Republic News Update - 06.03.GC2026

Good evening to all who follow this humble news channel! This is Pelox, assistant news caster for Republic News Update. We apologize for the absence of our signal to our out of region friends - our communication networks were damaged somewhat by a particularly feisty solar storm that passed through Republic space last month!

It knocked out our long range communications for almost the entirety of our space, so we were only able to reach allies within 200 light years - a bit inconvenient, but we were able to get things moving again relatively quickly due to uninterrupted traffic from our hyperlane connections!

In the mean time, our satellites have been repaired back to normal with a little help from @elepharchy construction minds and our @guildsre worker guild teams!

The Friendship Festival is still planned to go ahead in a few solar weeks, despite the disruption. We've just been so busy with the repairs and other events here:

-The annual budget was published last week prompting a mixed but ultimately positive response; further monies are being allocated towards the expansion of our Republic social programs, which have actually been found to help lower overall expenses and increased productivity by almost five fold since it's implementation.

Defense spending has also increased, but the Ministry of Defense was quick to state that extra spending would only be used to upgrade Patrol Fleet ships and maintain current configurations. "The efficiency of our ground and naval forces remains unchanged," said Minister of Defense Ka'Plet, "the extra funds allocated will allow us to focus on upgrades in shielding and engine technology on all vessels, and helping move further integrations of drone fighters on all capital ships."

-The Ministry of Environment announced today that Marta II had achieved carbon neutral status following upgrades to the young colony's solar infrastructure network. "We are very pleased with the progress our people are making with the help of our Darexi friends." said planetary governor Plumes of Red.

The integration of the Jasho into the Republic has been fairly smooth overall, with many of the avians expressing "extreme happiness" with the steady but measured progress of modernization that their population centers are undertaking.

"We're very pleased that our new friends are finding their progress to be appropriate!" said a Ministry of Galactic Affairs spokes-being, "and as ever in keeping with our own policy, the Ministry will continue to provide full autonomy to the Jasho to decide their own pace. We will not interfere!"

Hello again all! Update to our work on the Friendship Festival!

The Embassy District - ever expanding as we welcome more to our galactic friendship family - will be hosting several gatherings for each nation based on their own history, culture and practices.

Some of them are still memorable enough for our citizens to remember! The @goganworlds sparring pits last year was a big hit among the youth and still talked about fondly on the info-net today.

Stay tuned as we finish the final preparations for the festival! The date shall be announced within the next week or so as we finalize the last of the services needed.

Hello again, citizens of the Republic and many xeno friends!

Once again our apologies for the interruption of our communication signal - some nasty solar storms have been hitting the Laxtara System for some time!

Thankfully they have cleared, and just in time for a VERY important announcement - that is, the second-annual Republic Friendship Festival!

To honor the Republic's history of friendship-building and alliance-making, we'll be holding a celebration open to all in the capital on Laxtara Prime in the Embassy District.

We have already confirmed that the @elepharchy and the @guildsre - among dozens of others - will be sending both physical and virtual representatives to the Festival, and we've already begun setting up the venue.

Shuttle space for several thousand ships will be allocated - but Friendship Station will allow for many more to attend and transport, free of charge.

More details are forthcoming as the Chancellor's Office finalizes the list of galactic attendees!

We know things have been quiet here in our corner of the Galaxy, friends - and we're sorry. However, we can promise that things are still going very well here for all of us in the Republic!

We've successfully built up Soil of Hope - the newest member world in our galactic family - and repaired more than 75% of the damage done in their nuclear conflict. Our scientists estimate that within the next solar year, their water supply will be fully replenished and their oceans will be able to support marine life once more.

Help has been critical from the Science and Construction Guilds of @guildsre who continue to be dear partners and friends for us in the galactic space. Guild scientists have been better able to help engineer atmospheric technologies that are very successful in pulling nuclear radiation out of the air.

The Republic's economy has been easily able to adapt to the support needed to help the Queptillium repair their home world, thanks in large part to our economic and resource generation being both strong and sustainable.

Chancellor Caloxi also wants to share that our latest election season will begin in six solar months, so another round of voting will be in store for all residents of the Republic. It's a lively holiday with festivals, speeches and of course, polite conversation between members of our Assembly.

I for one am looking forward to broadcasting the season when it begins!

Some exciting news to share with you all, friends! First, we apologize for the delay in our holo responses - things have been quite busy here in Darexi space!

The news is that after much significant material and technological support, the Queptillium have been formally integrated into the Republic! Several hundred Republic workers were able to help our old friends with providing supportive, comfortable housing for all of their populace as a first step in integration.

Secondly, as per the Chancellor's edict, we've granted them two seats in the Assembly and their first elections will take place in one week. We're thankful for the @elepharchy minds who helped showcase democracy to them as part of our successful integration.

There's still a lot of buzz and excitement about a new planet and species joining the Republic - more of our new plantoid friends come to visit Laxtara and Travuu every day!

So, some happy news to share as we continue to grow our little galactic family. Our allies, too, in @peritainia-peace have also been very welcoming to them.

Early History

The Silrani are a species of sapient arthropods who evolved to inhabit the many oases on their savanna home world they call Silran-Ka in one of their most common languages. In the early days of their sapience, oases inhabited by the Silrani became increasingly bustling and developed egalitarian hives living in harmony with the landscape around them as well as themselves. As time passed, cultures developed and populations grew. This caused the rise of power-hungry greedy leaders that warped hives into stratified societies while suppressing dissent and controlling the increasingly scarce resources often in favor of the ruling classes.

Good morning to all of our friends and fellow residents of Peritania! We're always delighted to make contact for announcements, particularly ones that have been long worked on.

The Ministry of Environment has confirmed that naturally generated power now accounts for nearly 45% of the Republic's total power consumption as of the start of this month. This is a significant milestone for us as we continue to leverage cleaner power methods across the Republic's colonies and member words.

Some of our most popular methods include @elepharchy installed solar collectors, using nanotechnology to amplify the rate of recharge to be that much more effective, as well as @guildsre mega turbines that now dot the windy northern shores, with the gusts there providing for multiple gigawatts of energy being stored on an hourly basis.

On top of this, these methods have enabled us to achieve power surpluses that we are now passing onto our friends and allies through local trade agreements.

Exciting times for all as energy independence continues to be one of our main-stays!

Work on the new additions to our Patrol Fleets has gotten underway as planned; the help of our @guildsre allies is proving monumental so far. Indeed, a portion of Friendship Habitat's docking rings have been converted into a construction zone (with habitat council permission secured early in advance), and members of the Shipbuilding Guilds are now hard at work on the first few hulls of the destroyer-class vessels to follow.

The addition of such new ships will be able to allow the Patrol Fleet to replace some of our aged vessels according to Minister of Defense Ka'plet, who has already begun planning said replacements with consideration from Republic High Command.

In other news, scientists are once again flocking to the southern reaches of Laxtara for the annual Western Wobbler migration; this year we've already seen almost five hundred scientists from sixty worlds arriving to document the migration. Some of the @elepharchy science minds are already observing the route remotely and have already plotted the extrapolated course of the general migration.

As ever, all precautions have been taken in advance with coordination by the Ministry of Environment to ensure that the Wobblers are able to complete their trek without harm. Some of the Queptillium will also be joining in to observe this as part of their new member status with the Republic. Exciting times for them, to be off Soil Of Hope and on another planet, I'm told!

Some news to announce today, friends! As part of our efforts to ensure safe space transit for all within our borders, the Ministry of Defense has announced an overall increase in budget expenses by 6% over the next two years, to invest in an additional 25-30 Patrol Fleet corvettes along with upgrades to our existing fleets, in partnership with local shipbuilding resources as well as the @guildsre.

"The Guilds have long been our friends and trade partners, and in matters of defense that is no exception." said Minister of Defense Ka'plet to local reporters, saying that the new partnership would ensure both comfort and function for the crew.

Assembly members approved the increase in order to see to some upgrades to older vessels as well as ensure extended protection to our newest planet, Soil of Hope. While the Queptillium have a few ships of their own, the new ships will allow for us to ensure they remain protected and safe from any harm.

Along with an increase to defense spending, the Chancellor has also allocated another increase of 5% to ensuring overall quality of life increases continue; new food synthesizer technology is being installed in all districts thanks to local @elepharchy minds, and several of the minds are now in discussion to travel to Soil of Hope to begin installation of technology there.

Tagrek, former governor of Laxosa Prime, will lead the diplomatic party traveling to Soil of Hope. While Tagrek's form is that of a super computer, they will be using a special 'holo avatar' to help ensure a smooth contact with our Queptillium friends, who are still a bit nervous around robotic/cybernetic life forms.

We wish them the best of luck with the installation work! Tagrek estimates it will only take a few days at best. Following that, they and the Ministry of Galactic Affairs will be arranging a diplomatic trip to @evroncia to re-affirm our support and friendship of the Kingdom.

As a token of our desired friendship with the @ixidar-star-collective we have dispatched over the info net a repository of our information on hive-minded species so that they may potentially be able to resolve any issues of problems with their individual members as per their message.

We hope that our data storage can provide insights for them to use to help defend against any more messages about "gnawing the flesh from our bones" if possible - we hope only for friendship and understanding with the myriad races of the Galaxy, including those who are one mind but many parts.

Some exciting news to share for today, friends! The colony of @thylakindustrial In Exile on Marta II has announced the largest ever rescue operation launched so far has been a success! Almost two thousand Thylak have been rescued from @elconsystems slavery thanks to coordinated efforts by the Nocle and the Thylak people.

"This liberation could not be possible without the work of the Nocle and our galactic friends." said a Thylak government spokesbeing. "We are ever grateful to see more of our people freed from unlawful bondage."

I can confirm that Republic ships have already taken charge of the freed slaves and are providing them with medical treatment and rest and recovery. The first waves are being sent to Marta II as we speak, where local medical teams will be able to provide more advanced aid.

The Jasho will be hosting a prayer vigil for the arriving Thylak, hoping that their spirits of the land will "provide nourishment and warmth to these lost souls". I'm told the Jasho prayer vigils are quite energetic to witness!

@guildsre has already offered to provide refreshments and ceremonial incense for the prayer vigil as well, at low cost! We're most grateful.

We would like to apologise for our prolonged lack of communication on the galactic forum.

Upgrades to our interstellar communications are nearing completion. Progress has been significantly delayed due to challenging conditions within the Baldarak and Locke systems. However, we are pleased to report succeeded in restoring our connection with the rest of the galaxy, once again allowing us to promote our products and services.

Meanwhile, Our Rift Sphere expedition is still exploriing the crevasses of the facity. According to the explorers, it is a notably vast structure. We shall provide further updates as soon as new findings emerge.

It has been a quiet few weeks in the Republic, friends. Rest assured that things are still going well all things considered!

Some updates we can share:

-Further trade deals with our allies and friends the @guildsre have been conducted, with the Guilds now helping to supply the @thylakindustrial Government In Exile on Marta II with surplus resources to help build up their economic structure. With Republic help, things are going very well! As ever, the plan is to maintain the structure on a temporary basis, until such a time that we can free the Thylak's home territory from the @elconsystems

-With help from our @peritainia-peace allies several new cruiser ships have been constructed for defense purposes here in Republic space. The ships will be put to good use with our Patrol Fleet in helping secure space lanes from any unfriendly visitors.

-And finally, the Assembly has reconvened for our next legislative session after a two month holiday break. Chancellor Caloxi will be on hand for the first session tomorrow morning, followed by a meeting with our @elepharchy friends about further supercluster installations owing to their popularity.

All is going well here on Laxtara. So far, no major news to report in our absence. The Assembly did ratify approval of the Queptillium into the Republic; so we are glad to welcome our leafy friends into the fold!
