Guru Rugu was very excited and honored to be the guest host of Jack Heard's Reading Radio this past Wednesday on KChung Radio! Thank you Jack for letting Guru Rugu come on and read the 11th grade term paper of Raven Moot (the son of our frequent collaborator, Veranda Moot), entitled Christian Symbolism in Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest! Please join us at Cannonball for An Experimental Meditation Open Mic, hosted by Guru Rugu and the experimental meditation center of los angeles. Attendees will have the opportunity to facilitate brief, fantastic new modes of psychonautical experimentation, with Guru Rugu refereeing.
If youâd like to reserve an Open Mic spot in advance, please include in your RSVP a rough idea for a 5-10 minute experimental meditation that youâd like to lead in the emcla mission at Cannonball (it must remain physically in the space!). It is not mandatory to lead an experimental meditation in order to attend â feel free to just come along and participate.
An experimental meditation can be almost anything â for our purposes it should be gentle (no one gets hurt) and make no mess â it might resemble traditional meditation in some way, but attendees are encouraged to expand and challenge their notion of what a guided meditation, movement meditation, guided visualization, group prayer, sermon, spiritually-inspired rant, etc. can look, read, sound, and feel like! Breathing through our armpits? Great. Channeling dolphin wisdom to predict lottery numbers? Fantastic. The sky is no longer the limit.
NOTE: Experimental meditations must remain within the confines of the temporary headquarters of the experimental meditation center of los angeles at Cannonball. The space is small and the floors are slippery, even with shoes on, so fast movement and certain positions might be difficult, or even dangerous. If youâd like to see the space beforehand, please let us know.
