that moment… or when zepia in vol 6 shows up and starts expositing about alternate timelines and how the DAAs dont exist in this one and it’s clearly for the benefit of the reader but waver and reines are like ??????????? and nothing he’s saying feels really relevant to their situation… i feel like having the character exposit past the other characters directly to the reader is a thing that happens maybe too much now in fate and it throws me out of the story every time (BB going “ok im gonna call you senpai but just so you know my real senpai is in another universe but that universe doesnt exist and i never met them” right off the bat in the CCC fgo collab so people wouldn’t complain lol)

i loved how at first "hephaestion" seemed like the dumbest concept (like so dumb i actually went ahead and spoiled myself even though i was otherwise avoiding spoilers, cause i was like COME ON) but then it turned out that not only was that a fakeout that we immediately fell for because we're so used to genderswaps by now, she ALSO came with an explanation for why iskander's design was historically inaccurate in the first place lol. Also She Is Hot

also im not really... feeling dr heartless as a character. when i got to that part it was like "the culprit is... this random guy? oh he's going to be the main antagonist from now on? and he has a name like a care bears villain? well ok" this anticlimax. it answered my question of "when is caules going to justify his presence here" though i guess
