The Gongchang Incident

Recently, an incident occurred on the Baantharian world of Gongchang in which a powerful psionic entity emerged from the Shroud to attack a major city. Following an investigation, it is believed that this is a direct result of our efforts to increase the prosperity of the Baantharian worlds by increasing the richness of their natural resources. The sudden and swift occurrence of this incident indicates that our vassal's systems have been extremely receptive to these changes, and the efforts to improve their prosperity will continue.

The incident itself was severe, but mitigated thanks to swift interference by the Astral Emperor himself, all praise his righteous and merciful hand. Those who were injured have been put into medical care which will be generously donated by the Imperial Government. Those less fortunate will be honored through memorial and prayer, ensuring their memory will live on and guide those who come after. Those displaced by the incident will be evaluated by Imperial officials for new jobs deemed necessary for disaster recovery efforts and follow-on work.

The incident has highlighted the need for increased integration of psionic training into the population in order to prepare individuals to respond to threats such as this. In particular, the Baantharian people have begun to express an interest in the creation of psionic titans to combat malevolent threats. The Gogan Empire supports this notion and will begin granting resources to the study and creation of such beings.

Guilds stationed on this world reports receiving small amounts of damage both to the infastructure as well as the employees. We are thrilled at the new oppurtunites revealed by this catastrophe, but we have to also remember about those harmed by this disaster.

Changes in Crisis

With Dra-Lo Authority’s continued threats against the Kingdom of Evroncia, the Bavian Provisional Government has decided to enact emergency measures across the entire nation, brining all alloy, mineral and food production under government management. This measure is to tackle the large spike in prices seen across the nation since the crisis began. The Ministry of Defence also announced today that the Fleet of Sonlloch has been deployed to the Kingdom of Evroncia to aid the ongoing crisis. The BIIS has further been instructed redirect its forces in the Kingdom into defending it against a possible attack.

President Jeri also announced today that former President Kuzi will be joining government as the nation’s Defence Minister. She will not be invited into the Reformative Council however and is under the understanding that this appointment is temporary. President Jeri justified this in a statement in the National Assembly, stating: “Now Minister of Defence Kuzi defeated the Dharan Dominion as President with half the recourses we have access to now. She also fended off the Galactic Community in times of crisis. My government does not condone her actions as President but we need a united front against this existential threat to the freedom of our citizens.” Kuzi being appointed to a ministerial position has also calmed the flames on Kuzuvia, the planetary assembly of which threatened to leave the Democratic State.

Presidential Election Result

"Good evening, if you are just joining us here at NNN, we believe that the results of the Presidential Election are going to be released any minute now. We have seen Director Asunzi enter the Assembly with the results alongside Professor Jeri and President Kuzi. "This moment comes an hour after a set of shock announcements by the Plantary Governors of Bavia, Kelconvia and New Sonlloch, announcing what each planet got. Due to regulations set out by the Ministry of Communications we cannot disclose that number. "We are hoping- oh wait we are going to cut to the National Assembly where the Speaker of the Chamber has taken the floor." The camera cuts to the National Assembly, each of its 2000 seats were full with observers. President Kuzi and Jeri stand side-by-side as the Speaker starts. “Honourable members, it is my duty under section 24 of the Constitution of the Democratic State to announce the results of the election. These votes have taken place across six planets for two candidates and go as follows. President Kuzi: 10.286 billion votes. Jeri: 10.288 billion. Majority: 2.3 million. Therefore, it is my honour to announce that Jeri is the new President of the Democratic State." The cameras cut to scenes of celebration across the city of Saerochia and the Planetary Capital of Kelconvia. Jeri goes to the stage, smiling ear to ear, “Mr. Speaker, this is a day that will go down in our history. This has been the first successful election of a Bavian head of state since the civil war, our society as an interstellar state has truly evolved. We are not done however, there is much work to do to ensure this democracy can endure any test it is presented with. Most importantly however, we must take out the threats to our democracy. We must ensure that those who wish to see us oppressed are blinded by our freedom. We must also find stability in a region where the word itself doesn’t seem to exist. Some exciting news to share for today, friends! The colony of @thylakindustrial In Exile on Marta II has announced the largest ever rescue operation launched so far has been a success! Almost two thousand Thylak have been rescued from @elconsystems slavery thanks to coordinated efforts by the Nocle and the Thylak people.

"This liberation could not be possible without the work of the Nocle and our galactic friends." said a Thylak government spokesbeing. "We are ever grateful to see more of our people freed from unlawful bondage."

I can confirm that Republic ships have already taken charge of the freed slaves and are providing them with medical treatment and rest and recovery. The first waves are being sent to Marta II as we speak, where local medical teams will be able to provide more advanced aid.

The Jasho will be hosting a prayer vigil for the arriving Thylak, hoping that their spirits of the land will "provide nourishment and warmth to these lost souls". I'm told the Jasho prayer vigils are quite energetic to witness!

Upgrades to our interstellar communications are nearing completion. Progress has been significantly delayed due to challenging conditions within the Baldarak and Locke systems. However, we are pleased to report succeeded in restoring our connection with the rest of the galaxy, once again allowing us to promote our products and services.

Meanwhile, Our Rift Sphere expedition is still exploriing the crevasses of the facity. According to the explorers, it is a notably vast structure. We shall provide further updates as soon as new findings emerge.

This caused a great split between our people, the Karabiash. After reports that the ship was in danger they fled our home world for another in our system, the planet of Gacholeb. They have refused to invest in anything that might draw the Galaxy's attention. Any visitors are warned they may be attacked on sight on the planet. Any communication should be done through the CCH.

The celebrations for the new capital district was a resounding success! Over a hundred national delegates from many allied nations including the @guildsre , @zaanmanistellarcouncil, @elepharchy, @goganworlds, @gopnuiirevs and many many others were on hand to enjoy the celebrations with the Chancellor and those who are now moved into the new housing blocks.

The Republic News Update channel has been undergoing some system maintenance lately, but I know they will be back within the solar week to broadcasting more news from across our nation. But, I wanted to share this before then - that everything is going fine and well for the network despite the maintenance.

Work also continues on the expedition AR-1127; more caverns have been mapped and located by the @elepharchy remote drones. Further finds are still being unearthed, but they have not been shared yet owing to scientific analysis.

Some of the fossils have been taken to Benevolence Habitat to be stored temporarily while a multi-national scientific team from PEACE will study them within the habitat's scientific district. Exciting news for the community!

“Citizens of Grand Bavia,

I address you all today in a dire moment in our history. For the first time since retaking my rightful place as your president, Bavian territory has fallen into enemy hands. Kelc’s Fortress put up a valiant fight, defending our borders like Kelc himself would have. They defended this country and gave everything for Bavia’s prosperity. Yet the Fortress has fallen.

This leaves our state in a dangerous situation of being cut off from our own navy, leaving Bavia open to the enemy. With the Kingdom’s invasion from the left and the Argent Pact’s from the right we also risk being attacked from all sides. This illegal and immoral intervention by our neighbours have only delayed our demands, expanding the suffrage felt. The Wano Revolutionary Republic would have accepted Bavian demands of democracy if it were not for the intervention, so it is now their fault for what happens to them now. Grand Bavia established a state for the Wano, a democratic one. Now, we risk losing our democracy if we try to defend it. That new state was able to dismantle the Revolution’s grasp on the Wano people and now its future is at risk. I know I promised to, and many will be disappointed with my decision but what I do is for the betterment of us all, as people.

That is why citizens, in the defence of our democracy and the defence of our state I am given no choice but to ask the Galactic Community, the one that kicked us out after trying to bring democracy to the Wano, to communicate our intentions to High Command of the Pact and King Yonwa X to find the terms for a temporary peace to allow our fleet to come home. I acknowledge the fact the rest of the galaxy adheres to the GC’s authority, even if we do not, so going through official channels is our only option now.

Due to this series of unprecedented events, I am given no choice but to take further action for the protection of our state. Therefore I am announcing a temporary State of Emergency, and am hereby dissolving the National Assembly and the Planetary Assemblies. This is a temporary measure I as President am taking in order to preserve the stability of our state. I have consulted the BIIS Bavia division and have been assured that peace and order can be maintained across the nation during this State of Emergency.

This was not what we wanted, or what we desired, but it’s what must happen for our species to survive. That is why I was elected, to make difficult decisions, even when unpopular. With the addition of the Kingdom of Evroncia to the Pact’s intervention, we have no choice but to imagine what could happen to Grand Bavia if we are to fail. They wish to dismantle our state, our democracy and put an illegitimate, authoritarian leader in my place. Citizens of Grand Bavia, I can say to you all that I will not allow for that to happen, and if I must strike King Yonwa X and Argent Command directly, I will. For that is the nature of my role as President, I will not stand for threats against our people, and our democracy. I will not let a foreign power put a monarch on a throne to rule our people, for the people must rule and here in Grand Bavia they do. The Revolution is a concept that was forged in Bavia, by Bavian hands and it will be Bavian hands that end this unjust Revolution, no matter the cost.

Citizens of Grand Bavia and Greater Grand Bavia, the Revolution will never beat Bavian resolve. Monarchies will never beat Bavian ideas of democracy and freedom. Thank you for reaching out! As you can find out via countless information provided by our touristic Guilds, our homeworld of Renorea is mostly inhospitable desert speckled with oasis that provide pockets of habitable zones. This would have caused truly incredible amount of fragmentation, if it wasn't for plentiful Guilds and their countless caravans, maintaining and creating connections between every oasis. As a result, forms of governance commonly observed in the galactic community never had a chance to gain ground on our planet. Faster than light travel was achieved as a result of cooperation under Travellers League, just 200 years after formation of this instituton. We have received an update from the expedition into the rift we are undertaking alongside the @guildsre. The flying objects which were spotted recently were determined to be robotic drones after they approached our Rift Sphere. Initial attempts at communicating with the drones failed. They merely released a chemical foam onto the Sphere and then departed; a sample has been taken and it seems to be a potent sanitising agent. The expedition crew has formed a consensus to pursue the drones and examine their behaviour, leaving some distant biosignatures to be studied later.

Following the drones led us to a discovery of a long abandoned facility which appears to be the origin of the cleaning drones. Paradoxically it was the most unkept place the expedition had the oppurtunity to witness. Illuminated displays, coated in all varieties of filth confirm the full automation of the cleaning machinery. The energy is achieved via renevable sources, while the highly efficient washing agent is recycled from groundwater and air vapour, resulting in a completly self sufficient cycle. Elepharchic component of the expedition proved itself invaluable in discovering the inner workings of this compound, and also has uncovered multiple data caches, providing the work for researches from our side of the rift. No remains of the original creators were found yet, but we are optimistic.

Good morning friends of the Galaxy! I am Laxo and here is the latest from Republic News Update! I apologize for our absence - some of our comm relays have been dealing with solar anomalies interfering with their transmission.

-@vakthar-of-song anniversary event a "great success"; the Ministry of Galactic Affairs reported a record turn out for this event, with several hundred thousand Darexi visiting and paying respects to the continuation of our alliance! The @elepharchy provided VR headsets were also received positively, and plans are in place to continue using them in the future.

-Joint mining operation now "fully up and running"; @guildsre Mining Guild supervisors confirmed that the joint Darexi-Guild mining operation has begun full production. In addition, several production supervisors from the @thylakindustrial government in exile are on hand, with their expertise at resource extraction being invaluable to the operation's continued success.

-Ministry of Defense says pirate threat "nearly undone"; A spokesbeing for the Ministry said that Patrol Fleet joint operations with both members of PEACE and @pactargent had resulted in the destruction, capture and neutralization of several more pirate outposts in the region, and the recovery of at least a dozen living hostages. "The hostages are safe and recovering in Republic facilities," said the spokesbeing, "and for now the Ministry asks that their privacy and care be respected." until such times that they are ready for release.
