Constantly fluctuating between ‘Merlin should return to Camelot and be reinstated as an official advisor to Guinevere and for the first time be given a position where his efforts and role in shaping Camelot is recognised and acknowledged rather than working from the shadows and pushing down the simmering bitterness from it’ and ‘Merlin returns as if nothing changed and takes on his old duties but this time under the guise of being Guinevere’s new maid and everyone knows it’s him but just doesn’t say anything’
