Ok @worthyprnce got me thinking about Merlin characters as Greek gods and goddesses children with their beautiful Merwaine myth art (this is like barely related but go check out their art bc its cool af) so here is my takes:
Merlin: child of Apollo god of prophecy, healing, and the sun. Takes after his father with his terrible love life and inability to avoid disaster doomed by destiny.
Arthur: child of Ares god of war and courage. Hotheaded and quick to rage but still formidable and fierce. Ready for battle and with the strategy necessary to win but struggling with the wisdom of war.
Gwen: child of Hephaestus god of fire and metalworking. I’m focusing on the blacksmith's daughter, though I do love that Hephaestus is known for gifting crafts to humans while also having a tendency for healing. Feels like it fits.
Morgana: Daughter of Ares and hunter of Artemis god of the hunt, wildness, transitions, and care of children. Similar to Arthur but with the natural elements tangled into her magic. Also, the protection over young woman feels like something Morgana desperately needed, so I want to give her that.
Lancelot: child of Aphrodite goddess of love and beauty. God, everyone wanted to fuck this man. He is love personified. And like look at him, you know?
Gwaine: child of Dionysus god of wine, festivities, and madness. Do I need to say more?
Leon: blessed by Athena goddess of wisdom and warfare. Athena obviously doesn’t have any children as a virgin, but I do think she’d bless Leon with the wisdom necessary to protect Camelot since he loves that city so much.
Elyan: child of Hephaestus, similar to Gwen but with the addition of parelleling Hephaestus finding his way back to home (without the whole Mother casting him from the heaven's thing obviously).
Percival: child of Demeter goddess of the harvest, fertility of the Earth, and birth. Not only is Percival a farmer, but he also is fiercely protective over his family/children similar to Demeter with her daughter Persephone and he’s not afraid to get revenge.
